Husband's birthday while we were in Stowe, he chose Mexican and we had high expectations. The only thing good were the margaritas. Where we live in upstate NY, chips and salsa are always endless - they are charging $1.50 per refill of each! Any restauranteur who wants people to drink more drinks should offer free chips & salsa! Special of... More

Had a meal here early evening, with two kids. First chips and salsa is free, then you have to pay. I have never seen that at a Mexican restaurant before. Meals were very good. Kids menu and small plates were a bit hit. Sangria was some of the best. Took an awful long time for out check to come and... More

Unfortunately, we decided to try this place since we were tired of going to pub food/pizza places...which is common in this area. We should have just stuck to the more common restaurants. The place itself is dark, hot and stuffy and it took a very long time to get our food which was surprising since it really wasn't too crowded.... More

Our family of four visited the restaurant for dinner. We ordered calamari and stake and chicken fajitas. The calamari size was tiny. They were cut in very thing rings and had an odd color (too white). Fajitas came on two plates, which totally ruined the presentation: cheese, sour cream, tomatoes, and guac were on one small round plate; rice, beans,... More

The staff were happy, bubbly, attentive and knowledgeable. The drink service was lightening fast and the ordering was made easy by a very good waitress. Unfortunately my dish was very bland and uninteresting. Would I come back.... yes for the drinks and staff but not for the food.

I ordered their mexican sampler plate that included an enchilada, burrito, and taco. Each came with a different meat, which I appreciated tasting. However I thought the food was overall very bland and the $7 order of guacamole we bought to top our food with was among the worst guacamole I've tasted.

Wanted authentic Mexican food and read previous trip advisor reviews. Waitress was friendly but I didnt realize they had daily specials and she did not offer them. Heard it being said after my order already went in and I would have preferred an item on special. Food was portioned well but some came out very hot and refried beans on... More

The bartender at this restaurant makes the best Mojitos I have ever had. The menu is a good basic Mexico with innovative specials. Plates are loaded and the help is friendly.

The two margaritas were weak and watery, and the nachos and guacamole were more of the same. Our server was nice and was trying hard, but it seemed to be his first day on the job as we had to make multiple requests for plates and water. I asked a question about the margaritas on the menu and his response... More

We have dined at Cactus Grill for many years and have considered it to be one of the best Mexican restaurants we have eaten at. This time, however, we found our favorite appetizer no longer on the menu - queso chihuahua. The nachos were average. The entrees were overcooked. We normally eat there a few times. This will be the... More
