Was visiting the area and tried out this place. Top notch service and great tasting cuisine. No waiting either, as they were quick to have my order ready to go. The decor of this place is very pleasing, relaxing, and simply beautiful. Nice atmosphere, decor,...and staff make for a great restaurant. I visited twice and ordered the vegetarian pad thai, which was excellent. I was also impressed with the portion sizes, as I felt it was considerably more than enough for me. I needed my meal customized due to my dietary restrictions, and they accommodated me perfectly by replacing the tofu with cabbage at my personal request. I definitely enjoyed my meal. 5-Stars all-around here for the people, the atmosphere, and the food !More

I have been at this restaurant many times and enjoyed the food, and I am likely to go back. They have great dishes. Once part of a chicken dish had to go back to the kitchen as some of the chicken were uncooked.

Ordered take out for some pretty typical Thai things - beef/broccoli and drunken noodles. The beef was way too chewy and obviously just not cooked right or of poor quality. The noodles were barely edible, all stuck together and hard - so they weren’t cooked...right either. Flavor was bland on both. I ordered #2 spicy, which for some Thai places is a nice kick spicy level- that was actually a level downgrade from the way they normally serve it apparently and that was my mistake because it had no flavor. The normal cook must have been off. It was also $50 for 2 beef/broccoli, drunken noodles and a summer roll. I know Thai can be expensive but this felt like I burned a $50 bill. The rice was fine.More

We have eaten here at least ten times. The restaurant is welcoming and the decor is lovely. We enjoy sitting in the booths that offer a lot of privacy. It's not usually very crowded but during you meal you notice many people stopping by to...pick up take- out. Depending on our mood, we may just order soup and appetizers. We enjoy the Satay, spring rolls, blanky shrimp, and our very favorite- vegetable tempura, it is lightly fried and delcious. My husband loves the Tom Kha Gai Soup, I've tried it, great flavor but a little spicy for me. I have enjoyed the vegetable and Wonton soup. The house salad is just okay- nothing to write home about but I don't expect great salads at Thai Restaurants. The Pad See Ew is flavorful and delicious and the Pad Thai is good. The curry is flavoful but also a bit spicy. The service is great and we will keep going back.More

Sweet Rice is one of our go to Thai places to go in the Falls Church/McLean area. Don’t be fooled by the place usually looking empty. Often times you can tell whether you should stop in to a joint if it is crowded or not,...but not so here. Every time we have come here for lunch or dinner it is empty. We carry out the majority of the time. But the fact that the tables are empty is not a good indicator in this case. The food is fresh and delicious. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. They have always answered any food allergy questions. The only reason I am not giving 5 stars is because we always eat the same thing and I can’t speak to other things on the menu. We are vegetarians. Our favorite entree is Pad Pak veggie style and we love the Vegetable Soup. We have tried a few other entrees, appetizers, and desserts and have not been wowed. We always go back to our favorites because of the pleasing flavor palette. Our favorites are definitely 5 stars. Sweet Rice offers steamed brown rice in addition to the standard steamed white rice. I love their brown rice. It is short grain lovely little pearls of deliciousness! So although I’m only giving 4 stars, I highly recommend you give it a try. In fact, if I could I would give 4.5 because of the previously mentioned lack of trying more things on the menu. You will receive 5 star service and always get fresh Thai food.More

We've been here 3-4 times, and the Thai menu has always had seasonal specialties, often some things not found in other local Thai restaurants. Curries are my favorite, especially the green curry. They make it veggie or with chicken. Also noodles are tasty, especially with...lots of Chinese greens bok choy. Single beer always adds to the enjoyment. Service has always been great -- very friendly, especially if you speak a few words of Thai, or at leasts try!More

Our family enjoyed dinner here recently. This lovely place deserves to be much busier. The food is excellent with a starter cup of hot ginger drink(non alcoholic)-a nice touch. Appetizers we're good and entrees we're very good. Prompt service was appreciated. A couple in our...group have food allergies and they were very gracious in accommodating them. Note for December: there is a beautiful Christmas tree and the children can pick a candy cane off the tree. How nice is that!?More

We come here for takeout, but the interior has been redone recently and is really well done -- lots of natural wood and I'd recommend dining in. Sweet Rice always has the friendliest staff, attentative and courteous. Love their Pa-Nang -- has a nice kick...to it. Black Sticky Rice and Mango is a must desert. Give this place a try - you won't be disappointed.More
