The food was plentiful and good quality but not exciting. I had beef which was tasty and my husband had the white turkey dinner which he enjoyed. The sides were as expected. The accompanying salad was very good.

This easy to find establishment offers a fairly limited menu but we quickly discovered it’s done for a purpose. Not attempting to cater to all tastes allows Chef David to give detailed attention to each menu item, thus insuring that each consists of quality ingredients...and and professional skill. The combination results In delicious food and a memorable experience. While the wine list is not extensive, it’s thoughtful and compliments the food. And not to be overlooked are excellent dessert choices. If you are enjoying your dinner as much as we did, it may be because you met waitress Mitzie whose charm, good humor and attention to detail complimented your evening. Her smile is infectious and also sincere.More
We had a very delightful meal at Pauline's when we were traveling through. Everything we ordered was prepared well, presented well and tasted very good. Our server was attentive and a little harried (we assume from being a tad understaffed). All in all a very...good meal. We would return.More
Staying over night at local hotel several blocks away from this establishment when discovered it’s existence and positive reviews. Took opportunity to visit it on Sunday evening as is closed the next two days. Quickly made reservation on open table for the two of us....When walked in was quickly met by hostess who acknowledged our reservation and offered us our choice of table or booth for seating. We were seated with menus in a nearby booth. I opted for one of their signature drinks called sweet heat. We ordered oyster Rockefeller & Thai shrimp for appetizers. Our main course entrees were seafood (cod, shrimp & salmon) broil & shrimp risotto. Appetizers arrived within 10 minutes & all were hot and delicious when brought to table. Approximately 10 minutes later the entrees were delivered and were hot and equally filled with flavor. The restaurant is located on a major through fare in S. Burlington and easily accessible by the public. We found the inside quiet with an inviting ambience to enjoy while we dined. I would recommend you try this restaurant when you desire a cut above special treat in dining. You won’t go wrong here.More
The food was really good & for Burlington, a reasonable price (mid-range). The popovers were delicious. But, the cheese plate came without crackers... odd. Our server was attentive. But, as someone else noted, the interior needs a full update. The lovely food was dampened by...the ambiance.More
We have eaten here many times. Last year we were pleasantly surprised by the good service and great food. I have to say, nothing has changed with the decor in over 20 years. It needs a total makeover. Service was subpar and the food was...just OK tonight. It’s time for a change.More
Excellent menu and superb dinners and service! Our server, Jay, was very knowledgeable and attentive. Our service was accurate, and efficient! He knew the menu, how things were prepared, and offered options for those with allergies/sensitivities. I will definitely be back!
The food at Pauline's was excellent, and overall we enjoyed the meal, but service was extremely slow and inattentive the evening we were there. .
Very interesting and diverse menu at Pauline's. Based on what we ordered the server realized my husband might be vegan and pointed out the special soup he ordered might have cream. She offered to confirm and to bring him a sample. We ordered the cauliflower...steak and white bean and spinach and enjoyed both. The tomato soup was vegan and especially satisfying on a rainy, dreary night. We're here for a week and plan to return.More
We got the steelhead trout and the filet, both medium, both cooked to perfection as always. Pauline's is always reliable. And they have some of the best cocktails around. I'm not much of a cocktail drinker, but everything I've tried has been incredible. Friendly, professional...staff, and a more intimate, relaxed atmosphere compared to downtown.More
Found this gem of a restaurant in South Burlington Vt! The food was exquisite! The steelhead trout dinner was so delicious. We were greeted at the door by the owner-chef. He was so welcoming and seated us at a lovely table for two in the...main dining room. Our server Whit was attentive without being overbearing and we were totally surprised when he informed us after the meal that he was new to his role. Kudos to this restaurant for " the whole package"! We will definitely return when we are in this area again.More
Dinner here was terrific; staff were efficient & friendly. One appetizer was so delicious & different that I had to write down the description to try & copy at home.
Went to join relatives to catch up after many months of Covid lockdown. Relatives got lost and never found the place, but we enjoyed a great meal. Nicely decorated place with very attentive staff. Even "Sam" our waitress, who was one her first day of...work, was very professional. The winter salad was very good. The crab mac and cheese was excellent. The broiled seafood was good. Maple Creme Brulee was very good, the flourless chocolate cake was not the best I'd ever had. Lots of Gluten free options on the menu.More
Since spring, three of us get take-out every Sunday. The food is always tasty and cooked to perfection. A special treat is that they carefully plate each dinner in a take out container so that it looks delicious in the container, but is easy enough...to replate at home to look like you're in the restaurant. Paulines is our highlight of the week in these trying times. Eat local. PattiMacMore
Food was delicious, service was friendly and very efficient. Only downfall was a very noisy table of three across from us, who obviously didn’t realize they weren’t the only ones in the room.
