After having such a bad experience at the Wreckers, we visited this restaurant and can I tell you the experience proved to be the ray of sunshine after the rain! From the moment we entered, we were greeted with smiles. One server who although she was busy waiting on a table, took the time out as we passed her to greet us, making eye contact and with a warm smile. Our server walked over to our table and warmly greeted us and asked if she can start us off with anything to drink; I said to my husband, “now this is it.” I wish I could remember her name but I think she moved over from Treasure Cay. She is absolutely amazing, personable and clearly loves what she does. The food was amazing and the service seamless! The recommendations she offered were spot on. There was a great display of teamwork that I witnessed among those ladies. Customer service per excellence! We will definitely be back and I HIGHLY recommend. Thank you to the management and staff for showing us that great customer service still exist!

Budda's is a fantastic place in Spanish Wells. The selection of fresh, hot and tasty food is exceptional. They have the best burger on the island with fresh patties and homemade buns - the best value and taste hands down.
The atmosphere is fun and very casual. You can pay with credit card and the prices for drinks and food are very reasonable (as islands go)
On your way out you can pop in the very well stocked liquor store for spirits, wine, beer and a selection of Budda merchandise.

We spent a week in Spanish Wells, Bahamas and had a wonderful time. However, it’s a small island and dining options are somewhat limited. The few available are stuffy, tourist traps. Buddha’s was a welcome reprieve with a casual vibe, good bartender, kids menu, quality food , and good prices. Also they have a couple cockatoos you can hang out with! Not to mention the service was great and the owner made a point to say hello. If you’re staying in Spanish Wells more than a day or 2, Buddha’s should be a repeat visit

This was our first time in Spanish Wells. I had watched many you tube videos about the island and Budda’s snack shack and liquor store was on many of them. We were surprised when we got to our villa that we were staying right across from Budda’s. And when we got to our villa Budda himself was outside painting his fence. He greeted us warmly and told us “what ever we needed while we were on the island to let him know.” We soon found out Budda’s hospitality was very genuine. Our villa didn’t have a mixer for making a cake for my daughters birthday and when I asked Budda if he had one I could borrow he went right into his house and let me borrow his! He also came over to wish my daughter a happy birthday and gave her one of his flags as a gift. We went to Budda’s often for snacks, drinks and liquor and ice. The parrots were a treat to watch and listen to and the atmosphere in the restaurant was fantastic and laid back. On our last day in Spanish Wells our taxi did not pick us up as scheduled and Budda was right there to save the day, getting us to the ferry so we could to get to the airport on time. I can’t say enough great things about Budda’s snack shack and his staff and of course about Budda himself!

If you’re white, this is the place to go. Like all of Spanish Wells, you just see white people on vacation. A lot of loud, drunk middle age white men and women crowded together like COVID doesn’t exist. The food was typical bar food — mushy veggies, dense mac & cheese. The grilled grouper was surprisingly good.

Casual place for a relaxed lunch. Great service and Buddah himself was flitting around making sure everything was perfect and running smoothly. We had the cracked conch sandwich, which was delicious. You'll be entertained by reading all of the signs posted everywhere. Don't pass up a photo op with the Buddah cut-out!

Our third trip to SW coming next month.
We love it there and the wonderful grocery store, but Budda and his store and restaurant are awesome.
Our server always asks if we want a cocktail "to go".
Can't wait!

So good to be back on Spanish Wells! Of course one of the first places we always need to hit up is Buddas! The food and drinks are great and the service is awesome! Paige serves up delicious drinks and Clara is attentive, personable, funny and was eager to help us when we asked for suggestions. The vibe there is just fun all around. Having a liquor store attached is handy as well!

If you are looking for good local food in a relaxed fun atmosphere, this is the place. The service is friendly and prices are reasonable. My favorite item on the menu was the cracked conch, well done and delicious and enjoyed with a cold Kalik beer.

Having spent two weeks on Spanish Wells, myself & my family have loved Buddhas.
The staff & locals have been so welcoming & we have enjoyed several nights enjoying, food, cocktails & karaoke.
We’re going to really miss both the island, the people & the bar.
Love you guys & really hope to see you again

Truly one of my favorite places on the island! My sister loved it on a previous trip, so when our internet stopped working at the house, we walked there to check email.
Sat at the bar and immediately felt like family. Our bartender was Virginia who was hilarious and awesome. The food was good but the drinks! Y’all. The drinks here are spectacular.
The Dizzy Buddha is my favorite drink of all the drinks I’ve had on Spanish Wells and Russell Island. Refreshing but also packs a good dose of alcohol too. Lol. And normally, I hate pina coladas but the one Virginia makes I’d drink every day.
If you want a low key, local atmosphere with good food and amazing drinks, this is your place. I can’t wait to come back!

What looks like a storefront from the front turns out to be a full restaurant and bar once you get through the door. Parrots and a fish tank to check out!
Food was good and drinks were tasty. Service was slow and a few things were forgotten... but worth the wait.
Highly recommended as long as you aren't in a hurry!
Great HH specials.

just ok. Location is inland, no view and really hot unless the wind is really blowing. Food was just ok. Frozen burger, meh. Conch fritters fairly greasy. Service was fine but even with limited options on Spanish Wells, I might skip next trip.

I love visiting Spanish wells and buddas is the place to be. Everyone is friendly, welcoming, and hospitable. Great people. Please ignore the negative reviews— they are NOT true. I’ve visited 6 times in 2021 and can attest that it is not accurate. Make sure you visit — shout out to Virginia, Paige, Clara, and jewel for being amazing.

5 stars for the great grouper and 1 star for the poor follow-up and reception I received from the staff when I found out I had accidently doubled tipped as it is their practice to include the tip on the bill. Within a few minutes of realizing what I did, I approached staff about it and with a rather flippant attitude was told they already made the charge and did not know how to reverse it. What if I was overcharged on a food/drink Item? What then? No other solution was offered not even an empathetic sorry.
I hope the snickering I witnessed from my table immediately afterwards was not directed towards me.
