Hands down the best place to eat in sleepy BUT booming Harrisonburg VA! An unexpected gem during a lazy Sunday drive thru the Shenandoah area as we arrived just after opening at 10 am. The regular Thai dishes offered were surprisingly authentic and fresh but here's the kicker: they offer MORE super delicious well cooked seafood dishes like Seafood PrikPao... More
Consistently great. The wait staff know us now after about 8 years or so. Once every other month. They are excellent and efficient which is what we want. We're usually there at 5:00 pm so not crowded or noisy. Lunch is great, sometimes groups in the side rooms. We drive 25 miles to get to this location. Take friends without... More
Consistently good, fresh food and friendly, efficient, hard-working wait staff. The only downside is that it is in a remodeled industrial building--which is adequate--but there is nowhere for the sound to go. Therefore, when it's busy, it's also noisy.
We've been eating at Taste of Thai since they opened, and just had another great lunch there. In many years, we've only had a disappointing meal once; usually the food is very tasty, and the portions are plentiful. The service is attentive and pleasant. The only perennial complaint I have is the noise level, which has been unpleasant since it... More
I've been to Taste of Thai twice in the last year while visiting a friend who lives in the Harrisonburg area. Both times my food was excellent and plentiful. The waitress was very polite and attentive. The food was delicious and spiced as she had described. There was plenty of parking spaces. The only reason I gave it 4 stars was that the atmosphere/ambiance of the restaurant reminded me more of a diner.
The food was good, but I think they must go a little heavy on the fish sauce or something, because it all ended up tasting very salty. To be fair, the two other times I've had Thai were in bigger cities, and I gave those places 5 star reviews, so my expectations may be a little too high.
My family and I have been many times. From the seafood appetizers to sesame chicken with broccoli, we always have a good menu. It can be crowded sometimes, slowing down service, but usually it is a reasonable wait. It is Americanized on spice levels as expected.
We used to frequent (twice a year or so?) this restaurant many years ago and always had good experiences. However, at a most recent lunch, the food was terrible! The menu looked the same and we ordered pretty much our standard dishes, such as Pad Thai. The (free) soup was like hot lemon broth and we had no more than... More
