We enjoyed the bistro food at this down town eatery. The outdoor cafe had a great menu and the four of us ordered two appetizers each to sample the offerings. We were no disappointed. Located in the heart of down town that has been turned into a restaurant mall. There are plenty to choose form and we were delighted with... More

We've eaten here a handful of times and it's always delicious!! It feels like a French cafe. Simple salads and sublime dishes make it a perfect spot for a casual lunch. I think it's the same owner or chef as Fleurie, one of our favorite Charlottesville restaurants! Have a glass of white wine with your lunch to get the full... More

Went here for the second night of the "new" menu. I ordered the elderflower soda, which was good. My husband got a beer. The entrees were a total let down. I got a whopping 10 gnocchi with my meal which looked more like an appetizer. I am a small person, who thinks a half sandwich from panera is enough food,... More

First, their signature pea soup is wonderful and seems healthy. Pretty sour cream design on top, garnished with tiny pieces of radish. Two of us had trout, nicely presented with fresh green beans and toasted almonds. Large portions so we had to bring some home. Neighbor had (spicy) lamb meatballs-no leftovers. Profiteroles are generous made with site-made ice cream. My... More

We sat on their patio and it was very pleasant watching the sights on the pedestrian mall. Food was tasty and very good - especially the risotto. Service was excellent.

I had the trout almandine for lunch, outside. It was exceptionally good. The service was very good. My waiter knew the menu, took pride in the food, and was attentive. I would definitely return. The only reason I'm not giving a 5 star rating is because the atmosphere was nice, but 5 star.

We had a nice meal here. The morning before our reservations, the building upstairs sprung a leak causing the restaurant to move reservations from the main dining room into another more casual area. They handled the crisis with grace and our overall experience was great. We both had the special involving scallops and risotto. Wonderfully done.

The food is generally quite good and sometimes truly excellent. Share some mussels and wine followed by steak frite with a frisee salad (topped off with profiteroles!) and you can imagine you are in France! Except the service is both friendly and efficient :) Petit Pois has only a small space inside, but a more generous outside seating area for... More

Came across this restaurant whilst visiting Charlottesville for the day and walking down the Historic Downtown Mall. They have a lovely, shaded outside seating area on the pedestrianised mall. The service was efficient and friendly, the food delicious, and is also good value. I had a lovely 2 course lunch for $25 (including tax). Recommend.

Very nice. We took our English Bully. The food is very good. Small portions for a man but we were there for lunch. The atmosphere is great and our server was wonderful (sorry forgot his name)! Prices for lunch are great!
