We made a reservation and our table was ready for us when we arrived. Sarah, our server, was right over to take our beer order and gave us time to enjoy them prior to ordering our food. I ordered the pastrami sandwich which was fantastic...and came with fries. Mrs. B ordered the hamburger with an egg on it. Both meals were delicious and the service was excellent.More
We were on a ski vacation with my son and his girlfriend. We looked at the reviews and chose Windsor Station. We were not disappointed. The setting was warm and quaint! The food was spectacular!! We had the Chicken Piccata, Grilled Sirloin Chimichurri and a...Steak Special. Everything was cooked to perfection. Our server was warm and had a great understanding of the menu. She was able to answer our questions easily. I highly recommend the Windsor Station! We will definitely be going back!More
Salad, Chicken & Vodka, & Main Street Burger with beer and cider. Excellent server and very tasty bread n butter to start. Food was very good with good portions. Timed very well. Reasonably priced with wine & liquor menus that seemed extensive, but there could...have been more beer possibilities.More
This was our first and only choice for our one and only night out for dinner while staying in Windsor for the week. It was an excellent choice! Dinner and service was fantastic! Having a table next to the windows inside the ticket agent area...was an added plus, especially when the 6pm northbound Amtrak came through and later in the evening a freight train heading south came through the station. The station itself is a sight to see!More
We ate here while visiting my sister in Vermont. I picked the place based on the reviews and their menu. We were very pleased with every aspect of this place - the food was excellent, all the staff were quite friendly and professional, and the...place was just quaint. The food was well prepared and the prices were reasonable, especially since we all at plenty and still had some to take home for another day. Well done!!More
We were told about this place by a friend and his family who we went out apple picking with today. He suggested the Windsor Station for a late lunch. He told me it was an old train station. Being a paranormal investigator I love old...buildings, and what better place to eat then a still functioning old railway stop!! I had never been in one before so I wasn’t sure what to expect. This place was quite awesome. The building itself was beautiful. The high ceilings reminded me of the plantation homes that I’ve visited when I lived in Alabama. The atmosphere was friendly and both the hostess and our waiter were extremely polite and attentive. There were 8 of us so we had a big group, but they made the accommodations for us even given what I would call limited space indoors. We would have gladly eaten outdoors but it was beginning to rain…and we were unaware there was a patio cover over the outdoor seating 😂. I ordered a burger and fries the kids got chicken tender kids meals and one got spaghetti and meatballs. My buddy got the Filet mignon, his wife and mother got the fish and chips, my girlfriend got the chicken parm and I got a burger. The kids meals were huge, to be honest I think they were bigger then the adult meals 😂. Four huge chicken tenders with fries. Then the two huge meatballs with the spaghetti. Not one child finished their meal…which isn’t a bad thing. Everyone said their food was perfectly cook and well seasoned. My burger was absolutely delicious. My girlfriend and my buddys wife got a drink that I don’t remember the name of but it had sangria in it. It was huge! However they said it was unlike anything they had tried before and that was a good thing as they got another one good thing we were sitting across from the bar. Lol. The drinks were a little pricy but then again where are drinks not pricy? Some would say the food is kinda pricy, I say given the current market the food was priced correctly, and to be honest it’s worth the money as not one of us had a single complaint. If you’re ever in Windsor and want a good meal in a historic place try the Windsor Station. It is well worth the stop.More
In the middle of a small town is a stellar restaurant. A charming informal environment, surrounded but not overpowered by railroad memorabilia. And for its location, an amazing menu, clever, thoughtful, more than sufficient choices (too many and one wonders if a restaurant can pull...them all off), perfectly prepared and very artfully presented. They have enough for gluten-free requirements. Thank heavens that they survived the pandemic...may they keep going. And for safety's sake, make a reservation! They are justifiably popular especially on weekends.More
We visited for dinner with two very young children. The food was delicious, the outdoor dining area was great and the reservation system convenient. The food was delicious and it was nice to see some unique options on the kids menu.
First time eating in a restaurant since pre-Covid. Be sure to make a reservation. The food, specialty drinks, service and ambiance were all exceptional. Table were spread out and we felt safe.
My son loves trains, so you can imagine his excitement that we were eating in a train station. The atmosphere was great, and we loved the different parts of the building preserved from its former station days: we ate in what I think was the...ticket booth! The food was delicious and got to us in a timely manner.More
Great food! Made a dinner of appetizors — meatballs with riccotta, brushetta, fabulous tasty salads. Superior friendly service! Atmosphere of an old train station is welcoming and warm. Even the background music tracks were an addition to our enjoyment.
We kind of stumbled upon this delight when we were on an anniversary trip to VT, and we are so glad we did! We ate there two nights in a row, then they were closed the other two nights we were in town. Christen was...our server and she was a star! Very friendly and great service. Atmosphere being in the original train station was decorated with old luggage and trunks - very cool. We had the blackened salmon and coastal pasta the first night. Both dishes were amazing! And enough for leftovers the next day for lunch. They also have a great beer selection on tap, and special cocktails, wine. The next night Mike was our server (also great) - we had chicken wings - big and tasty, and the mussels appetizer with garlic baguettes - great. The next time we are in the area we will go back.More
Had the Blackend Salmon with roasted vegetables would definitely order again . Appetizers Saffron mussels, were over cooked in a sweet tangy sauce with a few pieces of garlic bread . First couple of times there very crowded. No attempt to seat us or even pay attention to four people standing there. WE left. Now Covid 19. They wont let you drink a beer on the patio because the government says you have to eat food....I won't eat because the government says I have to eat. The management backs the government.
