Made my first visit last night after hearing so much hype about this place. Very cool atmosphere with an awesome staff. The burgers were ok..They are specialty burgers and you get so much food. I was not blown away with them though by any means. I have definitely had a better burger here in Charlottesville but it was still very... More

We ate here at the end of a day trip to Charlottesville. We walked up and down the mall and then walked in for a bite. We got a cozy high-backed booth which is perfect for little kiddos. The bar was loud but not too loud, also perfect when eating with little ones. The burgers were really good and my... More

The restaurant was quite crowded--we were there for lunch--and unfortunately took first available, uncomfortable side booth. But, service was good, burgers were very good, and the beer choices good. My wife was not impressed with the truffle fries, but I liked them. Not sure this is #4 in town, but I'd go back if I'm in the mood for a... More

Excellent service. Delicious food. Nice beer and wine list. We built our own burgers, and had to pay for sides, that's how they roll. Cost us 10$ per burger 8$ for salad and beer wasn't cheap. But I will pay 66$ for excellent food and service in Virginia.

Some friends recommended this to me, but said there's always a wait. I came around 3:30 and only waited 15 minutes. I ordered a plain American Burger and some onion rings. The onion rings are thick and have a lighter coating. The burger was fantastic! They use all local ingredients, so it made the burger taste that much better. Great... More

Charming interior. Great servers. Stick to the specials. The burgers are fantastic. Low fat beef cooked as you like it. Unfortunately, I ordered the turkey burger and was less than pleased. I'd have done better with a frozen patty at home. Fries are attractively served but tend to be greasy. Lots of good craft beers and plenty of sports on... More

Went to Citizen Burger Bar for lunch on a COLD Virginia day while walking down Main Street. Lunch was very good, enjoyed the peppers appetizer. I ordered a chicken sandwich, I probably should have had a burger. It was good, but not spectacular. Everyone who ordered a burger really enjoyed it. The fries were also very good, especially the truffle... More

If you're wandering down the Downtown Pedestrian Mall around lunch do yourself a favor and stop in. You'll get 1/2 pound of local hamburger on a fresh made bun, fresh cut fries and a dill pickle slice that you'd swear came right from a deli. You'll have a choice of building your own or going with some standards. We both... More

The food was ok, ordered the grilled cheese #6 which was really tasty though a little greasy. Friendly service and wide selection of local beers. Loved the patriotic decor and the overall look of the place. I recommended if you are walking around the shopping area and feel like a good beer.
