We wanted to have a treat to eat on our drive down Skyline Drive and stopped here to get cinnamon rolls. They were delicious.

An incredible surprise! Right next to Vibressa brewery. Everything we had from the lemon crème cookies, pecan bar, and chocolate crème filled egg were unique and delicious! We’re going back!

While traveling and exploring the area we stopped at this bakery on Main Street. Cute inside and smelled great. Stocked with gifts and take home delights of honey, jelly and other local made items. The bakery items were fresh and also decorated with care. The...owner and staff friendly and suggested items but if it was up to me EVERYTHING could go home with us! I had been looking for a good slice of cherry pie and this was a perfect spot for that. You could get an individual pie or a big regular pie. We chose the big pie and they heated up a couple of slices for us to eat there with great coffee. The owner was a local historian and had pictures of the town from the beginning. He educates the local students on baking too. We could have talked to him for hours. Back to the pie! It is hard to find good cherry pie. Alot of pies are large cherries with lots of filler. Their pies have the good small cherries and lots of them. Basketweave crust buttery and shiny. We will go back and take this detour when we travel through. If I could give it a 10 I would. Highly recommend this stop! You can walk and explore this cute town too. But first sit inside or out and enjoy the baked delights!More

We were in town for a couple of days and stopped in just to check it out. We grabbed a few things to try and drove up on Skyline Drive. The berry cin roll was amazing! It had blackberries and blueberries in it! We also...sampled a delicious apple cookie. We went back the next day for more of the berry cin rolls. Will definitely stop in if we are back in Front Royal!More

August 8, 2021, We had a delicious cinnamon bun, three berry bun, and a breakfast bar at this sweet bakery on East Main Street, Front Royal Virginia. It is walking distance to the historic Court House. We were able to sit down inside and enjoy...breakfast and coffee . They also had outside seating. We were able to park right in front of the store. I wish we lived closer because I would come here a lot ! The pies, muffins, scones, cookies, brownies looked amazing. There was a nice selection of bottled teas, water, etc to chose from. Coffee was also available. We will be back !! This bakery is located at 120 East Main Street. It is right next to a Hikers store. We also enjoyed strolling down to the city park. The Visitor Center is located near the park.More

We picked up various treats. We got sticky buns, cookies, brownies and whoopie pies. We also picked up this molasses breakfast bar that was still delicious a week later. The people that waited on us were super friendly and helpful.

I am so glad I live too far away to go here daily. I'm not a huge sweets person but we were walking around FR and popped in to check it out. We were greeted by very friendly owners who were more than happy to...help us. We got a cinnamon roll to take home and it was definitely the best one I've ever had. If I need cinnamon rolls, I'm coming back here. Also got a small pie to go. I wanted to take one of everything but didn't think that would be great for my wallet or my waistline. Everything is made fresh in-house. Please, go here. Lovely, lovely place and great addition to the downtown area!More

Go in for a smell, you'll have to buy as well. Their cinnamon rolls are huge and smell fantastic. Everything is made on premises, and if you go early in the morning you can see some pies in the making. FLavored ROck Candy, home made...jams, and jellies. They even do special orders. I personally can not have sugar and they told me with notice they would be happy to make s/f cakes and cookies. The owners husband is usually there and knows EVERYTHING there is to know about the town of Front Royal. So grab a cinnamon roll and a cup of coffee and sit down for a chat and learn all there is to know about Front royal from this wonderful man.More

I know it's corny, but just walking into this place and smelling the baked goods gives a nasal cavity. (I told you it was corny) Maureen is a master manipulator--she makes you think that it was your idea to buy nearly half the inventory in...the store. She's welcoming, cheerful, informative... The location is bright and spacious with some tables for immediate enjoyment of your prized purchase(s). The cinnamon bun? Colossal. And delicious. Maureen asked if we wanted them heated. "Yes, please!" We also ordered some sweet sandwich-like goods: lemon-flavored and oatmeal-flavored. Absolutely scrumptious. There's an entire selection of spreads and sauces, as well. What's not to love? I don't get to Front Royal often (or ever, for that matter), but if I'm afforded the opportunity to be in the area, Down Home Comfort Bakery will be the reason I stop.More

Track down Maureen and Keith for the cinnamon buns and cookies! The cinnamon buns have made it all the way back to New Jersey several times. They are good to eat with coffee or milk, but I was just fine eating them by themselves. Buying...1 cinnamon bun is just a tease and will have you going back for more.More
