My mom is a regular visitor to this area and brought us newbies here for lunch. Lots of choices even for our potentially picky group. Staff is friendly and helped direct us to the closest , shaded and best part of the Virginia Creeper to hike with kids. It was a perfect recommendation and afterwards we returned for dessert!:)

We stopped here for lunch at the midpoint of our VA Creeper Trail ride. It has a nice variety of sandwiches, fries, chips, and drinks. It also has a neighboring Ice Cream shop that friends of ours enjoyed. It's the most convenient stop off of the trail. The food was well prepared, quickly served and a nice portion after having... Before heading out for a bike ride down the Virginia Creeper Trail, we stopped for breakfast to "fuel up our bodies". I ordered the breakfast wrap on a sun-dried tomato wrap with just eggs, cheese & mushrooms. Our party of 5 ordered biscuits & gravy, egg white omelet and hash browns and .other similar items. The food was made to... More

After a ride on the trail this was a perfect stop. Chicken salad was delicious, had mandarin oranges and pecans in it. Tasty homemade chips to go with it. This will be our stop everytime we are in the area:)

Quaint atmosphere and very friendly. Plenty of choice of food and deserts at good value. Reuben sandwich and peanut butter brownie were excellent. Quick service. Nice air conditioned break from the trail.

We were in Damascus for work and we ate here twice. The first time was for a sit down breakfast and the second time was a grab and go. The sit down food (typical breakfast plate meals) was pretty good but nothing to write home about. I had the biscuits and gravy and was pleased with it. Some others in... More

Had the buffet 2 days in a row after day hikes in the area. Friendly staff and the food was fresh and delicious. The caramel cake was the best I've ever had since my grandmother passed. Highly recommend this restaurant.

We were biking the Virginia Creeper Trail. When you first enter Damascus, In The Country is located on the right side of the street (before you get to JC's bike rental). Our friends always stop here for their sweet potato fries (and the dipping sauce). They were right, very good. I also had the chicken tenders, which were very good... More

I have been eating here off and on since James Blevins has owned the place, about five years now and I have never had a bad meal. James and his staff takes on a small town attitude with a professional flair. I own a hostel here and guests who have eaten here have had nothing but good to say about... More
