This restaurant is excellent for takeout. The olives, feta and artichoke appetizer is very good, but beware - the olives have pits. The pizzas are outstanding.

We went to Fly's for a late Sunday lunch. My college student is new to Charlottesville and we thought we would try out this place. It was a filling station turned cool, hip restaurant that serves pizza, salad and other casual food. The pizza was outstanding! We also had the salads that were very good as well. The pizza was... This was our first time back in a while since being very underwhelmed with two other visits. The sausage pizza was amazing. Great crust, cheese, and sauce. Gazpacho completely on point. Greeted warmly and promptly at the door and our server Meg was super helpful and friendly. We will definitely be back, SOON.

I ordered a prosciutto panini, which was so greasy it gave me a stomachache. It came with potato chunks that were sort of soft and nondescript, as well as a few pieces of lettuce that I thought were plain, but my lunch companion said they did have a little bit if vinaigrette on them. My friend got a calzone which... More

New ownership has increased prices and gotten rid of happy hour. If I wanted an expensive wood fired pizza I would go to Lampo, which is much better. Fry spring used to be affordable with a good beer selection; not anymore. I've spent less on much better pizza in downtown Boston; Charlottesville is already saturated with overpriced restaurants. Hopefully the... More

We had a group of 10 including 3 children and they were able to accommodate us on short notice. Please note there is very limited parking in their lot and you will most likely need to park on the street, however this was not an issue for us. Food was very carb heavy but also good. We had a mix... More

My partner and I live in the Fry Spring Station area, and have visited Fry Spring Station many times in the last couple of years. This is our first time going after the re-vamp of the establishment and the new menu. We visited more in the past because of the great half price pizza deal for happy hour. When they... More

We ate at Fry's Spring Station this evening -previously a favorite. The restaurant has been renovated indoor and out and there is more outdoor seating. Unfortunately, the menu was also "renovated" and not for the better. We missed our old standby items. The pizzas were soggy and the sauce tasteless. What a disappointment.

Friendly staff and outdoor eating on the nice days. Good word fired pizza. The mushroom version is especially flavorful. Nice to see half orders of both the salads and pasta dishes. A half order is a very good portion. Wedge salad dressing was quite tart and lacking in blue cheese flavor. Penne pasta was nice with the addition of fresh... More

They have a new hot oven and make several thin crust pizzas. Easy to walk to from anywhere your UVA student is living. Friendly staff. They could handle a crowd on graduation weekend.
