We stayed near the Downtown Mall (easy walk from either the Marriott Residence or Omni), and were looking for the ultimate local breakfast haunt -- someplace that came highly recommended by pretty much everyone we queried. Unanimous: this is the place. It's a family establishment, and has a great vibe. It's also rather small, so plan on waiting if you're... More

We built our own omelets and they came back perfect. Creative twists with the home fries and biscuits. Attentive and friendly service. There was a wait. Based on the number of people listed the estimate was an hour. Lots of people decided to go elsewhere so our wait was less than 30 minutes. Worth the wait.

Bluegrass Grill is your typical American greasy breakfast joint and you can expect all of the usual breakfast menu items. If you're looking for a breakfast place downtown, this is your best bet.

I love going out to eat but I usually don't want to waste our out-to-eat budget on breakfast food because it's often equal to whatever you'd make at home. This is not the case at Bluegrass Grill! Their breakfast menu has tons of items, and literally something for everyone's tastes. I had the Smokey Joe and it's one of the... More

Small restaurant with about a dozen tables, and no reservations taken. You put your name on the list when you arrive and if you're not in earshot when it's called, you get removed from the list. Despite these drawbacks, the food is delicious and servings ample. I had an eggs Benedict with salmon and bacon hollandaise, fried potatoes and biscuits... More

We heard this was good so we decided to try it out. It was a Sunday morning so it was real busy. If you go, make sure you notice that their system is that they have a clipboard by the door and you sign in and wait. We each had a great breakfast. My husband had the blueberry pancakes which... More

A friend recommended this place for breakfast on a Saturday morning and what an excellent recommendation it was. My stomach is still craving more! I had the Southern Belle which is a MUST and another person in our party had the fresh blueberry pancakes which filled the plate for $4. It's small and quite busy but worth the wait and... More

They were a little busier than they could handle, but it was worth the wait. Service did improve as more staff came in. We ended up here because they were the only place open at 7 am but I would go back in a heartbeat. Their home fries were the best I've ever had! Food was freshly prepared and everything... More

Great breakfast..we were a party of 6..and each ordered something different. All were fabulous. There is a reason the place is always busy.

Bluegrass Grill is one of my favorites in Charlottesville though my wife and I often enjoy a good breakfast. I ordered The Duke and it was delicious. The eggs were poached perfectly and the flavors melded together just right. I asked for the grits instead of the home fries and that may have been a mistake. The home fries are... More
