Glad we found this little place...stayed overnight in Blacksburg and found this gem. Wide variety of beers with a solid bar and food menu. The food came out fast and was very tasty. We had the tzatziki and pita appetizer and pita sandwiches/gyro for dinner....Service was fast and efficient. Our waitress, while not rude by any means, definitely didn't appear as friendly and outgoing as the other waitstaff that we saw interacting with other customers. Otherwise, great location with a wide variety of food and drink selections. Definitely worth a stop when you're traveling through Blacksburg.More

The food and beverages were good. The service was a bit slow. The accommodations were okay. Admittedly it was a busy day and they were trying to adhere to the COVID protocols.

We arrived for an indoor dining at The Cellar around 5:30 on a Thursday and were instructed to choose our own table. The tables were well spaced and about 1/4 full at that time. Within minutes of sitting down we were greeted by a friendly...server and given menus. Our server returned shortly and took our drink orders, which arrived in another 5 minutes or so. The menu at The Cellar is large and has many gluten free options. My son ordered a gluten free cheesesteak, which is very hard to find. He said it was some of the best gluten free bread he has ever had and he enjoyed the cheesesteak immensely!! I ordered a small greek salad and gluten free pita pizza--both were delicious. My husband ordered the large greek salad with grilled chicken. It was huge and very good as well. Our food came out in about 15 minutes. Overall we really enjoyed our meal, the service, and the atmosphere at The Cellar. It was a great experience, especially if you are gluten free.More

The food here is really good. Service not so much. We have eaten here multiple times, only because our daughter really likes it. Their Spinach Artichoke dip is amazing. If you don’t mind crappy service, give it a try

Came to celebrate my 22nd birthday as a single person alone just wanted a bloody mary that's qll and the bartender said they were closing at 11. They say they are open until midnight. It was 10:43... and all I wanted was one drink. The...shacker tin was out. What was the issue? The bartender claimed it was slow. I would've ripped nicely. I just got off work as a fellow service industry member. I just wanted a drink for my birthday. Good chicken tenders. This is about thr 4th time this has happened at this establishment including a time where the bartender was too lazy to see me in 5he cold protected tent outback. The cellar is a downtown bar. They should not be skimping customers. Period.More

We were in town for one night and ordered take out from Cellar. It was easy to order online. We picked up at the bottle shop - very friendly wait staff. We ordered 3 pizzas - one was gluten free - all were delicious. We...also ordered the hummus platter - which was very tasty and really good! Lots of fresh vegetables and pita/chips. We had added a note to ask if we could have both pita and corn chips (gluten and gluten free) and they supplied both! The chicken kabobs and the side of mixed potatoes were also delicious - especially the tzatziki. We also got gluten free brownies - pre-packaged but good and the chocolate mousse which was very good. Highly recommend. We'll be back if one of the kids attends VT!More

Went for dinner, ordered dip, which came right out followed by my soup only a couple minutes later and then my dinner right after that. I asked if they could keep my dinner warm while I tried to quickly eat the dip and soup. When...they brought my dinner back out, it was cold. Had to send it back to get heated up. All this and the food was at best average. Would not recommend.More

One of those must-stop college town restaurants. Cellar has a huge menu, so whatever you're hungry for, they probably have it. We've always been happy with the pizza here, but don't overlook some of the other Italian dishes--lasagna is especially good. Disagree with the comments...about the service as we've always found them both pleasant and timely. They also do a good job with takeout.More

From start to finish, food and staff were great at this restaurant. The history is so unique and enjoyed the greek food included all throughout the menu. Highly recommend the chicken kabobs or one of the pizzas.
