The service we had wasn't the best, but it looked like the other wait staff was more friendly/attentive. Our waitress acted like we were bothering her and she avoided us when she was walking right beside our table. The stuffed mushrooms were amazing, but I wish you could have tasted the crab since it was a bit scant, but they... More

We were on a road trip to North Carolina and needed a place that was not "fast food" to stop at. Many places were actually closed this Sunday night, and we were having a struggle. This place parallels the highway, so really only takes you off course by about 15 minutes, but the trip takes 25 minutes from the exit.... More

We went for our friends birthday. We all thought the food was just ok. Nothing to brag about. Not horrible either. The best part of the visit were the people that worked there. All very nice. Would not go back.

We ate here again tonight because of their great Italian food and their Wednesday night dinner special - 2 entrees and an appetizer to share for $25. We love this place because all their items are fresh and plentiful. Garlic bread "knots" and salad served family style to start. Our party shared the egg plant and crab foccacia appetizers -... I had heard about this restaurant and it is near family, so we decided to give it a try. The salad was served family style and was fine. The bread, garlic knots, was delicious. We also had a side of bruschetta, which was good. The menu was extensive and we went on a Wednesday, which is the 2 for $25... More

This is literally a 5 star food in a 1 star location. Now don't get me wrong being located on a campground is one thing, but the ambiance gives you the feel of a high school lunch room too. My wife and I came in this place with a suit and dress just by viewing the menu online alone. Also... More

Having just moved to the area we were interested in checking out the locals eats. My son found Walkers Dam Restaurant and it is our new favorite. We didn't have reservations so we sat out on the patio overlooking a beautiful lake/dam. We enjoyed watching an osprey feeding her babies. It was a spectacular view. The food was very tasty... More

Don't be put off by the location in a camp ground! The food was fabulous, the staff was attentive and friendly, and the view of the sunset over the James River was beautiful. Note also when ordering that the portions are generous - we had another entire meal to take home!

My sister and her husband live a few miles away in the Toano area. They go to the restaurant several times a year and say it's always a pleasure. We arrived early, around 5:30 and were the only people seated. The restaurant was full before we left. Attire ran from very casual to a few in coat and tie. Our... More
