We were here at 4 so it was late lunch - early dinner. As always, Coastal Flats has consistently good food. Some things are better than others but the portions and quality are reasonable - especially around expensive NOVA. I've had most of their menu...items. This time I had fish and chips or shoestring fries. Good meal, but I'd personally prefer a little less breading. All-in-all though it is a good restaurant.More

Positives, the food was good. Negatives, it took about 30 minutes for them to bring us a bottle of wine. Once the wine arrived, the waiter, in great detail, trained another employee how to open and serve a bottle of wine. This was unprofessional to...be having this training session at our expense. How many bottles of wine must they open each night? Train employees in private how to open and pour wine. We were never refilled on our waters. Later in the evening I saw the servers "cheat sheet" on specials and we were only told about 1 of them. We ordered the Red Snapper special, but when they arrived the servers kept calling it grouper. We should have been told they changed the fish on us.More

Great menu with a lot of selections and ample portions highlighting seafood and a creative menu that includes meat and pasta. Impressive list of cocktails, wine, and beer. Salad swith protein such as chicken or shrimp was very good. Service was especially excellent, friendly, and...attentive. It is a large space for business meetings or families in a large mall at Tysons Corner.More

First positives. The fish was succulent. We were table of four and enjoyed grouper lunch special, sea bass, salmon entree and fish fingers. Two had lobster bisque, crab and shrimp fritters and the fried oyster appetizer special. Two bread puddings, one key lime pie for...dessert. 6 non-alcohol beverages, one bread basket comprised the order- grand total was $280 including generous tip. A tad pricey and more than its sister eatery Ozzies in the same area which we often frequent. The waiter, Hicham, was great. Very solicitous. Now this is what could be done better. We were a party of four older adults - and felt very crammed in a narrow booth. Most uncomfortable. To make matters worse- before we had finished the first course, the entrees arrived- two at a time and we scrambled to clear and stack plates to make room. Our plates were delivered by two servers - not our waiter. Thus is there a communication issue? Desserts were fine and it felt good to have room on the table for the three small plates.More

Apparently, they are owned by our favorite Sweetwater Tavern restaurant group. They do everything right at all their restaurants! Probably this one is their best run restaurant in our opinion. We tried the shrimp and grits, the warm goat cheese salad and flash fried calamari....All entrees were perfect. Staff is very attentive and impressive.More

Amazing time at coastal flats in fairfax. They had us wait until the entire party was there to be seated which is fine. But the service was remarkable. Chaz was our server and we were treated like royalty. He was funny and super attentive to...our needs. We had a birthday celebration for my mom and he and other servers made it so special for her. And the food was Divine! Highly recommend the raspberry lemon drop martini it is delicious and comes out with such style and is very cool to watch it be served. The bread is quite literally the best thing Ive ever eaten and all the entrees we had were incredible (especially the salmon). Can’t wait to come back and we will be requesting Chaz every time.More

Came here for dinner and ordered a pecan trout, lobster roll, deviled eggs, and Ozzies bread. The food is both nicely displayed and proportioned; tasted great. Service was attentive and amazing. Seemingly very popular - this place was crowded and busy. Decor is lush and...beautiful~More

Whenever we fly into Dulles and have a layover that allows us to have a meal, we dine here! We shared the Pecan and Goat Cheese Salad, which was large enough for the two of us and was delicious. Then we each had the Hickory...Grilled Fresh Fish of the Day, which was Red Snapper the day we dined. You could tell the fish was fresh and it was prepared perfectly! It was so flaky and tasty! Then we shared the Chocolate Waffle for dessert. My husband has celiac and this dessert is gluten free. It is so rich and delicious and the ice cream and fresh whipped cream that came with it were perfect sides. The entire meal was fantastic and we will definitely be back the next time we have a layover at Dulles!!More

