Welcome to 3 Squares Café! We're serving up casual and creative cuisine three meals a day, seven days a week. Located in historic downtown Vergennes, we welcome you to bring the entire family and enjoy a meal in our eclectic, comfortable atmosphere. Tourist town cafe but lots of locals there enjoying conversation and decent food.
Prices comparable for the locale and portion size. We ate after the lunch rush on a Sunday so there was a table available, but I would guess seating at peak times is hard to come by.
Service to deliver the food was excellent, but remember it’s counter service if you need something you have to ask for it.
Nice stop to break up sight seeing.

We had breakfast and it was great. I had the French Toast special with Fried Chicken and hubby his usual eggs, bacon, toast, and hash browns. I liked that we could get our own coffee and there were several choices. Would stop in again.

My husband and I dined at Three Squares Cafe one afternoon for lunch during our short vacation in Vergennes in late October. My husband got a sandwich, which he really liked, and I got the Soup of the Day (a satisfying and spicy bean soup) served with warm, crusty bread and butter, and a glass of oat milk. The menu (hanging over the counter where orders are placed) is not easy to read, and there is very little seating (I had my doubts as to whether we’d find a place to sit), but all in all it was a tasty place to grab lunch.

My husband and I stopped in to pick up breakfast on our way to visit our daughter in Williston. We both ordered the breakfast burrito since we thought it was something that we could eat in the car. We were told it would be about 20 minutes. We got coffee and sat observing the other patrons who all seemed pleased with what the were eating so we were happy to wait. About a half hour later our food came out, and apparently they called our name but we didn’t hear. I saw it when it came out and watched it get put to the side while they served people at the tables. I finally went up and asked if our order would be ready soon which was when I found out I had been watching it sit on the counter for a while. I was a bit annoyed that they hadn’t tried harder to find us (we were sitting inside while waiting) but was hoping that the food would be worth the wait. No such luck. My husband took one bite and put it down on the floor of the car. I’m not as critical but by the third bite (which was mostly egg) I did the same. The eggs were overcooked and had an almost rancid taste. We were very disappointed (and hungry). I would not recommend this place to anyone.

We met friends here for brunch on Sunday 11/26 since it was about halfway between our place in Burlington and their place in Bristol and 3 of us had been there at least once and enjoyed it.
Two of us had the Eggs Benedict with brisket that was a special. The eggs were closer to hardboiled than poached, and the brisket was tough.
I had the challah French toast with fruit and the 4th person had the breakfast burrito, both of which were delicious.
Staff and general vibe was wonderful, but it's hard to give more than 3 stars when 2 out of 4 meals were less than expected.

Really good-hearty and wholesome. The staff is wonderful and the menu is too. You can easily get vegetarian entrees that are super fresh and local. ( It IS Vt after all!). We sat outside- and if you do that, you order inside and then take your seat outside-they will bring your food to you. Great coffee!

It's a cute cafe with inside and outside seating. I had the Falafel Sandwich. The chickpea fritter came on a pita and I got the greens on the side. It was a reasonably sized portion and it had good flavor. The menu was large and there were many options for a vegetarian, like me. I'll be back to try a breakfast item next time!

Luckily we found this spot. We were not that impressed with the online menu, but we were very hungry. Are we ever glad that we went in! The food was awesome as well as the service. The black board menu had lots of creative options. We had sweet potato and black bean tacos in addition to a phenomenal arugula grapefruit salad.

This place met the needs for a quick meet up with an old friend. You order at the bar and they will bring the food to you. Food was fresh and tasty - I had the Caesar Salad while my friend had a breakfast wrap. Drinks were from a reach in refrigerator. The atmosphere was busy, lively and amicable to singles and families alike.

We were on our way to Burlington, it was lunchtime, so we paused in Vergennes and stumbled upon the 3 Squares Cafe. Glad we did because it was a great experience. Wish we had a 3 Squares in our town! It's a funky and fun place with a creative menu. The service was really friendly and the meal arrived quickly. Everything we had was great. We would certainly recommend this place.

Another great fine in the world do you order at the counter they bring your food. We were very happy with our choices. I had the yogurt with the cherries and that was delicious. There’s a lot of it if you wanted to split that with a few people. My daughter had the eggs, bacon and potatoes. The bacon was well done, which was perfect in our opinion. They did not have gluten-free bread, so this was a strike against them. The service was reasonable. I would go back.

We stopped by at this restaurant during s visit to Middlebury. It is on the main street and has parking at the front. It is a quite a laid back place. It has a good variety of breakfast and lunch options. The food looks great and tastes great as well. The service is very friendly and quick. Recommended if you are in the area.

Yummy breakfast on the way out of VT. Staff was friendly. My latte was a great temperature and foamy. Vergennes is a cute place to stop with fun history to learn about.

Delicious food served hot. I had pancakes and my husband had a omelette. The only downside is you have to go up to the counter to order your food and then they bring it to your table. The great food makes up for this.
