I used to go to Chutzpah all the time, minimum once or twice a weekend. Over time the quality of the food has gone down but the service remains good. The knife cuts on the potatoes is inconsistent, leading to poorly cooked potatoes. The omelettes...come swimming in grease/butter as do most of the egg dishes. I am sorry to say I am no longer a regular, but for the money I can do the same things at home for less.More

It is real real close to the real thing. My standards are high for such occasional feast. Katz is the reference, they make it daily that is the difference: a super sized, NYC tall, greasy, juicy, melting pastrami/Reuben sandwich. Eric go for it and I...will be there ! Everything else is great, Pickle upon arrival, service is NYC deli grade, the owner is great. Plenty of choices, real NYC deli choices. Carry on !More

Visiting my daughter, decided to go to Chutzpah (New York style deli) for lunch, always good. Friendly staff, good service. Large menu, plenty of options to choose from. They have a breakfast menu till 11 during week ( later on weekends), but they also offer...an all day breakfast menu. They have bagels & bialys (shipped in from New York City), with different options, plain, cream cheeses, nova lox, belly lox, homemade whitefish salad, salmon salad ; they have smoked fish platters with tons of side dish options ( extra charge); appetizers such as sweet & sour stuffed cabbage, herring, chopped liver, knish, latkes, noodle kugel and more; soups such as matzo ball, chicken noodle, hot or cold borscht, plus a soup of the day; salads such grilled chicken or shrimp, spinach, caesar, 2scoop over house salad or 3scoop (chicken, tuna, egg), the Man salad which has brisket, corned beef, pastrami with either potato or macaroni salad; Grilled sandwich platters such as a Reuben, meatloaf, smoked turkey, & more variations which include choice of bread with hand cut fries or onion ring or sweet potato fries or latke. Specialty sandwiches such as a Koufax (beef brisket&grilled onions, the Sailor pastrami& grilled knock wurst with onions, melted Swiss on rye, to name a few, specialty burgers, Angus steak burgers (2/3/4 patties); soup or salad with half sandwich. Over stuffed sandwiches on choice of bread includes potato or macaroni salad or upgrade to fries, latke, onion ring, sweet potato fries; choice of filling pastrami, corned beef, brisket, smoked turkey, chopped liver, tuna, egg salad, ham, tongue and more. Hot open faced sandwiches; entrees either al a carte or as a dinner (house or Caesar salad plus 2 sides) such as roast chicken, schnitzel, meatloaf,Atlantic cod, half BBQ chicken, shrimp scampi, veal or chicken parm, salmon & more. Desserts, kids menu. Located in a plaza setting, so plenty of parking, accessible but limited seating so it can get full fast, especially on weekends or prime lunch hours. Complimentary cole slaw & pickles. Free refills on sodas or iced tea.More

Great service and incredible food. Makes me feel like I'm back up north every time I eat here! The bagels are awesome and the cinnamon roll French toast will keep you coming back for more!

They should open a branch in New York. The menus is extensive. We arrived late AM so 2 had brunch and 2 had lunch. The corned beef has was mostly meat and very good, though slightly salty, but that may be individual taste. Bottom line......highly recommended. The sandwiches were deli meats that were good quality. One had an egg and nova dish that was delicious. This place has high standards and if I lived here it would be a regular breakfast stop for me. If you like old style deli at moderate prices this is for you.More

I’ve eaten from Chutzpah Deli two times. The first time was when they catered a luncheon my husband and I hosted after my father-in-law’s funeral. We had assorted deli platters and the food was good, but the white fish salad brought me back a second...time. This time I went to their location in Fairfax to get some corned beef, coleslaw and, of course, some white fish salad. I could not have been more disappointed in the abysmal service I received. From the minute I walked in the door, the guy behind the counter treated me like I was the biggest inconvenience he had to deal with all day. The deli had maybe three tables of eat-in customers and me. Yet every time I opened my mouth to order, I got exasperated sigh’s and disgusted looks. When he was ringing up my order, I realized I forgot the coleslaw. I even tried to make a joke and asked if it would really throw off his night to pack a container of coleslaw. He huffed and said, “What??!!! Do you mind if I finish with my other customer first?” Then he huffily unpacked my corned beef and white fish salad to make room for the coleslaw as if I just asked him to move a mountain. When I relayed the story to a friend, she confessed that when they arrived to deliver the food previously for the post-funeral luncheon, the delivery guys were very rude and difficult to deal with. She didn’t want to tell me at the time and stress me out unnecessarily during a very sad time for me and my family. This time, because I was hosting a lunch the next day, I put up with the employee’s rudeness and disdain towards me for the privilege of paying $83 for a pound of corned beef, a container of white fish salad and a container of coleslaw. I have to say, the experience left such a bad taste in my mouth, the white fish salad didn’t taste so good the second time around.More

As the three of us are all from NY we thought we'd try to satisfy our craving for NYC deli stables. We'd give it a 3.5 if we could. Plenty of parking out front. They hit a very good on the classic reuben and the...combo rueben. The egg cream was also very good. Cole slaw, very good, potato salad we thought just average. The roast beef was a disappointment as it was pretty fatty and more well done. Our wait staff was friendly and attentive. We'd probably go back to try other items from the extensive menu to see how other NY staples were.More

My husband brought me here as a surprise on date night because he knows my love of Ruben sandwiches. I was not disappointed! Absolutely delicious and we will be going back!!! Also learned that they sell half-baked bagels so we bought a dozen and brought...them home. Baked some up for our kids following the instructions we received and they were fantastic and got a thumbs up from everyone!More

This was one of the worst deli's I ever eat at, the pastrami was tough and dry and with to much pepper. I would never return!
