We always have a very nice luncheon when we visit Golden Leaf and they do everything they can to accommodate our larger group. It is especially nice that they have private areas where we can dine together as a larger group. We recently had lunch at Golden Leaf and had an unfortunate incident (not related to eating lunch) and the day manager and staff were extremely helpful to us. They really went above and beyond to help us out. We are so appreciative and will be back!

Excellent Filet Mignon...we met a friend/business associate for a week night dinner. We both had a medium rare+ filet mignon with 2 scallops and it was delicious. Our friend had fish & chips with homemade Mac & cheese and was very pleased. They had a great wine list and high end bourbon in the bar. Staff was friendly and service was great. Will definitely go back when we are in town.

The Golden Leaf Bistro was a nice find before a business meeting. Pleasant atmosphere with excellent service. Delicious blackened salmon wrap with fries - a little heavy on the salt, but quite good. Enjoyed the location near the river.

Due to Covid the menu was very limited & pricey from pictures I’d seen of their other menu. As for music, the band warmed up & didn’t play. we asked if we could sit on the patio for the music. we were told we could as soon as something became available however they sat another family out there instead. We had the wedge salad which was a good size but it had so much dressing on it the lettuce was swimming. We also had the stuffed chicken breast. It was tasty. The service was slow however.

My husband and I had eaten here a few years ago for lunch and the food was excellent - a little pricey for lunch but well worth it. Three of us ate here last night for an early dinner on our way to a concert and we will not return. My friends ‘large’ spinach berry salad was the size of a side salad anywhere else. The same for my wedge salad. $15 and this was without meat. My husband’s $18 burger was ok, served with a meager order of fries, but way overpriced as well. A glass of the house Merlot was $9 (price was not on the menu, btw). Service was great, as the server tried his best to make up for what was an otherwise disappointing experience. Spend your hard earned money somewhere else.

I took my best friend here for her birthday on Saturday around 2:00.. we ordered a couple drink, artichoke bruschetta appetizer, kids chicken tenders.. the artichoke bruschetta was about 5 pieces of bread with cheese on too, their was only artichoke on one piece of bread and it was about the size of a quarter and this appetizer was $15. The drinks were great. The waitress said that the kids meal did not come with a drink.. although it clearly says on the kids meal that it does indeed come with a side and drink. We were also upcharged for getting Mac n cheese instead of fries which the waitress also did not let us know would be extra when I asked if he could Mac n cheese instead of the fries. $50 for just this. Cannot say I will be back here after a could other incidents this was the icing on the cake for me! Note my friend is from out of town also so naturally she was not impressed! We picked up and went over to the Pangea and had a great meal and service!

First visit while back in town visiting with family. The staff was nice and the venue is charming however we were a little underwhelmed by the food. Everything on my wife's meal (salmon) was heavily salted (even the broccoli). My pork was good however the sides were bland (also broccoli). Overall the experience was positive but I expected better based on the pricing and the reviews. We will give them another chance before writing them off completely.

Stopped by this little gem on our way to Asheville. Great ambience, tasty food, and friendly service. Would have used the excellent patio had it not been raining. Had the breakfast plate and the eggs Benedict. The breakfast was an improvement on the of standard and my wife thoroughly enjoyed the eggs Benedict. She said rhe sweet potato fries were the best she ever had. I would certainly eat here again if passing through Danville.

Arranged to have a bridal brunch here. Emails went unanswered or very slow response. This should have been a clue. I wish I had seen prior reviews about catering and events at this place. Arrived day of event to everyone being clueless. Food manager said he didn’t find out we were coming till he came in at 9:00am. Arrangements were made weeks in advance. I don’t understand why no one knew about us. Nothing was done as discussed. Food was good once we got it, but very disappointed things didn’t go as planned with arrangements made in advance. Please be careful. I wouldn’t trust them with any major events.

I visited the Gold Leaf Bistro for lunch today. It had been several years since I had gone there to eat. I was disappointed in what I found. We both ordered the Bourbon Roast Beef Hogie with fries. A long time elapsed between getting there, having our order taken and and another long wait for our food. Two other solo diners came in after us, (they had different servers) both sat in booths across from us, ate and left the restaurant before we had our food served. I found our plates to be skimpy. There was very little roast beef, and did not cover the sandwich from end to end… also the serving of fries was small. I did not like the taste of my roast beef, it was much too sweet! The tea was weak and had no taste. I would never order this sandwich again! As for the tea, skip it and order water…

Overpriced and slow service. Server was very pleasant, but had to be tracked down for drink refills and to get our check for a not very busy late lunch. Ordered what I thought was an entree Southwest chicken salad. Supposedly had corn, black beans, tortilla strips, and I thought, chicken. It never occurred to me that a $13 salad didn’t have a protein. They were out of black beans which I said was fine, not realizing I was only getting a bowl of lettuce with some corn and minute strips of tortillas. The other food our party ordered was just average. Seemed like a cute place, but didn’t intend to spend almost 2 hours there for overpriced lettuce.

I ordered an appetizer which was fine but there were four of us and finally after waiting way too long for our entrees told our waitress that if we didn’t get our food soon we were leaving. The food had obviously been sitting too long before making it too our table because everything was cold.I ordered a western omelette which is $16.00 by the way and sent it back. It was one of the worst omelets I ever seen in what is supposed to be a high end restaurant. I wasn’t charged for it of course but out of the party of four that I was with not one of us was impressed. I tipped our waitress 20% but she could have done a much better job. Had to get up and ask someone for napkins and silverware which should have been on our table before being seated. Not impressed most likely will not go back. Was totally expecting better ☹️☹️☹️

Great Option for Take Out. I had pecan bourbon salmon, parmesan risotto and crispy Brussel sprouts. The salmon portion was generous, delicious, and cooked exactly as I requested. While the risotto was quite tasty, the portion was so small it seemed like it was a leftover scraped together for the last serving. The sprouts were VERY VERY salty. Kept this from being 5 stars bc I couldn't eat them. I'll chalk up to an anomaly and definitely recommend this restaurant to others!!

We were in town for an event at the Virginia International Raceway. Ate at the Golden Leaf our first night. We had the fried cheese, fried oysters, and shrimp cocktail for appetizers. The scallops and the crab cakes for our main course. All the food was fabulous

Exceedingly high price for less than mediocre food/taste. Poorly prepared small portions. The appetizer was $16.00 for 4 slightly smaller than a meatball cheese and some grain was pale and tasteless. The main course was no better served with a thimble sized portion of mixed veggies-NOT worth the price or time wasted waiting for service. DON'T wa$te your hard earn American dollars.
