Limeade, yes be sure to get one, on a hot afternoon could anything be more delicious? Made fresh in front of you, refreshing to be sure, pair with a sandwich and some friends and you could not have a more pleasant lunch experience. The ladies...who work there are charming, the store takes you back in time. If I was ever in Charlottesville again I would be sure to visit again.More
This morning whilst running errands on the Downtown Mall, a quick stop in at Timberlakes, Debbie was behind the counter prepping fresh chicken salad, a quick and easy decision on whole wheat toast, bread & butter pickles on the side and a fresh cup of...coffee, it just doesn't get better than this.More
Timberlakes Drug Store and Soda Fountain is the REAL deal. Has been on the Downtown Mall for years providing excellent service and a 'backroom' soda bar with homemade lunch and desserts. "John Boy" (Earl Hamner) of the The Walton's fame use to visit when he...was a young man growing up in Schuyler, Va.More
Suffice it to say that I wish more places like this still existed. Stepping into Timberlakes is like stepping 50 years back in time -- with beautifully arranged displays, personal, intimate, home-town feel. The nostalgia we felt was incredible . . and that was just...in the drugstore portion. The soda fountain/luncheonette is in the back, complete with stools and counter, glass cake covers, fresh-squeezed lemonade, and a working fireplace. Excellent offering of sandwiches, personally and lovingly prepared at reasonable prices. I hope this place lasts forever. In the mean time, GO.More
Found this little gem whilst visiting Charlottesville. A good ole fashion malt shoppe diner in the back of a am old fashion pharmacy. It is definitely worth the visit. Have a milk shake you won't go wrong. The triple decker club house is fantastic. We...were greeted by Mary....a lovely woman with a devilish smile and wicked sense of humour. Go try it!More
A pharmacy with great personalized service and a beautiful cozy lunch counter in the back. They even have a working fireplace for cold winter days. They take care of you as places like this did when I was growing up.
