Good but not great

If you're looking for a "quiet" dinner, this is not the place. The food was good, not great. The service was also good, not great. My main complaint was that we had a 6PM reservation, we arrived at 6PM but were not seated until 6:20PM. We had tickets for a show that evening and seats were first come first seated. The delay caused us to have less desirable seats.

This Place Rocks

This is a really popular spot in Falls Church, VA. We went on a Saturday night, and it was mobbed! But we grabbed a drink at the bar and did not wait all that long. The place was well staffed, and the service hustled. Our orders came fairly quickly, despite the volume of people they were serving. The food is really good, so are the drinks. The live music on Saturday night rocked -- but note that it was really loud on the outside patio in back, and that's probably not an ideal place to sit with really small children. Good parking available nearby. Fast check out with credit card swipe right at the table.

Very large shaded patio

A friend and I stopped for lunch and were pleasantly surprised by the large patio. The entire parking lot has been converted to a patio, but there is parking on the street, as well as free parking in the Kaiser garage. We got pickle chips, coconut crusted chicken, and shrimp with Greek salad. Everything was tasty, but they were extremely skimpy with the sauces.

If you know seafood, go elsewhere

I understand the conundrum restaurants have in the era of COVID of maintaining profits, but this restaurant takes that too far. The food is way overpriced for the quality it is. The shrimp salad consisted of what seemed like store-bought lettuce, raw carrots, and a singular shrimp skewer. The crab cake sandwich was below average as well. As a side, I only received 4 onion rings as well. Not to mention they serve you everything on disposable plates as if you are at your 7 year-olds birthday party. If you have minimal standards when it comes to your food and you enjoy good live music, this is the place to go, but if you actually want good food, go elsewhere. I will say though if you have a get together of +5 people it might suffice,

Nasty boss or manager just ok or below ok foods

For the last 2 visits we got same very arrogant and rude restaurant manager. I wouldn't go back for that rude and insulting behavior. Shrimp tasted like low cost frozen farm mass produced from Vietnam. No taster. Never again. I am food and wine expert.

A great little beach bar in the city

We live on a Florida beach and can spot a ‘Wanna-be beach bar’ a mile marker away. This bar and restaurant, Claire’s Beach Shack, was really authentic. All it needs is sand on the floor. Seafood was so good, as if it just came off the boat. Cold beer for hubby and hot cider for wifey. Plus our two little dogs were welcome in their outside dining. We first went for lunch, then came back the next day for dinner. The grilled shrimp with butter was yummy!

Great food and fun decor

This is my second time here, first time as a solo. It has great vibes, servers are wonderful and the decor is pleasantly funky - that’s a new term 😉. Their crab bisque is superb with LOTS of crab in it, their chicken burrito is generous with the chicken!

Poor service, poor food, not the Beach Shack we used to enjoy

We had poor service and poor quality food. Some food items did not arrive at all. Some meals were undercooked and unseasoned. Staff asked frequently to clear our plates while we were still eating. This is not the Beach Shack we used to enjoy.

Restaurant odors. They serve wine only in the plastic cups, no glass

My last Sunday visit at Clare and Don's, Falls Church, Virginia. It was most atrocious restaurant odors. They serve wine only in the plastic cups no glass. Non professional bartenders or cooks and on top arogante owner. I do like the burgers and carne but service is bad. Wine is love cost served in plastic.

Creole cosine on your table

Have you ever try the American creole cosine ? So, try Jambalaya. It is a rice-based dish peppered with sausage, chicken, shrimp, vegetable and spices from the Caribbean. Besides you can eat fish tacos with corn tortillas. And the last but the least the live Jazz music was amazing.

We had Dinner there and when we went in the staff was very kind. They came for drinks right away, gave us plenty of time to look at menu. I got Fried Oysters they were delicious. When we left they thanked us again. Loved the décor

Get Your Groove On At Clare And Don's

Local musicians on the weekend make this the place to be when you don't feel like cooking and want to enjoy yourself. Every Friday, Saturday and Sunday evening feels like an impromptu barbecue. The food is average, drinks are good and the staff is excellent!
