When the hotel shuttle took us to Sam Sneads Tavern, it was about 9:00, the time where they stop seating guests. The person at the front desk said that they were closed. Then, a nice man named Steve said he would seat us and serve us. He was so nice and we are lucky he could seat us. The food... More

Took our family here for dinner on Black Friday. This historical tavern is very cozy although a little dated. The food was very good, and the service was ok (could have been a little more attentive).

We had a party of nine, which gives most restaurants a hiccup, but not Sam s. They could not have been more pleasant, seated us quickly and the food was just great. Although we were staying at the Homestead, this was a very pleasant and refreshing meal - but when you add the ability to see all of Sam Snead's... More

Cozy restaurant with lots of wood paneling. Our server was very friendly and efficient. There were four of us and we all ordered something different for dinner. Fish & Chips, lamb burger, chicken pot pie and beef filet. All enjoyed our dinners!

The food here is very good with friendly, less stuffy service than the main resort. Still fairly pricey but worth it for quality food.

Attentive bartender knows how to serve; my guess she's in her 70s :) As I mentioned in my review of the nearby Inn, the Cesar salads were crisp, cold and nicely dressed... just the way I like them. For a resort area, prices are probably considered reasonable ($12.50 for the Bombay). Decor is sedate and pleasant and you can't hear... More

It's not a very big place so you probably will have to wait. I simply ate at the bar. The Fish & Chips were very good. And as a bonus, I got to sit next to and eat with JC Snead--Sam Snead's nephew who did quite well both on the regular and Senior tour. Very nice man.

Good hearty tavern food! We ate here while staying at the Homestead and you can charge food to your room even though its across the street. Good place for kids, they brought our son a coloring book and crayons. Good kids menu. Great food and drinkis.

My wife and I were really looking forward to eating here. It has a cozy atmosphere with Sam Snead memorabilia everywhere. We had viewed the menu online the day before and were looking forward to the prime rib (which we had enjoyed before). Regretfully it was not on the menu. The food is good but casual, nothing particularly noteworthy. My... More
