Our first time to this restaurant, renamed Padaek, and we were not disappointed. The spicy eggplant, served in chunks vice slices, was over the top -- creamy and rich.

Have been back several times after the first visit and each time the food was really good. We went on a Saturday night recently at 6:00 pm and had to wait 45 minutes for a table -- so keep that in mind. I think the...name has just changed though. Wait staff is friendly.More

The above is the new name of an established restaurant specialising in the cuisine of Laos and the adjacent North eastern Thailand called Isan, where about six times more Laotian people live than in Laos itself. We discovered that the mainstay of this cuisine is...the sticky rice served in small bamboo baskets. The dish we enjoyed the most was Lettuce wrap with lots of fried fish, rice noodles, galangal, ginger slivers, Thai egg plants and of course the fish sauce or Padaek. The Knap was a big fillet of cat fish wrapped with shrimp paste and grilled in a banana leaf. Really unique. We also had the Orm, a stew of vegetables and salmon. All these dishes can be enjoyed with a lot of the sticky rice.More

I went with a friend after reading a review about it in one of those national surveys of the "Best Asian Restaurants outside of Asia..." or something like that. Was a bit skeptical when we drove up -- in a strip mall next to Shoppers...Food Warehouse. Wow!!! My friend is from NYC and was equally wowed! Probably the best Thai food I've ever eaten -- and I've eaten in a lot of very upscale Thai restaurants.More

Hands down, this is my favorite Thai restaurant. Everything is always so good! If you come here, I recommend the Chicken Pad Thai, Beef salad, and my favorite , the Crispy Basil Cat fish. Simply outstanding!

This restaurant has a reasonably good Thai and Laotian food.Lunch buffet at 12$ from M-F is a good way to try different items. The place can get pretty packed from 12-3pm,so go early,if possible. The restaurant is closed on Tuesday.Their Tom yum soup(spicy) and Laos style cod...is delicious.Service is quite good and the waitress keep making sure that water glass is full.(maybe some items are quite hot and spicy).More

I finally got out here after about a year of hype from friends and food articles. To be honest, I was underwhelmed. I thought the food was not as good as Chef Seng's other restaurant Thip Khao. I lived in Northern Thailand and visited Laos...a bunch, so maybe my standards were set too high but the food fell short of my expectations. I got the sai oua (one of the better dishes), laab kai (not great), naem khao (not my taste, by my wife loved it), and nam tok kor moo yang (decent). Overall the meal was not bad, it just didn't live up the hype. For Laos/Northern Thai food I would rather go to Thip Khao or Little Serow downtown.More

Ok, I admit it, I love this place. I always order the Sai Oua because honestly I could just eat that and be the happiest person alive. The last two times I've ordered the Laarb with chicken thai hot and it's HOT. I love spicy...food and this is borderline too hot to eat, but still so flavorful that I keep on shoveling it in. I love it. Last time I was here, we were sitting next to what I have to assume was a state department employee (because old white guy speaking Laotian is pretty unusual) who swore that this was the only restaurant he has found in the states that got Laotian food right. If you check out their reviews on yelp, you will see I am not alone in my praise!More

It's always hard to find a good Thai place, so was happy to find this tiny hole in the wall behind the Home Depot strip mall. Food was surprisingly good - favorites were the papaya salad, pork laab, and the pad se ew. I've never...experienced food from Laos before and was pleased with all of the recommendations from our waiter. Spring rolls were just ok. There is also a lunch buffet. We arrived around 1:30/2:00 on a Monday and it was packed. Will come back to try more dishes.More
