The experience was a flop from the very start. First, the secret door was open. We were so excited to have the experience of asking for a coke and then putting the nickel in the coke machine and then entering this super chic lounge (it’s not chic). We were told to walk in and find a seat but the upstairs was closed. Our option for dining was a cloth couch and a super low table. We ordered a variety of food that was simply OK. Choice of bread on sandwiches would be nice. The fries tasted like they were cooked in old oil. One entree had raw onions in it, but in most restaurants this dish would have sautéed onions so that was a turn off. Not bad food, but not great for the price. We had to bend down to the table to eat our food or put our plates on our laps. This isn’t ideal. Our drinks lacked flavor and presentation. Too expensive for the experience or lack of experience I should say.

Sounds like you came for The Brunch hosted inside LUSH and on the patio - which explains not having a secret door experience because the speakeasy is not open until 5 pm ~ Drinks lacking flavor and presentation is an absurd statement! ~ as for the tables- WE ARE A LOUNGE not a fixed seating restaurant- in a Lounge you choose your own seats and hang out a while~ sorry you do not personally care for a Lounge experience. As a new business still thriving through a pandemic that crushed the restaurant industry ~ a private message rather than a negative review would have been appreciated and appropriate Best Wishes for your breakfast preferences at The IHOP ~ THE PROPRIETRESS

Lush Lounge is beautifully lit with both modern and vintage chandeliers, comfy deep blue velvet banquets, glass tables with softly pulsing LED edges (that's downstairs). The music is soft, one can have a conversation. And the drinks! And the charcuterie boards! Wow. This is a place to linger with friends in satisfying conversation while sharing wonderful meats and cheeses and fabulous cocktails. Upstairs there are silent movies and more drinks and food. The bar is worth hanging at, as well -- watching the hand-crafted cocktails being magically produced. A fine place to spend any night, or every night, if you really want to share with your friends or lovers, and chill.

The drinks here are good but priced similar to drinks in large cities. A 3 to 4 ounce daiquiri was $14. The food is okay - different but not great. The German plate had a frozen soft pretzel that was put in the panini press, a few paper thin slice of sausage, a couple ounces of cheese. Okay but not great. Come here to have a good drink, enjoy conversation with friends. Nice atmosphere.

Thank you for the feedback- Our handcrafted cocktails are made with housemade syrups, bitters, and fresh pressed juices and our rail spirits are middle shelf quality- This makes a drink a little pricier. Our 4oz daiquiri special however was $9 -the only $14 drink on the menu was a negroni made with gin infused with shaved white truffles- As far as the food review ; we are sorry you didn’t enjoy your beer cheese and soft pretzel-For $7 You received 6oz of housemade Guinness beer cheese, admittedly we are not baking soft pretzels from scratch- And we add a sampling of one artisanal cheese and one of our cured meats for tasting purposes. A private message could’ve sufficed instead of a public review you may have been able to receive a free dessert or some thing out of it!

While we admire Lush's attempts to adapt to the difficult Covid situation that developed right after they opened, we were so disappointed with our first visit today. We sat in the Tiki area which is a nice set up but no attempt was made to sanitize our table or chairs after the party before us left. I had to ask them to wipe the table and then it was only wiped with a wet cloth. My husband ordered a Margerita that had no flavor. Some of the items we ordered (conch fritters, Jacked Mac) were pre frozen not made on site foods. The chips were stale, and the fries tiny. We had come to celebrate my daughter's 21st birthday and they completely forgot her meal (lobster roll). They did discount us for that which was fair. The rock lobster roll had claw meat though rock lobsters don't have large usable claws. The sandwich lacked in flavor. My husband had a Reuben which was really the only close to good meal. We were so sad as the menu seems exciting when you read it and something Floyd could really use and embrace but the quality of the food and service was sorely lacking. As locals we would have loved to be able to make this place a regular hang out but it is not likely we will be back.

