I loved the mixed greens and beets salad with a chicken kebab added. My friend accidentally ordered a salad that included an ingredient that she is allergic to, and they replaced it with the salad she meant to order at no charge. I’d definitely eat here again.

As always had so good dinner with my family at Sultan Kebab, I am a regular guest there and I feel like it’s my duty to highlight this amazing spot. I don’t remember even one time as I came there and it was something I was not be happy about. The food is always fresh and delicious, the service is outstanding, the ambiance is amazing. I had a pleasure to meet the owners of the place and you can see why the place is such a success. Cause you always can see when it’s made out of passion.
My favorite dish there is lamb and chicken combo, for appetizers I would recommend to try their cheese pastry and beef pizza lahmacun. But honestly, I have tried all the menu and you will never go wrong. Just love this place a lot and I know you will too.

Visited this amazing spot with my friends
I didn’t expect this place be that good, even though reviews were reassuring. The food was just phenomenal, I hadn’t try Turkish food before, and now it became my favorite cuisine.
I tried combo kebabs of chicken and lamb and I can’t express enough how juicy it was. The plates are very generous with reasonable prices. Finished my dinner with kunefe desert, and , oh boy! That is to die for. Also service is excellent!

We came by for lunch one weekend. I got the Doner Kebab sandwich. It was a good portion of meat but though the meat and bread were a little bit dense. I really enjoyed sides. My wife got the Choban Salata with chicken. I really enjoyed the flavor of the salad but it was very rich with the lemon dressing. The meals were fairly good but took forever to get our food which was not ideal for lunch.

I had an amazing time with my friends at Sultan Kebab restaurant!
The food was absolutely delicious, with every dish bursting with authentic flavors. The kebabs were perfectly grilled, juicy, and tender, and the sides complemented the meal wonderfully.
Atmosphere was warm and welcoming, making it a perfect spot for both casual dinners and special occasions.
Also the staff were incredibly friendly and attentive!
Absolute best spot in Charlottesville!

Delightful lunch at this Mediterranean restaurant. Sat on the outside patio. Servers were very attentive and I noticed that they assisted each other as needed. Salads were freshly made and portions were generous. Humus was made in-house and served with warm fresh bread.

We enjoyed a lovely dinner outside on a warm evening at this great spot. We ordered baba ghanoush which was tasty but somewhat runny in consistency and served with bread instead of pita. We asked for more bread and received more of the fluffy bread warm out of oven but were not told there was an additional charge. Dinner platters of lamb and ground beef and lamb were huge and delicious. I prefer the lamb kabobs with rice, salad and hummus. We had 3 pieces of baklava with ice cream which were enough to share. Service was good and friendly.

I went here for the first time today for my birthday with friends and I have to say I was completely impressed. Almost everything we had was absolutely incredible. The bread they serve is soft, fresh and delicious. We got the lamb and izmir kofte and chicken and the meats were absolutely delicious and so flavorful. I have been to several turkish restaurants and this place does it right and with great prices!! Also they give wonderful and large portion sizes, none of us were able to finish our meal. I had to drive an hour to come here and it was worth every second of my drive.

Sultan Kebap is a gem in Charlottesville, with its authentic flavors and fresh ingredients. We had such a great time exploring the delicious Turkish cuisine. Starting with Kisir and Aegean salad sets a wonderful tone for the meal, and it's great to hear about the high-quality produce they use. The combo dishes, particularly the Adana kebab and chicken, along with lamb, must have been a feast for the senses. It’s also nice to see the Chef Owner Serhat personally engaging with customers and sharing his culinary inspirations. Sultan Kebap is a must-visit for anyone looking to enjoy authentic cuisine.

Me and my friends had a wonderful dinner at Sultan Kebab. The food is just so fresh, delightful and made us so happy.
We ordered a lot of food, the plates were so big, but it was so delicious that we couldn’t stop eating. The prices are reasonable. The stuff is friendly. Just amazing experience. Next time I am in town I ll be there again.
And don’t forget to order Kunefe dessert, and thank me later

Good choice but certainly not one of the top restaurants
The food and service was uniformly good. The ambiance was a bit flat and we did have a screaming child detracting from the vibe. I guess we were disappointed because the reviews were glowing and the ranking so high. In our opinion there are many better restaurants at this price point. We found it to be pricey for Turkish food at around $65 per head including drinks and tip.

My husband and I came here for lunch. The service was good. The food was not great. There was a piece of bread missing out of my husband’s sandwich. My entree was supposed to be the steak and lamb kebab platter. What came out was a pile of under-seasoned rice, thin strips of some mystery meat with tomato paste, a small salad, and a blob of yogurt that took up half the plate. The weirdest part is there were chunks of bread hidden under the rice and meat. It tasted *okay*. I didn’t get any vibe of love or authenticity from the dish. Based on other reviews, I was hoping for something more.

We dined outside under a tree in this wonderful place in Downtown Charlottesville. The lunch menu contained a wide variety of delicious choices and chose 5 of them, all delicious. The baklava for dessert was served with ice cream and was unusually delicious. The service was very good. The bill afterward was also a treat.

I have been coming to this restaurant when visiting Charlottesville for many years and have never been disappointed. It’s a true Turkish restaurant with fast and friendly service. There is also an outdoor patio, weather permitting.
I recommened:
The vegetarian plate, also available as vegan, is beautifully presented and completely fills the plate. If you are not vegetarian/vegan but want to sample the different offerings of Sultan Kebab this is the dish to request-- hummus, white bean salad, Aegean salad, baba ghanoush, kisir, dolma, basmati rice, and veggie mashed potato served with homemade pita bread. A very filling dish and highly recommended.
I have never been disappointed with any of the menu items I have ordered. The lamb is the best I have ever eaten. My favorite appetizers - the hummus casserole, sigara boerek, dolma, lahmacun. Desserts – rice pudding, kuenefe. And no Turkish meal would be complete without the Turkish hot black tea.
This restaurant does not disappoint!

This is a nice little restaurant with tasty food. Our mains were big dishes and we felt they were good value for money (though the ‘pita’ was not the unleavened bread I was expecting but was nice anyway). The dolma we had to start were good but the halloumi we had was just two very thin slices. Having eaten halloumi in Turkey and Greece we know it is usually more thickly sliced and then it actually has a better flavour (as well being a more substantial and better value starter). My husband had baklava for dessert and it was nice but could have benefited from more honey to make it less dry.
The staff were really friendly and the service was quick. The restaurant has lots of Turkish themed decor that is very interesting. Make sure you study the wall mural that has been done by a local artist...
Overall I’d definitely recommend this restaurant for a good value filling and tasty meal.
