Zenbarn is a Vermont treasure

My 11-year-old daughter and I have been going to Zenbarn for dinner and music. We first went to hear a friend play, but we were immediately hooked to the wondferful vibe and welcome. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The system for ordering food is well thought out and works great. And the food is delicious. They take a lot of care in preparation an vary the menu so there is always something new and interesting. We have been outside for each visit. Nice heaters are provided on cold evenings, making it cozy. The music makes up local musicians and are last singer/songwriter was from Boston. This is a place that cares and it's well named. We love going and feel "peaceful and relaxed."

I had the pleasure of going to Zenbarn during one of their Ethiopian nights.What a wonderful experience it was. Lots of tasty new foods to try, I particularly liked the lentils. And we enjoyed learning about the food. The Maple Creme Brûlée ( not Part of the Ethiopian experience) was absolute nirvana. We will be back🥰

Delicious Food

We had a burger and rib tips. The food was very good and the portion was good also. We came in the evening and it was not crowded. Our server was very pleasant and the atmosphere was nice. Our food was served hot and quickly. Soda were unlimited on refills. Parking was plentiful. If you are in the area, you will want to stop here for lunch or dinner.

Incredible food and service

I was on a Vermont Tour and this was the food highlight! The food was creative and still very New England. The servers were very friendly and patient with the large group.

Fun spot

This is a fun bar/restaurant easily accessible from the highway. I’ve been twice. Once alone at the bar for a decent burger (it was a bit overcooked, but still good). Not a fan of the fries so much, but the bartender was kind and the music was excellent (70’s funk that night). Second time with a friend, food was good, service was a bit rough, but still it’s a cool, funky spot worth the effort.

Great atmosphere, good food, live music!

We met a couple friends here for dinner while visiting VT. There are a couple small parking lots by the place so that was not an issue. We had made reservations although we clearly didn't need to as it was practically empty when we arrived - Thursday night. The décor was great with a couple separate areas for dining inside, one by the stage and one a bit more removed. The menu selection isn't huge, but adequate, and they had a good craft beer selection. Since we were in VT I had to get a Heady Topper and then also tried one of their other beers, both very good. We shared some nachos, which were very good, and I had a crispy chicken sandwich which was excellent. While we were there a 5 man bluegrass band was playing and they were great - very enjoyable. The place was cool, the food and service were good and we would definitely go back again.

Good BBQ

Place was packed! Decent BBQ. The brisket was very good as was the Mac n cheese. The side salad was terrible though....just greens with little dressing. Fab apps and desserts - the flan and root beer floats were awesome! We also had a very pleasant waitress who provided great service even as the place was soo busy!! I would recommend.

Good atmosphere, tasty cuisine, parking an issue

Overall good experience for our first visit. Had reservations for &;30 on a Wednesday evening. When we arrived there no parking spots available in either of their lots. Ending up parking on side of the road. When we walked in, the band was playing. They sounded good but was loud for the space. We were promptly seated in the far end of the room which mitigated the loudness of the music. While busy, there were stilla few tables open for dining. Nice interior and vibe (converted barn). Server was helpful and friendly. Food was served promptly and was quite tasty. Had to pay extra for side of fries (didn't come with sandwich), but they were hand cut and excellent. Found pricing a little high for for the meal, (maybe 5-10%) but Zenbarn is definitely worth a visit. We will return.

Fantastic atmosphere and great food!

The food was fantastic and everything was reasonably priced. We stayed (AirBnB) and ate here as one of our stops between Richmond VA and Montreal QC. Note that there are many CBD infused options if you're into that. My wife commented that hers was the best chicken caesar salad she's ever had. I enjoyed a burger and craft beer while my oldest son had a *huge* bowl of ramen. We ate at some notable places between Philly, NYC... all the way to Bangor Maine. We were pleasantly surprised with Zenbarn and it may have been the tastiest meal we had during our long trip!

Great with music

I liked the food (our group had brisket, burger, crispy chicken, fish tacos) and a good beer list. I'm not sure it rose to the level of a special trip for just dinner, but they book great live music and in that regard the food well above what I would usually expect. Service was good, though a bit of a "tag team" effort. Overall, solid food and great music venue.

Hi Mike - glad to hear you had a great time at a show and enjoyed your food. I’m sorry if our team approach to service was a bit off- we have some new staff we are getting up to speed for the summer but we all try to work together to provide a unique Vermont experience for our guests. Hopefully you come back soon and we can earn that fifth star that helps people discover our off the beaten path family restaurant/venue/ studio. Cheers!

Delicious Dinner at the Zen Barn

We had a delicious dinner at the Zen Barn last night. It’s truly a Vermont Restaurant with an extraordinary menu satisfying many palettes. The craft beer, cider and wine selection is significant. We ordered pork ramen, beef ramen, barbecued ribs and a chicken sandwich. Our waitress was so nice and friendly and the service was excellent! Especially for a Friday night😊 I can’t wait to bring friends there!

Incredible Graduation Dinner!!

Exceeded our expectations! Incredible service from host to server and fantastic food! We hosted a party of 16 complete with variety of gluten-free and vegetarian preferences. Staff was very knowledgeable on food and drink menu. You've got to try the Tempura Mushrooms, Black Bean Nachos, Brisket (everything!), and Ramen. Great selection of craft beers (of course) and artisan cocktails. All fresh, local and deeeelicious!

The food is amazing

Usually as a Vegetarian your choices are limited at most restaurants.. not so here. There were so many amazing choices I was giddy with excitement. The cauliflower appetizer was simply the best I have ever eaten , and the Elote was fabulous. My omnivore friend was equally impressed. Our server, Sequoia was great. And our entrees were delicious. Don’t miss the creme brûlée, blueberry this week, it was really yummy.