I am sorry you were disappointed- lets address your concerns We are wiping down tables with Clorox wipes OR sani chem- both kill all required germs/viruses We are training 50% new staff- due to the Covid closure - and have greatly appreciate everyone’s patience. Our server DID indeed forget to ring in your meal- for which we were very sorry - and she was instructed to make price adjustments We understand how feeling disappointed in service can affect your whole oppinion.... The megarita is one of our top sellers and actually generously strong- we are sorry it was not to your liking. Food- most of our products ARE made in house including the conch fritters- Our top food distributor supplies us with the same products used by 5 star resorts such as Primland so the quality and the flavor of the food is something we are very confident in-You are correct about the rock lobster meat- we use both rock lobster and maine lobster meat from 2 distributors- inside LUSH and outside at The Pig- so your sandwich has a combination. I do encourage to try us again- we stand behind our product and atmosphere and are doing a 3 day training course next week with our staff - esp our 5 new team members If you had taken into consideration the collapse of the entire restaurant industry- and private messaged your concerns rather than a public review it would have been appropriate and appreciated Sincerely The Proprietress

It is a good thing they are known for their cocktails because their sandwiches are small, overpriced and poor quality meat. I ordered the French Kissed sandwich and it had 2 pieces of roast beef, one sauteed onion, two slices of mushroom topped with cheese and came with canned gravy. I had to pay $11 for this and I would have gotten a much bigger sandwich from Subway for half the price.

So sorry your first experience was during Covid- and not actually IN LUSH Lounge- we had servers cooking, cooks bartending etc so as to keep everyone employed- ABC and GOV changed our rules on what we could serve and how weekly- definitely not an accurate depiction of our product or service - which is why we would have appreciated a private message and opportunity to rectify the matter rather than a negative review

Given how much the food cost we were expecting to be wowed… was certainly very underwhelming. The filet was cold and on a bed of cold fries that looked like they could’ve been bought from the freezer section of Walmart. My duck was burned beyond recognition and reminded me of dried out pulled pork. The drinks were good, that was definitely a plus. The atmosphere was unique and worth the look. Our waiter seemed scatter brained and fumbled with their ordering device and not being able to get our orders in, kind of just made us feel awkward.

Atmosphere was neat and unique. Menu was misleading. We paid $16 for two entrees. According to the description on the menu, we were expecting a steak with bread and a salad; however, our meal consisted of three small slices of toast each topped with a few greens and a small (think silver dollar sized) slice of sirloin. The drinks and atmosphere were neat. Dinner was pretty disappointing, especially for the price. I really wanted to love this place!

LUSH Lounge
Thankyou for the feedback- unfortunately you misunderstand our concept- As a GASTRO LOUNGE our menu is designed as “small plates” in other words.... EVERYTHING on our menu is shareable- The top of our menu explains what a Gastro Lounge is- Therefor, the basis of your review is inaccurate- you did not order or pay for an entree... There is no “Entree Section on our menu” and nothing claims to come with a salad. In particular you ordered Black and Blue Crustinis. This dish consists of 3 sourdough crustinis EACH topped with a few pieces of thinly sliced angus sirloin, arugula, Fior Di Arancio blue cheese, and balsamic reduction - all high quality ingredients and priced accordingly. Sincerely, The Proprietress

The idea was cool but everything was a disappointment. They charge seperately for food that comes with a drink (a marshmallow, a cherry, a slice of orange) presumably so they show they are selling food. They were out of several items for dinner and the menu is small. We ordered the filet which was a bowl of fries and 4 small slices of what tasted like sliced roast beef to me. The drinks were not even very good. The service was bad and the waitress added additional money to the tip we left.

Susan 1. We do not charge separately for food that “comes with a drink” Our POS system tracks liquor sales for ABC and tracks food item sales for inventory and ordering purposes. But you certainly did NOT get a separate charge for a marshmallow 2. You ordered 4 ounces of filet mignon over fries tossed with minced black truffle-Sorry if you’re not familiar with high-quality beef- We understand that upscale food is not for everyone. 3. If the drinks ( that we just won best in Virginia for ) weren’t good …why did you order five of them to the tune of a $160 bill and then tip my rockstar server $10…. 4. And to accuse her of breaking the law by adding more to your tip, I pulled your receipt and that is an out right lie. 5. One and done is right because you are banned from returning.