We (3 adults and a service dog) stopped by to have dinner at 2048 and the hostess seated us. We requested a seat on the patio and she asked if a hight top was ok…we said it was. Once we sat down the bartender came...over and informed us that the bar was closing but maybe a server could accommodate us, we said that was fine..we understood. The bartender went inside and there seemed to be a discussion about us. Then a manager comes out and asks us if our dog is a service dog. The dog was sitting quietly under the table and has a service vest on. We said he was but then the manager proceeded to tell us that the bar was closing and they would not serve us. We were disappointed and embarrassed. The patio was more than half full of patrons but we left humiliated and went to Ozzie’s. The Ozzie’s bartender Rachel was fantastic, she set us up and even brought our dog a bowl of water. Next time we will just skip coastal and go straight to Ozzie’s!,,, FYI, when we passed coastal to go to our vehicle there were still patrons on the patio and at the bar.More

We recently had dinner at Coastal Flats while visiting the area. We had a reservation and they are usually needed. We were seated quickly. The menu is heavy towards seafood but there are other choices. Our food was very good.....my wife enjoyed her lobster roll....Service was a little too efficient. Our entrees came before we had a chance to finish our salads. The timing should have been better. We'll be back.More

My wife loved her dinner, the salmon which she said was excellent, as I remember it. In this area, and specifically this center every restaurant, even Burger Shack has at least two or three decent vegan options. Half of the restaurants next to this one...have a vegan menu. I would be giving five stars anyway if the waitress hadn’t started treating me like a freak after asking if there were vegan options. Her demeanor changed immediately as if I was obnoxious for asking. But she wouldn’t look me in the eye or ask me anymore questions after I asked initially. She never refilled my drink the entire time or looked at me after that point and she made it really awkward by specifically avoiding eye contact and not talking to me. The manager was super nice and I appreciate that he didn’t lie or try to push something out that would’ve gotten me sick. Apparently they don’t have olive oil, they use butter or eggs on or in absolutely everything, even the rolls which a couple reviews for a different coastal flats said were vegan. Kinda wish they weren’t pre-made because I remember how good they were and I wanted them. The manager offered to rinse the butter off some noodles but my system is just bad with dairy. To be clear, I didn’t go vegan by choice. By body got really weird about dairy and meat and egg proteins after getting Covid. I had to get tested to figure it out. My choices are get weird scary looking psoriasis on my face and scalp or don’t eat any dairy and meat and alcohol… since Covid is still around I can’t take the meds that keep Covid at bay because they all work by suppressing your immune system. It sucks. I used to love this place a few other Coastal Flats locations have reviews showing they have vegan options. I should’ve called ahead and asked. Again, it would be a five star review ANYWAY if the waitress had acted like the manager - polite… understanding and courteous. I expect a waitress to think “this guy still drinks liquids and probably wants a full drink. He’s still a human.” I didn’t stiff her tip. 20%. Don’t assume I’ll be a d*ck because life forced a weird diet on me when I spent a month in the hospital. That’s on me but it’s not my fault. I wish they had something / anything for vegans, even if it’s some freezer gardein or a black bean meal they could throw together or just something. Like 6% of the country is vegan now. And all of the Asian restaurants and burger joints and Mexican restaurants around here cater to it, so I was surprised. Don’t treat me like I shouldn’t even be here or assume this is a weird life choice I want to make that makes your job difficult. I just don’t want itchy weird psoriasis because then you’ll really think I’m a freak - I can’t eat most of my favorite foods or alcohol and it sucks. Trust me I’d be having the salmon if I could. But please treat me with basic respect, assume positive intent, look me in the eye and keep my drink filled.More

Absolutely love the place 👌🏽 The seafood here is AMAZING 👍🏼 my fav was the Tuna appetizer and Mahi-mahi special. Our server (originally from Turkey but didn’t get his name) was very professional and his recommendations were spot on 😁👍🏼 whole staff were super friendly...and professional which proves managment are doing well and the chef and kitchen staff did a great job in creating well balanced tasty dishes that were on the table in a very reasonable amount. Would love to come even if I try the same dishes because they were full of flavors 😋More

The food is good & they have a lot of good options on the menu. You do now have to pay $1 for the rolls (they used to be free) so it isn't too much and worth it. Our appetizer did come out the same...time as the food for some reason. I liked that the booths have high backs. Only some if the staff had masks on - it was pretty busy but you can make reservations & we had no wait once we got there to be seated.More
