We had dinner for 21 people, of whom about half stayed overnight. The menu was an attractive one and the whole operation was run on the night with the efficiency of a swiss watch -- food got to the right places, timing was perfect, and the wine service was very efficient. I would thoroughly recommend this venue for a large... More

We forgot to photograph the delicious monkfish, steaks, pies and share-boards because we were too busy enjoying ourselves! There was nothing to worry about throughout our evening because the staff took care of everything, despite us being a large table. This pub's staff are one step ahead with great management that was clearly overseeing their charming and happy waiting team!... More

Have eaten here several times before, this visit was good but not as good as before. Food was lovely but waits were long and because we were at the back of restaurant, when things were missed no one came back in time to check if we were happy, one pork roast dinner missing crackling, by the time we got apple... Visited here for dinner, it's in the middle of nowhere but a lovely setting. Menu isnt huge, but a good selection and spread to suit most tastes. Service was good, and the food was excellent We didnt have dessert as it was quite expensive for a standard dessert, but the rest of the food & drinks were fairly priced for... More

Fantastic wine list, varied from approx £25 bottle to well over £1000! I ordered half bottle of Sancerre (think it was £24) which was lovely. Hubbie ordered starter of squid, main of pork loin and cheese board all of which were tasty, fresh and well presented. I only ordered a main which was steak which was like rubber! The staff... More

I don't usually write reviews, mainly because I can't be bothered but I was really motivated to write this because of the fantastic member of staff, Hannah. She was definitely worth the 30 minute ordeal of trying to remember my login details, so here it is, my review: My husband and I have been coming here for a few years... More

We visited the White Horse for lunch and because they did not have my wife's selection ended up having two coffees and a soup costing £12 in total. According to the menu the soup was to be served with bread but came without and had to ask the waitress. When the bread a arrived it was a piece of dry... More

It's sadly not often that you find a business that's attention to detail and consistency is second to none. But the White Horse is that place. Every element has been tweaked to perfection from the service level to the drink options to the excellent food. The decor is wonderful and the location is perfect for walks and for access to...
