We have lived in Falls Church for nearly 20 years and have never been to this restaurant. A friend told us how good it was and we used Bite Squad to have a delivery. Wow! This is great food. The dumplings were amazing and the lamb and chicken dishes excellent. We will absolutely be back! Highest recommendation!

As usual, our dining experience was outstanding; the service is friendly and efficient, the atmosphere warm, cosy and quiet, and every dish was excellent. The new item, braised lamb shank, was outstanding - tender, tasty and accompanied by very well-seasoned pilaf. All vegetable sides were also excellent, and wine prices are very reasonable.

As best as we could tell, you can't go wrong here. We had quorma-e-seib, quabili palow, shalgam palow, and quorma palow, with sides of pumpkin, spinach, and carrots and cardamon tea, and everything was great. The decor is nice, the service is friendly if not terribly swift, and the price was $126 for four before tip. Highly recommended. We'll be... More

This has been one our favorite restaurants in Northern Virginia for years. We’ve finally lost count on the times we have had dinner there! A favorite of my wife’s, we’ve had at least one of her birthdays and a Valentine’s dinner here, and we’ve been pleased with every visit. This last time we enjoyed their Appetizers of Bulanee Kachalu (turnovers... More

We stopped in for dinner because we were in the area and saw it was on one of those coupon sites. What a find! Wasn't sure which entree to get and took the server's recommendation. The Quabili Palow was great! Tender lamb with rice and seasoning. My wife liked her Banjan Chalow, which was eggplant. Not a fancy place, but... More

Northern VA is foodie heaven and this is one of the best places in NoVA. I spend quite a bit of time here as my daughter's family lives here (when they're not out of the country) and we make sure to eat at Panjshir every time. I almost always get Kadu Chalow with lamb. The way they do pumpkin really... More

Love this place, especially the pumpkin dishes (Kadu Chalow) with or without lamb. Yummy bread, rice, salad, and desserts. The cardamon tea is tasty enough to convert this coffee drinker! Excellent service. Warm and professional. The good mood permeates the place and other diners. Park around back in the small lot or along the white wall along the side of... More

This is a smallish (not large chain) restaurant really nicely decorated with booths and tables. Wine and beer served; a good selection of bottles and even a few half-bottles. There was also a table card that listed just the glasses available. Then the menu tempts with so many things: in addition to entrees there are "side orders" and "appetizers" along... More

Used a groupon to try out this place on a sunday night. I was not disappointed. The waitresses were pretty friendly and quite a few people were present in the restaurant. It located on Main Street in Falls Church, parking is in the back and you can enter from the back too. My friend ordered a palow and I ordered... More

As s Brit, I'm used to Indian food, but I had never tried Afghan cuisine. If Panjshir is anything to go by, I've been missing out. For the uninitiated, the food here is somewhere between Indian and Middle Eastern, with vegetable dishes, kebabs and fragrant rice prominent. Everything we tried was good. The vegetarian platter was a great way to... More
