We had the Black and blue sandwich, the harvest pork and the South West chicken all super delicious! Everything seemed to be made from scratch, which you don’t see that a lot. Large portions. The fries were amazing! The service was superior! The owner took time to stop at every table to make sure each customer was happy with their meal. The owner also took time to tell some history of the town and of her restaurant, which was very interesting. The restaurant is absolutely gorgeous and full of memorabilia from the N and W train company. Thank you for the amazing experience! This restaurant is a “must” experience!

Great food, great service. I had the Black and Bleu Prime Rib Sandwich which was delicious. My mom chose the Liberty Chicken grilled chicken breast, and she raved it was tasty and juicy. Lots of variety on the menu from salads to sandwiches to steaks. Dessert menu looked great, but we were too full. Jacob took great care of us, making recommendations and being ready to serve without rushing us. Fun decor paying homage to building’s history as a train station.

My wife and I had dinner at this restaurant for our 45th anniversary. I had eaten here a number of times in the past and have always found the staff to be attentive, timely and very helpful in the service of meals here. This time was no exception. Even with the whole Covid-19 thing service was still cheerful and sharp. They were serving a full menu as in the past. The food was great, as we've come to expect. We will be going here again as soon as we get back to Bedford.

In just four days in Bedford we had three meals here. Fried green tomatoes were awesome. We also had crab cake sandwich, steak salad, chicken salad plate, crab dip, key lime pie and oreo cheesecake. All of it was delicious and the service was great. We were there on a rainy day looking for things to do indoors and three people stopped by the table with advice after we asked. Very nice and the food was great.

You can run in for a quick bite or come and linger but our choice was to linger. Start off with Wing Dings, Pimento cheese bites and crab dip to get your group in the mood for a great lunch. The Almond Joy Chicken and Cranberry Chicken salads are so yummy. A shrimp po boy, a Reuben or meatloaf lava sandwich as well as many others are great for the hearty appetite as well as several lunch entrees. Save room for peach cobbler or cream cheese brownie. The best part of Liberty Station is that they really care about their guests and work hard to get you what you like when you want it.

We love this restaurant. Located next to the active railroad track this former railroad station this rebuilt building looks like the original station inside and out. Service was great and we had a great meal. My husband had the country corner meal of mashed potatoes, green beans and country fried steak out of 4 choices.I had 1/2 of a sandwich of grilled chicken with Swiss cheese tomato on herb Foccacia bread all warm with salad. So good! Meal was $25.22 for lots of food. We also had warm bread in a crock of 3 different types of bread. Deco, food and service outstanding. Best restaurant near Smith Mountain Lake.

We came in right before closing- looking like we had just climbed a mountain (we had) complete with hat hair and tennis shoes. They treated us well and the food was great. My husband is a vegan and they had lots of creative options for him like bean cakes or a veggie plate ( he got both) and they allowed me to add crab cakes to their sweet potato salad. It was all terrific and the waitress/ bartender was extremely kind despite our tardiness. I think her name was Julie. It’s a large place and has an outdoors.

I have heard of this place a was happy to finally try it. A wide selection of almost any food you can imagine - soups, sándwiches, salads, desserts, hot specials, and more. Our team Gad burgers and salad. Service was great. Ample parking. And the occasional train roaring by added a bit of fun and nostalgia to the dining experience.

This was a great place! Service was excellent. Friendly.. And the others who were there were also friendly. Lots of great conversation, and great food.. No complaints at all. The owner actually came over and shook hands and delivered a free dessert . I really enjoyed this place.

Would NOT recommend for a large party. We were in Lynchburg celebrating our granddaughter’s graduation and want to take her some place unique and special afterwards. Going by the reviews, we chose Liberty Station. We had a party of 12. My daughter called the day before and was told no reservations, first come first serve, but no problem seating our party. When we arrived we were asked if we called ahead??? No….told we couldn’t. So we waited. We were seated fairly quick because we got there 45 minutes before they opened and first in line. Our waitress was Angela M. Atmosphere was nice but the service was horrible. We all felt as if Angela was annoyed with having to wait on us. She was not friendly in the slightest bit and did not appreciate questions. Exceptionally rude to my son-in-laws mother. We had small children in our party and their food came last….well after the adults were served. We were almost afraid to ask for anything due to the manner our waitress would respond. When asked about menu items she was annoyed in having to repeat descriptions from one end of the table to the other. She was VERY rude when asked if we could split the bill. She didn’t appreciate being asked for missing items. She just seemed extremely annoyed with the entire party. Also, be sure to check your tab for included gratuity because our waitress was not upfront about that. Fortunately we caught it and did not double tip her. I will have grandchildren attending Liberty University for many years to come but this will be one restaurant that will not get my return business. Decent food, nice atmosphere, horrible service.

Came here with Leni, then realized I had been there once before years ago. We had a short wait as the restaurant was crowded. Almost at once we got seated at a table for two looking out over the tracks. The rooms are full of railroad trivia and displays. I got to see the tail end of a southbound Amtrac. Our server was a most pleasant lady named Lori. Even in a crowded restaurant she, like apparently all the servers worked very hard. Leni asked for some very good coffee and I ordered a glass of Pinot Noir, We also received while waiting for then entree a very interesting muffin looking giant with three different types of bread done in what looked like a French onion soup tureen. My SO had a Raspberry Chicken breast which she said was great. I had a chopped steak with mushrooms, peppers and onions. All in all we had a most wonderful meal before heading to Bedford for the Memorial Day concert

Was our wedding anniversary. We have been coming for over 15 yrs except for time it was closed due to fire. This occasion was very disappointing. We asked for med cooked steak, received one very rare, other was well done. Asked for no peppers, plate brought out had peppers. Sent steak back, received another one still a little rare. Waitress was polite, no atmosphere to speak of. Place has changed since trading hands, charging the prices they do, would train cooks on how to cook medium. Also they need to pay attention to tickets. Wife ordered no peppers, came to table with peppers. Ordered sour cream for baked potato, did get it second time around when steak was precooked. We will be trying other places on our special day.

Driving through Bedford, we chose Liberty Station for lunch and a a driving break. We found the menu to be quite varied w something for everyone. Among our group of four we had the catfish, Reuben and chicken breast sandwiches and the cheeseburger. The food was very good and portions ample. The soup was however too salty. The Reuben and catfish were standouts. While the food was good and the service friendly, it is not a special occasion restaurant. They have appropriately distanced table arrangements due to COVID and all servers were wearing masks (no gloves); a number is patrons did not wear masks coming and going.

An amazing dinner! The coconut shrimp was absolutely divine and the pesto pasta with blackened chicken was well prepared and delicious. The warm cream cheese brownie topped with ice cream was off the charts and we nearly licked the plate it was so good. Great train station atmosphere and our servers were friendly and attentive. We were visiting the area and liked it so much we went back the next night!
