The Cellar is good for great service, nice food, and a fun and casual atmosphere. You can eat outside, inside in 4 places: the main restaurant, the bar, the side room, or the Cellar which is very cool. The service is always good, as they...have enough servers. I love the Greek Spaghetti. Prices are very good if you are on a budget. Beers are a specialty, but other decent alcoholic beverages and non-alcoholic beverages are available.More

Went to restaurant prior to Va Tech graduate school graduation. Very busy at lunch time. Even with all the people and business, was a good experience. Food, drinks and server were all good. Gyros and burgers very good.

Nice atmosphere, pleasant waitress and helpings were generous. Greek Pasta dish was tasty. Pizza crust was machine made & disappointing! Toppings were good , but menu was misleading on cost. Overall, it was good , just not great.

Always tough to get in during football weekends but we snagged a table downstairs. Got appetizers, beers, gyros and pizzas for 6 and enjoyed every minute of it!!

If you’re a college student who likes tasteless food, an extraordinarily loud indoor dining area and at-the-table point of sale “guilt tipping”, then this is the place for you. If you like the quieter atmosphere of eating outside, rest assured the scheduled food delivery truck...will arrive during the lunch hour and favor you with diesel fumes from its noisy idling engine while the driver operates a clattering lift gate and walks a hand truck right past your table. The mirrors on opposite walls of the dining room are not only effective providing the illusion of a larger space, they also reflect many conversations where each diner must yell at each other in the hope of being heard like caffeinated geese. A side of fries arrived with my “Prime Rib French Dip Sandwich. Halfway through the chewy gristle which was more bun than meat and an Au Jus that looked suspiciously like coffee, our server returned and asked if we wanted ketchup for the fries. “Duh, this is America”. I totally get it, it’s a college town. You expect chaos, speed, noise and kitchen carelessness. But Just a few tweaks and attention to detail would elevate the experience tremendously above all the other dives in the area. The menu is great, the location is prime and the facility is charming, but it falls far short of what it could be.More

We have eaten here before so we knew the drill about just grabbing a table and waiting for service. We sat down at a dirty table and waited. We saw tables after us sit down and served right away. We waited 15 minutes with no...service. We then tried to flag a waitress down and the 2 we tried both obviously ignored us. Even an acknowledgement that someone was coming would have been nice instead of ignoring us completely and making us feel like we were not welcome at all. After about a 25 min. wait a waitress came to serve us. Our waitress (Cam) saved this from a 1 star review. She was great - friendly and provided fast service.More

We grabbed lunch before leaving our Virginia Tech Cadet. The food was delicious. Basic menu with lunch specials. My husband had the blackened burger and said it was the best he has had. Service was a little slow but I think they were overwhelmed very...quickly due to VT cadets and family finishing up move in.More

We eat dinner there. The staff was awesome. We ate outside on the front patio. The tables are first come first serve. We ordered the mussel appetizer, it came with bread, and they were incredible. Soaking up the broth with the bread is a necessity....Their lasagne is also very flavorful. The saw a few other pasta meals come out and they were platefuls. You need to try it when in Blacksburg on Main Street.More

A great place to chow down after a game. Lot's of options. There was no greeter and we had no idea on how to get a table until one of the guests told us just to wait for somebody to get up. Strange, but it...worked. Overall, decent meal. Like all places downtown after a game, crowded.More

Glad we found this little place...stayed overnight in Blacksburg and found this gem. Wide variety of beers with a solid bar and food menu. The food came out fast and was very tasty. We had the tzatziki and pita appetizer and pita sandwiches/gyro for dinner....Service was fast and efficient. Our waitress, while not rude by any means, definitely didn't appear as friendly and outgoing as the other waitstaff that we saw interacting with other customers. Otherwise, great location with a wide variety of food and drink selections. Definitely worth a stop when you're traveling through Blacksburg.More

The food and beverages were good. The service was a bit slow. The accommodations were okay. Admittedly it was a busy day and they were trying to adhere to the COVID protocols.

We arrived for an indoor dining at The Cellar around 5:30 on a Thursday and were instructed to choose our own table. The tables were well spaced and about 1/4 full at that time. Within minutes of sitting down we were greeted by a friendly...server and given menus. Our server returned shortly and took our drink orders, which arrived in another 5 minutes or so. The menu at The Cellar is large and has many gluten free options. My son ordered a gluten free cheesesteak, which is very hard to find. He said it was some of the best gluten free bread he has ever had and he enjoyed the cheesesteak immensely!! I ordered a small greek salad and gluten free pita pizza--both were delicious. My husband ordered the large greek salad with grilled chicken. It was huge and very good as well. Our food came out in about 15 minutes. Overall we really enjoyed our meal, the service, and the atmosphere at The Cellar. It was a great experience, especially if you are gluten free.More
