We stayed as a family of 4 for one night at the featherbed Inn in February and had a wonderful time. It is a beautiful classic New England farmhouse with cottages that has been lovingly restored with period antiques and decor. The host and hostess...were very warm and caring and gave us the opportunity to eat our own food as a family in one of their 2 private dining rooms with a high degree of space and privacy. The location is spot on in the Mad River Valley and I highly recommend it as a great place to stay year round.More

The penne bolognese came with a sauce that reminded more of penne a la vodka with meat than an actual bolognese, but was still good. We also enjoyed the cassoulet, though there were slightly too many carrots.

We took advantage of the take out menu at Peasant on 12/18 /20 and had the cassoulet and rigatoni with gorgonzola and bacon. Those meals were do delicious that we went back the following night! We had the bolognese and the rigatoni with gorgonzola (...hubby tasted it when I had it and ordered it for himself the next night!)and the banana mousse with homemade vanilla wafers........all I can say is WOW!!! If you are in the area in 2020/21 during Covid, DEFINITELY take advantage of their delicious takeout. Oh, and did I mention the cocktails?!More

Wow. We dined at Peasant last night with guests from the Featherbed Inn, and everything about our experience and meal was perfect. We wanted to try everything on the menu, finally settling on escargot and celeriac fennel soup for appetizers -- both outstanding. The cassoulet,...beef ragout, and pasta Bolognese were out of this world. And even though we were stuffed, we couldn't resist the scrumptious banana parfait for dessert. Chris and his staff took great care of us, also taking precautions to ensure safe indoor dining during Covid. This was an outstanding evening out, a real treat. Highly recommended!More

nice wine list, great value. everything excellent. loved the escargot, salad, soup, bolognese, very generous portions. were staying at local b&b Featherbed Inn and forgot my purse in the restaurant and they called the Inn and offered to drop it off on their way home!...How about that for service! Will definitely return. They also do take out.More

Spent a week in Warren, VT area and by far this was our best dining experience. Welcoming stuff and owner. Clean, spaced seating. No rush service. Pleasant and humorous conversation. But best of all our escargot, salad and main pasta dishes of goulash (special) and...pork were excellent. Wine selection was very good as well. Too bad we had discovered this place on our last night...More

Changing menu daily. Very inventive cocktail menu. Meatballs delicious as was chicken schnitzel. Socially distant tables.

I've eaten here twice recently. Once with my son and a second time with my daughter. The setting is quite nice. The staff is polite and attentive. The first time, I had a white bean cassoulet. It was quite tasty. The second time, I had...a risotto of the day. It was safron flavored risotto with scallops. The scallops were cooked perfectly. The rice unfortunately was not cooked. The waitress was quite apologetic and offered to get me something else from the menu.More

A great way to finish up a hard day of skiing. Portions are skier generous, meaning if you haven’t burned off a couple of thousand calories at Mad River or Sugarbush you will be stuffed. Meatball appetizer was excellent - and huge. Salad piled to...the ceiling. Chicken cassoulet was excellent. Chocolate ganache cake was moist and again easily splittable for 2 or even 3. For the portions and the quality, prices are very reasonable. Wine list was well chosen, and not gouging on price. Service was very prompt and friendly.More

Such a gem! The food and ambience were incredible, but what really sets this restaurant apart are the people that work there...kind, knowledgeable, and willing to go the extra mile to accommodate a food allergy. Chocolate cake and the pork bolognese were the favorites, but...everything was delicious.More
