We recently ate at Zocalo and had a great dinner. We sat outside on their gorgeous patio and enjoyed the beautiful weather. We ordered many items from the menu. HIghlights included the gazpacho, the cheese fritters, and the halibut. We had a few problems with our dinner which is why I can only give my review four stars. First, the... More

Our experience at the restaurant was wonderful. A busy Friday night and we were seated promptly. Although the menu is not expansive, each dish appears to be carefully prepared and thoughtfully chosen. There is enough variety...seafood, fish, steak, pork, chicken. They offer a nice variety on their beer and wine menu as well. The atmosphere is upscale without being uppity... More

Dined with a party of eight and the service was terrible, of course they knew they would get paid a 20% (or about $75 tip) regardless. Water glasses were left unfilled, once refilled no ice was provided with the water. Has to request ice once we were able to get the server to look at our table. Food was average... More

We were initially disappointed when we were told our niece's wedding reception would be at a restaurant (no dancing!), but we quickly got over it once we arrived. The restaurant was closed except for the reception, so ours was not a typical experience. I can say that the service was superb. Both of our entrees were excellent (black bean and... More

We had a great meal and the cucumber martini was heavenly but there was a very large group at a table nearby and the noise became very unpleasant and probably influenced us to leave rather than linger. The exposed brick walls and bare floors probably don't help with sound. Service was great - our waiter was at the end of... More

Love this restaurant. An annual visit is a must. I always order the scallops, but all my friends lived their entrees as much as I did. Great mojitos too!

Been here many times. Nice whether sitting on the patio or inside. Food and service are consistently good. Appetizers get changed up frequently which is fun. My favorite entree is the salmon with couscous with goat cheese. Crisp skin, moist inside. The scallops are also yummy- seared on the outside and tender inside.

Two of us ate here last week after cruising all the selections on the downtown mall in Charlottesville. For some reason I'd assumed Zo.ca.lo was Mexican food. Instead it is American with a hint of Spanish cuisine. We were seated promptly, no reservation needed even on a Friday night. The outdoor dining is very nice in summer under trees and... More

We stopped at this nice restaurant for the happy hour. The cocktails and mussels were great, service excellent. It is a very nice place to enjoy the Charlottesville downtown.

We had forgotten to make a reservation over graduations weekend and the only decent place left was Zo.Ca.Lo. It was PreFixe @ $56.00 per person for a 3 course meal. Wine and drinks not included. New York Steak with Chimmi churri was excellent! We were a group of 7 , celebrating a wonderful graduation , with drinks, 4 bottles of... More
