Was in Burlington area for a few days and looking for best places for breakfast. Sneakers was on our list and didn’t disappoint! Didn’t even know they added a second floor!
Bad planed that you have to line on the way of the waiter.. He just shouts at us to in such a rude manner. We had no choice to leave this mornîg and won’t ever come again !
I hate to write a mediocre review for a place that I genuinely like a lot but out last visit was only average. I ordered the breakfast sandwich special and it was pretty tasteless except for the red pepper mayo on it. The accompanying home...fries were cut too large, were dry and had too much garlic powder (or some other dry spice) on them. Can’t be great all the time, I guess.More
Read online that the pancakes were good. Places an order to pick up and they did not disappoint. On the thicker side with delicious Vermont maple syrup. Would def eat again.
We haven’t been here in a while and we’re looking for a good breakfast place in town, so thought we would head to Sneakers. We have been coming here for 40+ years and have always enjoyed the funky ambience, great service, and yummy food. This...time we just felt it was not the same…Service as always was great. However, the food did not wow us. Cold home fries and rather bland food. When you spend over $50 for breakfast for 2 people (no alcohol), I expect to be wowed!More
Very friendly staff and cozy place to enjoy a great breakfast or lunch. I had tried Sneakers famous Eggs Benedict which was delicious!
What a gem! We ate breakfast here and everyone enjoyed their meals. Two had pancakes with real maple syrup accompaniment and a side of thick cut bacon. Another had the Sneakers eggs Benedict which has the addition of an artichoke pesto, truly a winner. The...home fries were excellent too! Highly recommend.More
We had a lovely Monday brunch here during a recent anniversary weekend in Burlington. The vibes are fun, the food creative, and the service very friendly. We also liked that we were able to sit outside in downtown Winooski. We split the chicken and waffles...and a side order of Kahlua French toast. The food didn't wow us but it was tasty and we left satisfied. My husband also got a chocolate milkshake for the road which unfortunately wasn't good (it tasted like cheap soft serve ice cream and Hershey's syrup). But overall we would come back.More
I had to try their chicken and waffles. It was accurately described and a little unusual, so my comments are purely subjective. Their version has the requisite waffle, which was very good, a nicely prepared boneless chicken breast, and sausage gravy, topped with two eggs....Like I said, I knew what I was getting into. I found it to be a little confusing. The usual salty chicken/ sweet syrup contrast was there, but muddled by the other two toppings. I could see it as a hangover cure gut buster breakfast, and I did finish the whole thing, but I would have preferred the traditional. I gave 5 stars because it was very well prepared, and you might love it. My wife’s Eggs Benedict lived up to their reputation—again very well prepared. “A” for effort on both, and for taking some risks.More
We stopped at one of our favorite breakfast places only to find it closed. We checked Trip Advisor for something open nearby, and Sneakers Bistro popped up. It looked good so we decided to give it a try. Wow, we now have a new favorite....Everything worked out as we were able to get a parking space right in front - and a table without a wait. It must have been the timing it was about 9:15 AM on a Monday. The place was busy, but the staff is awesome. The hostess and our waiter, Garret, couldn't have been any better. I ordered the "Sneakers Famous Eggs Benedict" - the "twist" on the traditional was the artichoke pesto, but also the Canadian bacon was a little thicker than what we usually find. It was served with home fries and their "Legendary Hollandaise" which was very creamy, and didn't overpower the rest of the plate. All of it was delicious! My wife had the Kahlua French Toast - another WOW! thick challah bread dipped in Kahlua batter - scrumptious - almost like dessert for breakfast. There were several other items that looked very good, so we are certain that we will try to make it back to Sneakers in Winooski to try them.More
Breakfast was amazing. There were four of us and we all enjoyed our meal. They offered a local coffee, Speeder and Earls, that was amazing. Service was friendly, prompt and accurate. They offer outdoor seating. We sat inside and the windows were open which brought...in a nice breeze. This would definitely become a regular spot for us if we lived closer.More
Fantastic food, great variety, some unique items and some classics. So glad I followed recommendations to make a reservation, even for a Monday! We were seated outside (at our choice) and the service was very attentive, not a forgotten zone as sometimes happens. Our food...and our coffees (Maple latte!!!!) were outstanding. We rolled out of their happy and angling when we can come back!More
My husband and I have been to Sneakers many times over the past many years of living in Vermont. We have always had incredibly delicious breakfasts at Sneakers but our most recent visit in early June was truly the best…our first indoor restaurant experience since...March 2020 and the pandemic. This special and long awaited breakfast included the most amazing and very calorie worthy kahlua French toast topped with Vt maple syrup along with my fav, eggs Benedict. My husband had pancakes, eggs, bacon, toast and potatoes…oh those potatoes were so perfect! You may have to wait to get a table or booth or even a counter seat…it’s so worth the wait!More
Hadn’t been for a couple years. Got tired of Montpelier venues for breakfast and drove to Winooski. They have not lost a step. Everything was fantastic! I got the California Benedict (should have taken a picture, but it looked so good I dug right in...and forgot) but I asked to substitute the Veggie Sausage for regular sausage. They actually cut the links lengthwise and flatten them out on the grill to fit better! Honestly the best breakfast I’ve had in a year or more. My friend got the Cowboy Hash and said it was great! We sat outside and the service was spotty, (would have appreciated a drink refill), but the food more than made up for it.More
