This place is fabulous. Your first time let them guide you the experience was unique. If you have some time before heading to the airport this is the perfect place to have a stop. The food is delicious, the smell and taste of the different...spices extraordinary. I will come back!More

...of food that you can and should eat with your fingers. Yep, never had an experience like the amazing experience I had at this restaurant. I walked in on a whim and was immediately welcomed by the staff. The owner asked what I would like,...to which I stated "first time, any advice." I kid you not, he closed my menu, asked if I liked meat or veggies or both and then walked away, assuring me he would get me something amazing and to my liking. He could not have been more right! The sample platter he brought out was a unique treat. Meat (lamb in my case) surrounded by an assortment of veggies and curries, all on a flat sour type bread (injera, I have come to learn) with a basket of more of this flat, sour like bread. I did not receive a single utensil, but watched others rip off a piece of this bread, pick up the meat and veggies, and eat. I went all in for the immersive experience and loved every second of it. The entire dish was demolished by the time I left, and I can honestly say I got my money's worth and enjoyed every morsel to boot. I will certainly be trying/eating Ethiopian food in the future.More

This is the worst Ethiopian restaurant I have been to., the worst customer service of ever. The two mail servers are impolite towards us, before we finish our food one of the server disrespectfully asks us to leave the table . Seriously, if you don’t...understand the level of service your job entails or just don’t care, the food industry is not for you.More

My teen daughter wanted to try Ethiopian food. I had tried just a taste once when a coworker brought some to lunch. So we decided to try this restaurant. Parking was easy. Restaurant was clean, bright and colorful with nice ambiance. Waiter was very helpful....When he realized our limited experience with Ethiopian food he asked a few questions about our food preferences and then brought us an amazing dish with spicy beef and lamb and other side dishes. He explained how to eat it with the injera. We felt very welcomed and will definitely visit again!More

We had the beef and lamb combo, medium spicy. Everything was delicious. The smells of the richly spiced dishes were intoxicating! The injera was perfect for scooping up the dishes. My favorite were the mild yellow one and the spicy lamb. The beef and lamb...were equally succulent and tasty. The combo was more than enough for two. The leftovers were even better the next day, cold wrapped in the injera that had soaked up all the juices. The service was friendly and the price was fair. Can’t wait to return!More

Disappointed. The bread served to eat the meal was cold and had a slimy texture and was gray in color, making it very unappetizing.

We live in Vienna VA and have been going in to DC for our Ethiopian food fix. Now that we have discovered Enatye in Herndon, there is no need to fight the traffic and parking in DC! The restaurant is in a little strip mall...and does not look very inviting from the outside but the food the the service is top notch. The proprietor and his brother run the place and they are friendly and attentive. Being vegetarians, we pretty much always eat the veggie platter and it is excellent. The food arrives very quickly and there is not much in terms of beverages or appetizers so one could be in an out in less than an hour.More

My friend invited me to this place and told me it's a best kept secret. We arrived a bit early at about 5.30 and by 7pm the place was packed...I don't think it's a best kept secret anymore. Our combination platter was lamb and beef...and the veggies were great and when we asked for spicy, we got it but it wasn't so full of heat that we couldn't eat it. Service was great as they filled our water glasses when needed and the red wine was also good and at a good price. Going back to enjoy the place again.More

My husband and I went there without any expectations. Never had Ethiopian cuisine before, and wanted to try something different. Not knowing what to order the waiter just asked us a few questions and then left and said to trust him... we went along and...he came back with a tray lined with a crepe like bread, and on top of it different kind of stewed meats and vegetables (spinach, lentils, carrots and cabbage). Two sides of Ethiopian flat bread ( injera). The stewed meats were aromatic and very flavorful, and the vegetables were simply amazing. What a great surprise! The place is packed, so come early if you are a big group.More

Love love love Enyatye! Finally don't have to go downtown for delicious Ethiopian food. And the owners are so friendly and helpful with ordering. Just let them tell you what to order if you don't know, you will not be disappointed. One star lost for...decor, which is is fairly plain and could use a little sprucing up, but don't let that deter you, the food rivals anyplace downtown.More

No need for a long review here. Great food, great owner. Go-to place for Ethiopian food near D.C. Owner helped us pick out dishes and gave us pointers on eating the Ethiopian way.

I try to eat Ethiopian food every time I visit DC, but my go-to place Meskerem in Adams Morgan is shut down. Enatye food is much better, they have a spicy beef that is very pleasing and every dish was tasty. Nice gluten free too....Go here for the food -- not much of an atmosphere (a bit the opposite of Meskerem)More

Have visited multiple times since January 2019 and every experience has been great. Cheerful, simple, nice, and relaxed place. The food is very flavorful and high-quality. It is also good value - We get the combo plate of 7 vegetarian dishes with extra injera bread...and can usually get 2 meals per person (4 meals total) with this. Great for vegetarians and vegans. They do have meat dishes, but I cannot attest to those as I have not had any. After trying most of the vegetarian dishes, our favorites are the potatoes, non-spicy lentils, chickpeas, and the spicy lentils. The St. George Ethiopian beer is a refreshing and flavorful lager that goes great with the food. Service is prompt and friendly. It can get busier and take a touch longer to get served during peak hours (which is expected), but they always take care of us in a timely manner. This is one of our favorite restaurants in the area (and in general) and we will definitely continue to come here. Great job on everything guys, this is a real gem!More
