In the world of Stowe Covid we came across this hidden jewel. We come here every year for the 4th of July. This year was different as the few places we knew of were jammed with waits over an hour easily, even to o go....We saw the sign that said open and pulled in and had the surprise we hoped for. Although a limited menu and seating they graciously seated us with our two golden retrievers and served us some of the best Mexican street food we’ve had since Mexico. The shrimp tacos were incredible as were the brisket tacos. Make certain to order the Mexican Street corn. The service was perfect as was the food. Angela our waitress was a sweetheart. Do yourselves a favor, avoid the long waits. We ate here twice this trip and it was perfect.More

Four adults 5pm dinner on a Sunday in early March 2020. Wide variety of tequilas, a few mezcal and a premium sotol - all approachably priced. Large choice of specialty cocktails designed by Otis - a barman of many talents including making his very own...house bitters. The Oaxaca Old Fashioned was terrific - a tequila, a mezcal, agave, house orange and mole bitters - delicious!!! The crab beignets were incredibly delicious - $1/piece before 6pm. Delicious but filling so do NOT overindulge. The roasted beet salad with goat cheese - all agreed was perfect. The winter squash salad needs a bit of work to fully cook and get the bitterness out. The staff were very understanding and open to our feedback - not charging us for it. You want to try the blue corn soft tortilla tacos- the avo (avocado), the shrimp, pork belly ones are highly recommended- inexpensive and filling. The smoked beef brisket taco was a bit too dry for our palates especially after the tasty other tacos. Again the staff appreciated our feedback. Definitely a fun place to try a few times given the many menu and cocktail choices. Our server Sean was terrific- appropriately attentive and graciously polite throughout our evening.More

Menu was interesting but good. Not your typical tacos - Bahn mi, avocado and beef brisket plus lots of other Asian noodle and fun food. Friendly and familiar vibe. Would go again and get a cocktail. The drink menu had a range of choices and...beer.More

This new restaurant specializes in tapas and tacos. The chickpea fries and fried cauliflower were very good as were the chicken and shredded pork taco specials. The bar is well-stocked and has also a selection of local beers. Prices were moderate and service outstanding. The...bartender gave us a brief presentation on local craft beers. We are sure that, as word gets out, they will be much busier than on the night when we were there.More

My wife and I are up from Delaware skiing and we saw that Over the Wall had Taco Tuesday and we decided to go there for dinner after skiing Sugarbush. I had 3 different tacos and 4 of the Crab Beignets. I had a Korean...style taco, Banh Mi, with crispy pork belly, and it was delicious. I also had a sweet chili fried shrimp, which was also delicious. My 3rd taco was smoked brisket and I thought it was just ok, not enough smoky flavor and spicing for me, although my wife had 2 brisket tacos, saved 1 because it was buy 2 get one free, and she thought they were good, not great! The crab beignets were very light, hot, and tasty! We were served by Sean , who did a great job and was very attentive! We also had a couple of tequila drinks that were very good! They have a varied and interesting menu , the interior is very nice, and I would certainly come back and try other dishes here!More

We tried Over the Wall because it was the only spot in town with an open table. It used to be Cactus Cafe and the interior of the restaurant was completely done over. Ot was about 1/3 full and had odd energy inside, it looks...more new ageish than Mexican. The food was average. I had some lobster dumplings in a soup of some kind (not sure if thats a Mexican special) the dumplings were definitely frozen before they were served. With all the competition in Stowe I wonder how long that wall will last.More

My favourite restaurant in Stowe. Always tasty fresh food - an interesting Mexican/Asian fusion which makes such a refreshing change from the bog-standard burger. The staff are friendly and helpful too. Can't wait to go back.

Over the Wall, located in the former Cactus Café space, has the bones of a good new restaurant and we hope it will do well. The parking lot was still under construction when our family stopped in, so don't be put off by that --...they are open for business! The pretty interior has been redone with handsome wall murals and they were working on installing a new back patio, too. We sat at the bar and had cocktails and small plates on our way to dinner elsewhere. The crab beignets, patatas bravas, and green chorizo dumplings were all very good; the chef clearly knows what he's doing. Cocktails were very good too and the bartender was very pleasant. The only downside was that service was quite slow, even though there was only one other party in the restaurant. I put this down to the bartender being very meticulous with his drink preparation. Nevertheless, we enjoyed Over the Wall and plan to return to try more of its Asian-Hispanic fusion offerings.More

I don't usually give a review if I don't like somewhere, but I really have to this time. The food is overpriced for what you get, the rice was white and plain, it was supposed to have flavor but it didn't, it was just nothing...and $5.00 for a tiny bowl. Yhe shrimp was very good but price for what you got. Drinks were terrible, that is all I can say.More
