I don't really like spending a lot of money on dining out but I have to say my food at Folly was awesome. Everything we ordered was cooked to perfection. Very warm and cozy environment as well, will be back!

One of the best meals we have ever had. Menu was overwhelming upon first glance but the waitress does an amazing job of explaining everything in full detail ... to the point that you want to order everything. Great wine selection. Would recommend showing up...for your reservation at your exact time for the venue is not very large.More

Folly is one of the only fine dining experiences in the Wilmington/Mount Snow area. We only discovered it last winter and we have been several times since, and it has never disappointed. The dining room is small and cosy, accommodating maybe sixteen diners at one...time. The staff is very small, comprised just of the two proprietors and one other person assisting on the floor, with one of the owners leading the table service, giving very helpful and exhaustive descriptions of the fare on the menu, and the other is in the kitchen cooking the food. They're very committed to the quality of the dining experience and they feature local Vermont produce in many of the dishes. There's a pretty good selection of good wines available. This commitment to ensuring a high quality dining experience, and the very small size of the property, mean that they have focused on adults only and small group sizes (you should call in advance if you're more than two persons)More

My wife and I ate here for her birthday and were amazed at the consummate service, the incredibly tasty and thoughtful dishes, and the candlelit ambience. We would go here again in a heartbeat!

If you read the review below this one, you'll see my feelings about bars and restaurants with children. My parents never took me and my brothers out to eat until we were essentially adults. Was it because my dad couldn't pound Michelobs while sandpapering his...feet at a restaurant? Maybe. Maybe. But I like to think it was because he respected that adults didn't want to dine around children. Folly agrees. We got a tip from some locals about Folly. He started out by saying, "you aren't bringing kids with you, are you? Because it's adults only" After that, he could have said they essentially serve the food from Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom palace scene. (If you haven't seen Temple of Doom, please pause reading this review and go watch it. It's actually a prequel and the worst of the 3 ((I disown the 4th) so after you finish Temple of Doom watch Raiders of the Lost Ark and Last Crusade))). Ok, welcome back! How unreal was the umbrella bird scene is Last Crusade? Dr. Schnider was unreal. So I was saying, I didn't care about the food, just that there wouldn't be children around. But as a bonus, the food was incredible! The lovely owner gave us a detailed account of the menu and was very happy to have us. My wife is pregnant so I thought we'd be at risk but alas we were good. On this trip we basically ate at every place in town, and nothing was finer than Folly. Order the beef cheek bolognese, hold the children.More

We contacted Folly to schedule a reservation for our family - mom, dad and 9 yr old daughter. We got a call back within 24 hrs which was appreciated since they are only open 3 days a week. Upon speaking with the owner she told...us that she had an 8:30 and 5:30 reservation. Upon learning that it was for a party that included a child she then proceeded to tell me that she could not accommodate us because this is "not a place for children" and they don't have a children's menu. I assured her that no childrens menu was needed and that my daughter thoroughly enjoys fine food as much as her parents do. The owner was unrelenting and said such comical things as "couples are here and it throws off the vibe," "it's not really what we're going for," and my personal favorite, "we enjoy fine food and wine" At that point I couldn't help myself with a bit of a smart response and said so do we. Was it necessary, no but as a family that has enjoyed fine food and wine in a variety of interesting locales, I couldn't let this pretentious slide. That's ok, Two Tannery welcomed us with an open door. If you want to exclude children, that's your choice but why don't you specifically call it out on your website so that families that are looking for a nice evening don't have to introduce a negative experience into what is generally a get away to recharge the bonds of family.More

Took a chance and got a last minute reservation. The venue is small, with a small staff and as such they try to time reservations so every one has a great experience. We were seated right at our 8:00 time. The menu is a real...foodie treat. The owner introduces the menu and speaks a bit about each dish. I started with their signature grilled octopus, which had great flavor and texture but I must admit my wife gnocchi with mushrooms was even better. Very fluffy gnocchi in a tasty broth and various mushroom varieties. I went with the rabbit loin over parmesan risotto for my main and my wife chose an appetizer size seafood stew (several plates come either full or app size). Fantastic all around. The rabbit was perfectly cooked and they even added in a miniature rack of rabbit. The seafood stew was delicious. We passed on dessert although there were several temptations. They have a sizable selection of wines and beers, no liquor. Our bill before tip and including one glass of wine and one bottle came to $140.00. There were many intriguing items on the menu so we will be back to sample some more.More

We will never go back here. We have eaten here pretty much every weekend for the past couple of years. Tonite, we were asked to tone our conversation down when speaking with a couple at the adjacent table when our conversation level was not in...any respect excessive. It was obnoxious to say the least. Needless to say, this place is off our list.More

Between exceptional food and service this is the best couple or small party restaurant in the Valley. Quality and preparation of every course of a very special meal is not equaled anywhere locally. Top shelf seafood and meats paired with excellent wines makes this restaurant...a must if you want to have an intimate meal with someone special. I’ve eaten here twice and love it. Reservations are mandatory. Not a place for kids or even mature minors. Try it.More
