The Hampton Surf Rider is the best one to visit!! Awesome staff, food, and location. SR also has the best seafood on the Peninsula...don't leave without trying their signature crab cakes. Then opt for a view of yachts, Hampton University and the Virginia Air and Space Museum - a beautuful sight to see.

This has been a favorite for many years and out last experience was no exception. We had business at Bluewater and wanted a quick lunch so one us had crabcakes and the other a hamburger. The burger was very good nd the crab cake was tremendous. Service was excellent

My husband and I were looking for somewhere different to have dinner at on Saturday night, after reading some reviews we decided to try Surf Rider. It is a yacht club but it is comfortable and not a formal atmosphere. They do not do reservations, but we were eating later around 7:30 or 8 o'clock so this was not a... More

No "crackers" for crab legs. Seriously? Took as many calories to get to the crab as I got by eating it.

Solo visit. Bar tender was wonderful (cheerful and full of suggestions). Food was great. Had the collared greens and stewed tomatoes as sides. Darn near turned me into a vegetarian.

located on a beautiful piece of water with a spectacular sunset view. Delicious seafood, known for their colossal fried shrimp and clams. The best crab dip you have ever tasted. I get the blacken tuna sandwich because it is huge, cheaper, and I just don't eat the roll. All local go there and its a happening place. Most of the... More

I have been here often and the food and service has always been good. Nice view of Hampton River and the Yachts in the marina . Cons! At times very noisy and poor atmosphere (o!@xox#). Too bad staff let a few spoil the dining experience of many.

The crab cakes and fried shrimp are tasty. The sides are not terribly good as they appear to be frozen and or pre-cooked. The Hampton location has a lovely view and is great with friends after a movie. The service is friendly if not always fast. The Chesapeake location doesn't have the view but the food is about the same.

We picked this place because it was listed number one on TripAdvisor. When we arrived, we were seated at a table next to the window which was great. We had a wonderful view of all the yachts/boats. The food and service was a different story. My husband got the fried shrimp and it was superb. I got the steamed shrimp/crab... More
