Just like some of the other restaurants claiming to serve authentic Indian cuisine, this one comes out again short of the restaurant-level dishes. The biryani is especially sub-par.

We ordered family style. Highly recommend the chicken kabob tandoori. Veg chittinad, Pallak paneer and more. Wonderful food!!!! Great service. Lots of fun.

I and my wife have visited Kalpasi quite a few times. We were pleasantly surprised to find a local Chettinad restaurant. Some of the items in the menu are not very common in other Indian restaurants, like the Appam. Now that they have added dosais to the menu, we will be visiting more often.

Chicken pakora here is the bomb. I would recommend you visit on this dish alone. None of my friends left hungry. Good portions for the price. The staff and the manager were all very friendly and attentive.

I had the chettinad koli soup, chicken pakora and egg thali - all were delicious! The staff is very friendly, which I always appreciate when trying somewhere new. The prices do seem a bit high (almost $6 for not much soup) but not to the extent that I wouldn't visit again.

Kalpasi is a solid choice for those looking for southern Indian cuisine. There has been a recent boom in Indian restaurants in this area, and Kalpasi helps offer more variety with the spicier flavors of southern India. I've only heals the Mutton Chukka Varuval, but I can say that it was cooked well and had excellent flavors. Be warned that... More

I love this place! If you like Indian food, Kalpasi is awesome and different. You can taste the variety of freshly ground spices (ask the host Alex how he gets them) and herbs in every dish. Yes, this makes some dishes hot (spicy) to the non-epicurean, but I've marveled at everything I've tried here. The Chettanad style of dishes is... More

Enjoyed lunch and loved the food but it is a little pricey compared to some of the Indian restaurants in the area. I ordered the chicken Chettinad which is a spicy chicken dish with a gravy. This was delicious. It came with rice, I was a little miffed that I had to pay extra for naan.

Food - I am a vegetarian and I have to say that the vegetarian menu is not that impressive as far as my comparison with other Indian restaurants. I have tried Aappam, Biryani, Parotta, Kotthu Parotta. Kothu parotta disappointed me very much.. nothing compared to the one I ate in India... The do not serve munchies / pappad while you... More

Unchecked spice addition actually turned the food bitter. Imagine eating bitter spiced chicken. Prices way too high than required for such low,old and poorly prepared food. Found hair and charred paper in my food.