The overall experience left my husband and me wanting more! The mashed potatoes and scallops and bacon-drenched Brussel sprouts were absolutely delicious! Ironically, I have never liked Brussels; however, I ordered it for my main dish! In addition to the mouth watering menu, they also provide the quintessential drinks of the prohibition era. I enjoyed the White Rabbit spirit with egg whites and a purple stencil atop highlighting the lounge's logo, as well as, a Smoked Old-Fashion that was a pleasure to witness the creativity and muscle memory of the bartenders. Finally, the varied settings are all very comfortable and accommodating! I enjoyed walking through the various rooms: the bar, the lounge, the silent movie theater, the carnival room, and even the bathrooms. Each area in the remodeled farm house is elaborately decorated to provide an impressive place to go and spend an intimate evening with family, friends, etc. I visited on a Saturday night and returned the following Wednesday for another round! Well done Glenn and Lindsey Parks! We had a fabulous time and, of course, you guys were the best-est hostesses a person could find! Thank YOU BOTH!

We have been frequent diners since they opened on the 100th anniversary of prohibition. Located in a 100 year old house, Lush has an amazing and creative atmosphere replicating a speakeasy from the 1920s, from the secret entrance door to the rear exit. The bar is polished dark woods with a beautiful glass chandelier and a broad selection of liquors, specializing in craft cocktails from the prohibition era. The three other dining rooms each have a theme dating back a hundred years. Adding to the speakeasy theme, the sign in front does not even say Lush Lounge, but rather, "The Blind Pig", a code word from the past for the illegal establishments of the roaring 20s. The menu changes every three months and features unique flavor and ingredient combinations that you are unlikely to find anywhere else. The décor reflects the creative genius of the owner, Lindsey, and brings an immediate grin to all new customers as they enter the bar. Kudos to the chef, efficient barkeeps and waiting staff, especially Chad, a real professional who also doubles as the star of Karaoke Thursdays. Our favorite dining spot for many miles around!

Stumbled upon this place yesterday for lunch and thoroughly enjoyed it. Today we got 2 “Parkway boxes,” with wine, and had a lovely picnic at an overlook. Shaved Parma-style ham, sausage, 3 types of cheese, grapes, olives, walnuts, bread, crackers and orange marmalade. It was a feast!

What a fun and unique experience from the moment you walk through the front door. Expect a surprise! Appetizer and dinner menu were on par with big city fine dining. The drink menu was quite unique with many interesting and entertaining cocktails. Chad, our server was professional, well versed in all menu items and entertaining at the same time. He gave great drink recommendations....we tried several! Lush Lounge is a must go to if you visit the quirky little town of Floyd.

Cutesy theme. If you like tough, old chicken, order the chicken gnocci for $24. I wonder if the food is made offsite days ahead of time and then overheated in the "kitchen". The cook didn't care when I reported the issue with my meal. The waitress was great.

Lush has a neat concept with the speakeasy theme. The building was very stuffy and bartender said the A/C didn’t work very well. The bartenders are also the servers so service was very slow if you sit in one of the themed rooms. They advertise that the food is upscale dining; but it was on the same level as any chain restaurant like Applebees. The cocktails were great; just not for the cost of the visit

My best friend, who enjoys unique bar and cocktail experiences, insisted on going here while visiting Floyd. I’m not much of a social drinker and was fully prepared to be underwhelmed. I couldn’t have been more wrong. The food and drink menus were creative and exciting, and the service was exemplary. Chad made excellent recommendations and made sure we had all of the “can’t miss” attractions in town on our itinerary. The food was criminally good, I wish I could have ordered one (or two) of everything. Will be back, 10/10 DO NOT MISS THIS.
