This restaurant was filled with people eating crabs by the dozen when I visited. There aren't too many crab restaurants in this area, and this one seemed very popular. Other entrees included many other seafood dishes. I'm not sure about other offerings, as I was hunting for seafood! Entrees are good size and reasonably prices. Tables are covered in paper,... More

We were there on their busiest day of the year. Fathers Day. Place was mobbed with parking in their narrow and unpaved lot a real challenge. We got in after an hour wait but the wait was worth it. While we are waiting for our server to get to us we watched try after tray of crabs being served to... More

This is indeed a crab house. They do not spend extra on the exterior, just the basics. Mounds of crabs served Maryland style: paper table cloth, a knife and wooded mallet for utensils. A great experience and you do not have drive to Maryland. Good food, a bit pricey.

If you have never been to a real crab house the experience of it goes beyond how the food tastes. I mean, how many places serve you your food with a hammer? And the mess! Crab smithereens all over the place. It's a good time and for those who love crab, the price isn't prohibitive. Definitely worth trying for those... More

A group of 20 or so of us showed up at the door mid-week without reservations, and, after the initial shock wore off, we were seated and served. If it comes from the sea and can be steamed or fried, Capt. Pell's has it - small, medium, large, extra-large, and humongous. Naturally, the prices reflected the sizes. This is not... More

Unlimited crabs for a great price, but a TRUE hole in the wall. My grilfriend's had heard they had great crabs, one thing was left out... HOLE IN THE WALL. What else is there to say? LOL

I've been to this crab house a dozen times and each time is great. They are always busy, but the services is always great! I've been to a couple of other crab houses in the area, but I find that the crabs here at Captain Pell's are pretty meaty. The other seafood options are just a great. If I don't... More

A family of seven went for crabs and were pleased to find a terrific selection of other seafood as well as corn on the cob, chicken tenders and a wide variety of sides. The crabs were cooked and seasoned to perfection, with a large amount of what looked a lot like old bay seasoning. The broiled scallops were large and... More

This place is a Fairfax institution. For appetizers we ordered fried clam strips (a bit chewy as expected, and maybe a tad dry, but tasty nonetheless, and a half dozen raw oysters (big, sweet, and juicy and only $10). I ordered the softshell crab platter, and I got 2 huge crabs, battered and fried to perfection, plus a pile of... More
