Staff was so great and considerate upon arrival. After a brief tour, we were able to come and go as we pleased, making a late-night turn-in possible. It's only 0.2 miles from downtown, so we didn't have to worry about parking and/or taking cabs back. Brunch was absolutely DELICIOUS! Definitely a lot more food than I was expecting. The staff... This is a must eat restaurant! The menu is local, fresh and exquisite. Service was above excellent. We had brunch, the Eggs Benedict were perfect. Duck confite hash was flavorful and filling. Our kids loved the club sandwich and yogurt parfaits. Stunning location. We will be back!

Loved the efficient, quiet service (no chatty servers), creative menu selections, delicious food - perfect for a special occasion as ours was.

It was under new ownership when we went and we were concerned it would not be as good. First thing we noticed was the decor was more fitting with the era of the house and very nice. Our service couldn't have been better and several people checked on us. Paul Wilson, our server, was informative and very efficient. The food... More

We did not sleep at the JW House so this review is only for the dinner we enjoyed. The place has a dignified old world charm and the wait staff is well trained and perfect. Funny for us to hear a lot of "sirs" and "maams." Cocktails were very good. The food near perfection. My husband's steak was slightly overcooked... More

Beautiful Victorian Inn with excellent food and service. Everything we had was delicious. We went twice. They have "couples date night" on Thursdays which is a three course meal for $35 per person - good deal. My husband had the scallops and filet mignon. I had the papardelle vege dish and filet mignon. All delicious!

We had a party for 35 at the Joshua Wilton House--a place we chose for looks as we don't live in Harrisonburg. The meals were spectacular--delicious and perfectly cooked and presented. My rockfish was delicious--cooked just done, not dry, and with a crab butter that looked a bit odd, but tasted delicious and added a boost of flavor to the... More

Beautiful old house that now serves as an inn. Outspending, creative menu with wide range of choices. They note on the menu what is local sourced, a nice touch. Extensive wine list with a nice range of prices. Service is well above the norm. Overall, they stack up against any Michelin star restraints.

Hidden gem? As good as it gets? You bet!! One of the best places to stay and to dine, period. Here's a shout-out to Jeff and to Jared. You both went above and beyond as our hosts. What more can we say? We had a memorable stay thanks to you--and thanks to all your support staff. And we'll be back.... More

Located in an elegantly restored Victorian mansion, Joshua Wilton House is within walking distance of historic downtown Harrisonburg and the campus of James Madison University, offering guests quiet charm and gracious living in the heart of the Shenandoah Valley. The Restaurant offers a unique and exquisite a la carte menu that changes with the seasons, along with an extensive selection of beers and an award-winning wine list. Featured are the food products of many small local farms and producers who supply our kitchen with high quality ingredients that simply cannot be found elsewhere. Chef's Tom French and Brian Bogan work together to create food that highlights Virginia's southern heritage while adding a French influence to the dish. During the warmer months, seating is available on the outdoor brick patio. Arrive early and enjoy a cocktail in our lounge before dinner.
