Last night we had dinner at Cantina D'Italia, a nice restaurant in a small strip mall in Herndon. We'd been here a few years ago, but I couldn't recall anything about that experience, so this is a fresh review. We were quickly seated (early evening on a weekday), drink orders were taken. We ordered the calamari appetizer for the table.... More

Went to Cantina D'italia for lunch after a few years of not frequenting due to work location away from Herndon and the food is still excellent and very reasonably priced. The French bread is flaky on the outside and moist and warm on the inside. I ordered the Fettuccine Mediterranean with back-fin crab meat, sea scallops, and jumbo shrimps and... More

We prefer here to Olive Garden and others. I'm not a tomato sauce guy. I always judge Italian restaurants by the quality of their veal dishes. This place comes through quite well and is priced fine. Looks like a deli from outside, but don't be deceived. Serves quite a nice martini as well.

The fare is rather standard. Nothing that was terribly adventurous or innovative. What everyone had, they were fine with. What stood out was how slow the service was during lunch. We had a group of 8, but it was fairly empty. Advice: Don't go with a group.

I had the lasagna Bolognese and it was very delicious. The service was good and the workers were friendly but the star of the show was the good. I highly recommend it.

We have eaten many times at the Cantina in Herndon and also the one in Fair Lakes. No complaints. The salads are generous and fresh, and all of the pasta dishes are just wonderful. Service is very good and the desserts are great. The atmosphere is a little on the fancy side - better than most restaurants in the area... More

Great late night dinner with the chef able to coordinate one person having steak with two pasta entrees. Went with folks who go there often and are known, but it was a busy night with short handed staff and everyone pulling together to make it work for the customers. I'm Italian and do not often eat in Italian restaurants, but... More

A hidden gem in Herndon, Va. I recommend everything on the menu. It is like there is a grandma in the back cooking all the food with love.

Food is excellent, I always order the same thing, I should say, when I walk in, Jason, the Manager says, "Eggplant, side of spaghetti, salad and tea?". and I say, "yes, thanks" Fast service and hometown feeling with locals. Love this place. I bring all my friends that I want to please.

I don't know where to begin, first of all the food is SUPERB! Every dish I have gotten (or shared from someone else's plate) has be so delicious, I have gone to the opened kitchen area and just STARED while the chefs are cooking! If you are an Italian & Seafood connoisseur this is the place to go! EVERYTHING is... More
