My family and I ate brunch at Clementine's for our first visit during a recent weekend trip to Harrisonburg. After a 40 min. wait, we enjoyed the atmosphere and friendly service. However, we all agreed that our food was only so-so, with the exception of...the crab dip appetizer, which we liked. It seems like a great place to have a drink, but we were disappointed in the food, especially compared to some other nearby restaurants we've enjoyed. The consensus of our group is that we'd give Clementine's another try, but it wouldn't be our first choice.More

Wanted to eat outside due to Covid. But since this is a college town, it was hard to find a place that was quite and socially distant. As we walked by I looked In the door of Clementines and there was no one in the...restaurant. It was completely empty. II wasn’t sure how to interrupt that. Was it a good restaurant? Why is it not busy on a Saturday night. Being an out of Towner, I had no way of knowing for sure. We took a chance and went in. The two hostesses were very friendly and we asked for a table with outdoor seating. She took us down a flight of stairs to the basement and out through a dark catacomb like room that doubled as a bar area. Being a college town, we thought it was different, but it was clean. We exited out the other side of the basement into a lovely and surprising outdoor dining space full of large trough potted plants, white Christmas lights and a protective tent around the area in case of rain, and a selection of socially distant tables. The waiter was attentive and helpful. I ordered the fish and chips and my husband ordered the fried chicken. I have to say, it was THE best Fish and chips I ever had. Dessert was wonderful too. As time went by the place filled up. I Would recommend Clementines and to think twice before leaving a place just because no one is eating there, when you peek in. Sometimes, that’s the best time to go!More

Clementine never disappoints. I travel to Harrisonburg a lot and always make it a point to go to Clementine for lunch and sometimes dinner. The best chicken sandwich in the world! The environment is open and airy and they have outdoor dining.

We stopped here for the third time was we drove from CT to NC. The service was warm and bubbly and the food was delicious. Followed all Covid rules: Masks, distancing, cleanliness. We loved it!

We visited our freshman daughter at JMU and had brunch together and it was very tasty. The bloody marys were good too! Nice outdoor patio offered a nice ambiance.

5 of us went here for lunch on Sunday. The receptionist told us that there would be a 15 minute wait and took our phone number to notify us when or table was ready. After 20 minutes we went to check with her and said...“we really got slammed” and there would now be another hour before we could be seated. This person did have our phone number. We will never ever go back.More

Everyone super friendly, fast, great atmosphere and food, definitely recommend and will come back if I am in town again. The fried chicken sandwich is to die for, crab cake very good. Also liked the breakfast burrito.

Had a lovely lunch and the staff did a great job with COVID precautions. I had the chicken sandwich (it was super yummy) and my companions all had salads- there were no leftovers.

In the midst of COVID-19, I went to Clementine Cafe on the basis of a friend's review. I went with a friend. We were seated at a table large enough for a reasonable social distance. Between each table there was a large, oblong, galvanized tub...full of shrubs and lovely flowers. They not only created a pleasant and peaceful atmosphere, but they served as perfect buffers between the tables, which were about eight feet apart. We could not see and could barely hear other diners. The food was very good, as usual, and the masked and gloved server was great.More

Had an excellent meal! While I don't remember everything we had from seven mos ago, the Shrimp & Grits were downright amazing, the salmon entree delicious, and everything else just as good. Service was also excellent on that Friday evening.
