Real Close.....Very Close...

Im fussy- I was raised Kosher and were often in Manhattan in the 60s 70s 80s visiting Bubbe and other family. And yes an egg cream in the Lower East Side originally had an egg in it :) We have visited dozens of delis all over and this place is very good! I make my judgement based on the quality... read more

I got liver and onions from there. It is not something I normally get but wanted to try it. I think liver is an acquired taste which I apparently don't have. I think they did a great job though. The onions, bacon and roasted red pepper masked the taste of the liver a bit. Everyone else loved what they got... More

I truly enjoyed my experience at Chutzpah.Attentive service, excellent breakfast, and terrific atmosphere. My cheese, onion, and onion omelette was cooked to perfection. I enjoyed talking with the owner who was very personable. I enjoyed this place so much I will have to come back and try the sweet potato latkes.

I ordered the reuben sandwich. It was big enough that I took half of it home, but the ratio of the ingredients was not that great: too much corned beef and not enough sauerkraut or dressing. If you like reubens, then you obviously like sauerkraut, and the portion was rather skimpy. It seems really hard to find a place that... More

We were visiting from out of town and our friends brought us here for lunch. They warned us about weekend crowds - this place has a following and was indeed very busy - BUT we were seated fairly quickly, and it was well worth the wait! The motzo ball soup was hot, filling, and delicious; the reuben was excellent; the... More

Really enjoy this place, come hungry. Saturday and Sunday mornings can be busy but during the week you should be OK to quickly find your table and enjoy the delicious food. Reasonable prizes.

This place has the best bagels in town. I go there about once a month. Cannot speak for anything else, for I just get bagels here. The service can be very rough....think the soup kitchen in Seinfeld. However, if you simply get your food, shut up and eat, it is just fine.

This place is merely average - overpriced for the quality. Checked it out, because I am a dedicated NY deli fan. Tried the pastrami on rye, which is the benchmark by which I judge any deli. No. Not even close. Pastrami was dry and stringy. Anything but melt in your mouth. Also had the chicken soup with matzo ball. Nothing... More

For us, Chuzpah's is the real deal. Every time we go. One of the best pastrami sandwiches in all of Northern Virginia. And the other NY dishes in the deli case are terrific too--chopped liver, genuine NY pastries, black and white cookies. Wow. Excellent. Maybe there are some inconsistencies in the kitchen ... so many TripAdvisor reviews are low-rated and... More

Not exactly a genuine NY Deli but it was pretty good. The corned on rye with Russian was tasty. The pastrami mot as much. But it was still good food for what you get in this area.
