This husband and wife team really know how to make food and create an inviting atmosphere. Had fried chicken and bbq pork. Even the rolls are incredible.

What a gem this place is! When you walk in, you see a beautiful post-and-beam barn, with dark wood and a fireplace. The staff is super friendly and knowledgeable, encouraging me to order items that I ordinarily wouldn't order. I ordered a pasta with a lobster sauce, which wasn't too heavy and was finished perfectly. I also ordered rolls served... More

We had gotten a recommendation for here. We tried the seven course chef’s tasting menu. The seven course consisted of: Beef tenderloin, shrimp, carrot soup, pasta with an egg on top, halibut, octopus, and pork tenderloin. After the seven courses we had sorbet, and maple treats. My favorite was the carrot soup. My husband’s favorite was the homemade pasta, with... More

Dinner at the Common Man two weeks ago with my son was nothing less than spectacular. Fried oysters to start with a lemon vinaigrette were the lightest most refreshing fried oyster ever. The Octopus was and always is perfect. A middle course of Bucatini with a mushroom sauce was as pleasing to the eye as to our palates. I had... More

Our family of 5 dined at The Common Man last night and we felt totally robbed. When we made the reservation they promised that they could make "kids-sized" portions and simpler meals for our 3 children. At the restaurant the waitress confirmed the same. There were no kids meals on the menu, but she promised to make a "1/2 order"... More

It was burgers and Bordeaux at the Common Man last night. The beef burgers and the lobster burgers were servered with fries and a great salad. Wine pairings were offered, along with glasses of good Bordeaux. Another great dinner by Chief Adam

The Common Man Restaurant is located in Warren, Vermont, in the heart of Mad River Valley, between Lincoln Peak and Mount Ellen. Sited in a 19th century barn, the dining room is elegant in its simplicity. With hand-hewn beams framing an open hearth fireplace, the 100-seat restaurant is inviting and intimate.

Since the original owners, the Orsini family, opened their doors in the 1960s, 3209 German Flats Road has been a popular place for locals, visitors, and skiers to gather for a quality Vermont dining experience. Now in its fourth generation of operation, the current owners, Chef Adam Longworth and Lorien Wroten, are working hard to re-energize this Vermont dining institution with small town hospitality and world class cuisine.
