I gave this restaurant a very bad review last Spring.....but the Chateau is back again ten-fold with the fabulous food and service I always had looked forward to while in Floyd! We ate there for brunch February 2nd. It couldn't have been a better treat...for a wintery day. They generously filled/boxed our pre-ordered the Winemaker's Platter to take with us for our tasting at the winery afterward...But it's the meal I really rave about...My boyfriend ordered the standard bacon-egg-biscuit breakfast of which was quite good considering a standard breakfast. (Where ever they obtain that bacon from should never be lost!) The show stopper however was a toss up between the French onion soup or the Shrimp and Grits. We both agreed it was truly THE BEST we've ever had!!! We've since been to two other well reviewed French restaurants and their soup pales to compare.
The service was outstanding as usual. I was impressed another server from previous visits had taken the time to visit at our table. (THAT is what makes a good business.) So Chateau Morrisette, I thank you for returning to your perfection and consider myself fortunate to experience it again!More
Don't get me wrong. I love Floyd, Floyd County, and SW Virginia. I visit once or twice a year, every year. However, it ain't opera, the Mona Lisa, and haute cuisine. But, then again, you don't go there for that.
The Chat. Morrisette people have...invested millions of dollars into their vineyards, winery, store, and restaurant. They try to be a quality operation and, by in large, they succeed.
The dining room is bright and open, but still in a style that is in touch with the Blue Ridge. The waiter was a friendly lad and food selection was good and of good quality. We needed to get to a show at the Floyd Country Store and they got us out on time.More

Thank you for your kind review! We are happy you enjoyed your experience not only at Chateau Morrisette but in Floyd as a whole. We hope to see you again soon!
Elegant dining in a stone winery. Subdued lighting. Wonderful choices. This place is a few miles from the center of Floyd. Nested in the hills surrounding Floyd. Not far from the Blue-ridge Parkway.
Deserves to be dressed up for.
Amazing dinner, serves, and the views of the vineyard are gorgeous. The vineyard tour was very professionally organized as the tour guide was very knowledgeable. I believe we would recommend this trip to anyone who has not experienced
We have wanted to visit for several years and finally had the opportunity. It did not disappoint and was fabulous. Our server, Stephanie, was relaxed and helpful. The food was delicious and excellently presented--catfish, duck and ribs, appetizer and apple crisp dessert. The wine was...just to our liking and we took more home. Stephanie also helped us plan the rest of a fun evening in Floyd, VA! Only regret is that we didn't arrive when it was light out to see the great scenery.More
