Really inviting atmosphere, friendly and attentive service good quality food priced comfortably for quality. Would definitely recommend has a speakeasy kind of feel.

This was a mother/daughter getaway in Stowe, and we both had eaten at Harrison's before, so wanted to make it part of our stay. Everything was really nice. The atmosphere, our server, and most of the food. I do have to complain about one item....I asked the server whether the salmon was wild or farmed, and she said it was wild (brought in for a local seller). When I received the dish, it was obvious that it was not wild. The color was very light, almost the color of tuna. My daughter asked me not to say anything, so I didn't. I often eat wild salmon, either sockeye or coho, and farmed is much different. Not only the color, but it also doesn't have omega 3s, so it is not as moist. The flavor is much different. The cost was $35.00, so should have realized that wild would have probably been much higher. Other than the salmon, the rest of the food was very good. I will go back again, but next time will not order the salmon.More
This is a tiny place tucked in a downstairs corner. The atmosphere is cozy and warm. Staff is friendly and attentive. Food was attractively presented and tasty. Reservations are wise.
Couldn’t get a reserve til late so dined at the bar, but scored a booth. Excellent service and good food. We shared PEI mussels in a nice white wine sauce, a tasty beet salad with Granny Smith apples and blue cheese crumble and a butternut...squash ravioli in cheese sauce, also good though the sauce was so rich it almost overwhelmed the pasta.More
I can see why reservations in advance at Harrison's are necessary. It's not a big place, but warm and inviting with the fire going. Service was good and the food came out promptly. We each started with a Caesar salad that was good, but nothing...out of the ordinary. We enjoyed the braised short ribs and chicken piccata. The boneless ribs in that sauce with the mushrooms were excellent. We will definitely return the next time in Stowe.More
Great food in Stowe, excellent apps and the short ribs were absolutely fabulous. We were a big table of 8 and everything was spot on, and the service was fantastic!
We had a lovely time at this super cozy restaurant. It was worth the wait. Christmas lights, birch tree decorations and a view of the fireplace in Stowe, Vermont. What else could one want really? Our meal was delicious~ calamari, salad, mahi mahi and steak...tips. And delicious after dinner drinks. We were given plenty of time to eat and felt safely spaced from other diners. Would highly recommend this restaurant and we will be going back in January or February. Parking was maybe the only thing that was a tad tricky.More
We had tried to have dinner here the evening before however, they were not taking walk-ups at 8 pm but did make alternate suggestions. The next day, we didn't have reservations but arrived 30 minutes before they opened in the hopes of getting a walk-in...table. There were 2 couples already ahead of us but we knew the bar seating was first-come, first-serve and should be ok. The line grew as it drew closer to opening time. So it was an early dinner but we did get seated right away. The bar area is a nice enough ambience. I had the butternut squash salad and pecan encrusted salmon, my husband and both were very good. I believe some of their menu is seasonal. Service was good. I would eat here again.More
I had a very good meal with butternut squash salad and steak tips au poivre. I tried the special wine, a Sangiovese, and it complemented the meal perfectly. Server Anna D was friendly and helpful. I would eat here again.
Fantastic food- we took it for to go due to Covid, ordered the cheese platter, soups du jour (which were butternut squash and NE Cod chowder), the steak tips and the pecan encrusted salmon. The cheese was delicious. The butternut squash soups was great (and...I am not one for the sweet and salty mixture). The chowder was delicious, salty and creamy like it should be. But the real star was the pecan encrusted salmon- cooked to perfection, juicy, a divine mixture of sweet and salty luke I never tasted before. Outstanding. The steak tips were also great. Highly recommend- we will probably return.More
We made a reservation over two months ago, but unfortunately we weren't able to request a table outside. When we arrived all these tables were taken. We were concerned to eat inside because of covid, but decided to take a look at the table they...wanted to seat us at. It was in a booth toward the back of the restaurant. The booths are high backed so we couldn't see anyone on either side of us, and there was no one beside us, and we could feel air flow around us,so we felt quite comfortable. The wine and beer list were very nice and we each chose a drink. We each had a house salad which was nice size and had a lovely maple vinaigrette dressing. One of us had a vegetable risotto and the other had chicken piccata with mashed potatoes and green beans. Both dishes were fantastic. We had a piece of peanut butter pie for dessert. Also fantastic. Service was good and not overbearing. Prices were typical for the area.More
Harrisons is one of our favorite restaurants to go to th Stowe. Every year we come up for the British Invasion and make reservations to come here. The atmosphere, service and food are always excellent, cocktails too! We ordered diner salads with salmon and crab...cakes. Just what we were in the mood for, long with their warm bread and butter made the perfect meal. We ended it with carrot cake and key lime pie, delicious! I also need to add that Kristen our main server was the only waitress working the inside tables, 9+. She had lots of help from other staff members, and everything ran so smoothly, I hadn't notice this until we were leaving. You are all awesome!More
Wow now I understand why this place is considered the best restaurant in Stowe. Everything we ate was incredible (carrot ginger soup, awesome burger, shrimp scampi, hot fudge sundae) was absolutely incredible and the service from Crystal and staff was the best ever. I can't...wait to come back!More
We're glad we ended our vacation here. Nice people who have the restaurant under control. We had steak tips, shrimp scampi and salmon. All had nice touches and were well-executed. Smart wine advice. Highly recommended.
All of the positive reviews I read were right on the mark. The steak tips were delicious and the profiteroles were the best I've had outside of France. The service was excellent. Also, the owner or one of the managers went out of her way...to let us get reservations as the restaurant was busy, but she managed to fit us in.More
