Excellent drip coffee. Wonderfully rich pastries. Their peppery sausage gravy and homemade biscuits is out of this world. Relaxed atmosphere and attentive, friendly staff.

I’ve been a regular visitor to Burlington for the past 7 years but only found out about Monarch & the Milkweed yesterday! Omg, I can’t believe I’ve been missing out on this deliciousness for so long! Yesterday we sampled the pancakes, patty melt and grilled...cheese which were not only presented as works of art, they were tasty beyond belief! We had to go back it was so good so today we tried the macaroni and cheese, the fried chicken sandwich and the chicken and waffles. Everything was beautifully presented and yummy! The mimosas were delicious with their fresh squeezed orange juice. The staff was friendly and so hard working! My new favorite place in Burlington!More

Went specifically for grilled cheese based on recommendation from local. And OMG, the hype did not adequately capture the awesomeness of their grilled cheese lunch option. I’m in my 50s, a global traveler, a foodie and I just had the best grilled cheese sandwich ever....Oh and it was paired perfectly with a spicy tomato soup. We both managed to finish our grilled cheese sandwiches and soups so we then went for the Brooklyn blackout. Yes it was unbelievably good and yes they are known for their desserts but they also have great food! A must try if you are in the area!! After all that food, I had to take a nap :)More

We stopped for coffee and desserts. It was our first stop in Burlington. Wonderful desserts and atmosphere. Delicious desserts. It was a lovely place to have conversations, drinks and food with friends or with your loved one. Loved it!

We stopped by this teeny spot for an after dinner drink. No detail has been overlooked from the embossed napkins to the lighting. The drinks menu is nice and varied with really good cocktails. They also had an attractive array of desserts. I'd definitely recommend...it for drinks and its groovy vibe.More

My husband and I went here for breakfast on a Sunday. There was one table left so we were excited to be able to sit since a friend had recommended to come here. We waited for 20 minutes before getting water and silverware. We put...our entire order in as soon as the waitress arrived since we had already been there for a while. The yogurt, fruit, and granola was very tasty with a great mix of different fruit. The breakfast sandwich on an English muffin was smaller than expected. The side of hash browns were delicious and worth it. It was very busy inside and everyone was friendly, but we were a little disappointed.More

Chicken with waffles tasted like pepper. Beet salad warm and tasted like Hannafords vinaigrette. Mostly lettuce, only a few small pieces of beet. Reasonably priced, but totally average tood. Maybe we expected too much based on the reviews, but given the crowd and the cramped,...noisy room, we won't be back.More

The service was great, and everybody was also very helpful with choices. I had the Venison Chili, and it was fantastic. My wife had the grilled cheese and tomato soup, and she loved it - Great little fun place for lunch

They have a great eye for detail from the flower on the table to the beautiful presentation of every food item. The waffles were delicious, with real Vermont maple syrup and farm butter. The eggs were really fresh with the yellowet yolks I have ever...seen. Endless tasty coffee that was actually hot and served with real milk. The homemade English muffin was delicious. The seating was tight but not unpleasant. Our waitress was very attentive without being intrusive.More

A tiny bit off the beaten trail. Nice source of both food and drink. Their pastries are to die for. Even if you go to another establishment to have dinner, you can't go wrong with dessert at Monarch's.
