I ordered by burger medium-rare, and it was very overcooked. If we'd noticed sooner, it appeared we'd just been given the wrong plates (although the waitress said "medium-rare" when she put mine done and "medium-well" when she put one of my friends' plates down. I...think we both would have been happy if we had just switched burgers.More

Had high hopes. Vegan Pad Thai was tasteless. Grilled half chicken was very good. Service was slow and inattentive. Had to ask for bread. Forgot drinks. Didn’t really seem like they cared a whole lot. Average.

I recently dined at plate with my mother, and I have to say it was one of the best dining experiences I have had in my life. The food, staff, and environment was absolutely spectacular and I recommend to all.

Our best meal in Stowe. My friend and I are both Vegetarian and found great options at Plate. We started with the Heart of Palm vegan crab cakes which fortunately do not taste like crab at all and which I would come back for any...day! Highly recommended. Next we had the heirloom tomatoes which were perfectly seasoned and fresh from the local farm. Finally we split the veggie burger. If you’ve had your share of veggie burgers you know that usually you take one bite and the whole burger squished down and falls a part. Through some sort of magic the burger at Plate managed to hold its shape, be flavorful and not too wet or dry. The locally baked bun complimented but did not overpower the burger. On top of the delish food, the space highlights art from local artists which we loved checking out. Kudos!More

We were visiting Stowe in August for our anniversary. We didn't make any reservations thinking it was off season. That was a mistake. Luckily, the folks at Plate found a spot and we had a wonderful meal. Fresh ingredients and an imaginative menu. Would recommend...to anyone.More

We came to plate some years back when it first opened and thought it was ok. We visited again on our most recent trip and was pleasantly surprised. The food, service and ambiance was great and I wish we had gone twice during our stay....We will definitely return when next in Stowe!!More

Maybe we just chose poorly from the menu or perhaps they were having a bad night, or maybe its just not so good. 2 of 3 Starters were just plain meritless, a ridiculously expensive and sad $7 bread basket and an $11 roasted cauliflower that...wasn’t roasted and had nothing to it in terms of flavor. The fried oysters were okay. Main dishes were passable sort of but not really at $30 a piece. Mediocre portions that were just okay. We had one salad that was okay but also weak on flavor. Chocolate cake was great but our coffees were served warm not hot, ending on a rather sad note for an item that’s not that hard to make right. Also, we read after dining that one of the signatures of the place is some fancy sea salt that we never received. All in all, we wouldn’t suggest going here except for dessert and even then, why bother?More

One of the best in Stowe. Very hard to get in so make sure you make your reservation early. You can always try and sneak in with a seat at the bar. Excellent food & great vibe.

The food was good but not great. My wife's chicken was undercooked. The service was slow even when we were the only ones in the restaurant and there were 3 servers chatting 4 feet from us. Was hoping for more.

Sorry, thought I had answered this. Yes, full menu at bar first come first serve. We are reserved, and sold out, including the bar, for New Years. Hope this helps!
