We stopped in at the Tavern on a quiet day for lunch. Sat outside which was a little loud with the cars going by, but didn't want to miss such a beautiful day. Nice choice of tap beers. Highly recommend the spruce beer. Chicken sandwich...was done perfectly and tasted great. Wait staff was pleasant and attentive. Recommend the local cheese board, but needs a few more crackers/bread.More

I am a Vermonter who had to work on Thanksgiving, as well as my husband. Being a vegetarian I could care less about a turkey dinner, but I wanted to do something special for my husband so I researched our local restaurants who were doing...a Thanksgiving dinner. At first, I was sooo excited at what The Tavern had to offer! You could order online, customize your meal, pick a time for pick up - it seemed like the bees knees. When I got to check out, my total was $60 which included one Thanksgiving meal, an added on piece of pie, and a salad. Okay, a bit pricey but worth it thinking we would get prime food, and a decent amount of it .... boy was I WRONG! My salad that I paid $13 for was a serving size to feed a rabbit - pinch of lettuce, one slice of cucumber, one cherry tomato cut in half and oddly long shredded carrots. The slice of pie that I spent $8 on, my husband ate in two bites. His Thanksgiving meal that was $34, was a childs size meal - not even a full ice cream scooper worth of mashed potatoes. As previously mentioned you could choose a time to pick up your food, well the food was cold so it obviously was cooked early and left sitting there for God knows how long. If you made it this far in reading my review you get the picture. Talk about absolutely mortified in this situation - never again!!!!!!!!!!! Save your money!More

We have had many pleasant pub meals in the 1846 Tavern. Our experience with take out there was totally the opposite. We were given someone else’s order. When we returned, the staff was rude despite it being their fault. No accommodation was made. We then...had a cold meal which I think would have been poor even if it had been hot. The wings were dry and chewy and the lobster roll was totally bland. It is pretty hard to make a bad lobster roll but they managed. Doubt we will order from there again.More

I come here frequently and love the food but lately the manager has been really tough to deal with , the last 3 times I went there he told me the same thing “we are closing because we ran out of food “ what the...hell is that ? And he was a total jerk about it ! it wasn’t just me he sent away a party of 3 and a party of 6 , 2 hours before close . This is not how you run a restaurant business. My suggestion to the owner is keep the chef and definitely fire this very rude manager.More

It's 2020. As a group of friends and family, we are visiting Vermont for the first time. We had a great day until we stopped by this restaurant hoping to order food to go. To get straight tot the point, this restaurant refused to serve...us. We were told that the kitchen was too backed up to serve us "food to go." As we stood there surrounded by empty tables and a couple that was just seated and ordering food, we asked if there was a difference if we sat and ate food. Still, the same answer..."the kitchen is backed up by two hours at-least," They allowed us to leave and didn't try to help us in any way. As potential patrons, we left feeling discriminated against and profiled. I have never felt this way at a restaurant in my life. I would not recommend this place to anyone.More

Nice place with both indoor and outdoor seating - is a little pricey, but the food was good! They primarily serve seafood and American food!

On a Tuesday night many restaurants are closed in West Dover. Not 1846 Tavern! The food, service, music selections - all of it - were fabulous! We were welcomed warmly by Charlie and our waitress, Kristy gave great and friendly service. Appetizers and main entrees...were all delicious. We will definitely return.More

This was a pleasant surprise the food, drinks and staff were top shelf small town feel. We had a table next to the fireplace everything was delicious from the start right up to the fudge brownie ice cream dessert.

Staying at Deerfield valley inn and walked here to find a nice tavern with great food. Not crowded, we sat by the fire in the tavern rather than in the dining room. I had the salmon with potatoes rather than rice. Pleasantly surprised with the...plating and the asparagus! Delicious. My husband enjoyed the Winter Ale with a burger he couldn't finish.More

We had reservation for a large group (12 people) and were seated immediately when we got to the restaurant. The food was great, great tasting and cooked right. The waitress we had though was fantastic. We never had to look for her for anything we...needed as she was always insuring we had our drink glasses full and our needs were taken care of. Our reservation was also one of the late ones of the night so we were the last patrons there at some point and at no time did we feel pressured to leave by any of the staff. It is definitely a restaurant to return to when we come back to Mount Snow.More
