Dull, uninteresting food. Multiple bottles of sauces on the table - to hide the dullness and add a little flavor. And overpriced - a lunch for two almost $100. Service was friendly.

We enjoyed a delicious lunch at Pica Pica. Lance provided excellent service. The food was outstanding. Fresh, flavorful and great presentation. It is truly a treasure to have this restaurant in our region of Vermont. Ample serving size, beautiful presentation and the restaurant ambience is...very pleasant. There is a great variety of food. Don't be afraid to give Filipino cuisine a try. Prices are reasonable We have fallen in love!More

We wanted to go for lunch and looked at the reviews and the website, it implied you would need reservations, even for lunch, and in fact the first day we wanted to go it said they had no openings for our times, so we picked...the next day, made a reservation and later when we checked again, it showed everything until 2:30 in the afternoon booked. So it was with much surprise when we got there at 11:30, the time of our reservation, no one else was there and they didn't even ask about a reservation, and while we were there another few people came in, no one with a reservation. Odd, we thought. We had never had Filipino food before so we ordered 4 different tapas. The service was polite, but not very informative when I asked about sizes of the portions, we were told it was tapas, small plates. No good info. The food was good, the skewers were excellent, seasoning and cooked perfectly, chicken and beef. The chicken wings were in an asian chili sauce and were good wings, not particularly special. We got a variety of steamed dumplings that were quite good, some more so than others, the dipping sauce was different, at least for us. The pork belly was great, perfectly cooked, nice and crispy, but still tender with absolutely no grease. But we found its dipping sauce lacking the ability to enhance the pork belly. The belly great, dipping sauce not so much. The vibe and the too loud music, which was actually turned off half way through our meal was overwhelming. We did not find it particularly welcoming or friendly. We won't go back. Oh yes, and so expensive, $75 for tapas and no drinks...More

The food was hand made, the lumpias were amazing. The portions were excellent, service was perfect with a smile. A great experience and open for lunch. The prices were impressive for the chefs talent and the overall service. Check out the first bathroom. It is...also a unique one way experience.More

The trip to Pica-pica started out as my boyfriend’s birthday request. Both of my parents are from the Philippines, and after trying my moms adobo and pancit from their local take out spot, he’s found a love for Filipino food. Having grown up eating Filipino...food, I have to admit I’ve taken my heritage for granted. Still, it’s what he wanted for his birthday so I made reservations. We drove an hour up from the Upper Valley and it was more than worth the drive. I had always hoped that Filipino cuisine would one day find its way into sit down dining. I’m so happy to see this done in New England and to see it exceed all of my expectations. The staff was so friendly and beyond hospitable. While we looked over the menu, we were served pan de sal. I felt like a little kid again. We were so happy to see that the pork belly dish I grew up with was made with locally raised pork! My boyfriend ordered the pancit canton, and the portion was so enormous that it could have fed two! Of course he loved it so much that he finished the whole dish. I ordered the bbq chicken and pork, and it honestly took me back to the bbq pork skewers and grilled chicken that I enjoy whenever I visit my mom’s family in the Visayas. During our meal I learned that our server was from the same region as my mom. I was still a little timid to try to say anything in Visaya while ordering our entrees, but the ambiance from the Tagalog songs of my dad’s youth and seeing my boyfriend try halo halo for the first time, I felt so comfortable that after paying the check, I smiled at the server and said “salamat”.More

If you are traveling in the Vermont/New Hampshire area and suddenly had the urge for Filipino cuisine, then this is the right place, and maybe, the only place that will satisfy your cravings. The inside of the restaurant presents a cozy, yet classy vibe but...very unpretentious. The staff are very accommodating and make you feel very welcome. The treatment you get from the staff along with the total simplicity of the restaurant design provide an ambiance of anticipation for an exciting culinary experience. After finally choosing from their variety of menu and getting a taste of the food, you will find that the Owner and Chef of the place, George Sales, is giving you a twist of his style in creating the Filipino recipe. The lumpiang Shanghai is not dry and has a secret taste in it (which my wife figured out but I will let you guess it for yourself). The sisig is excellent but it is totally different from the usual sisig of regular Filipino restaurants in the East Coast. This sisig makes you want for more every time you put a spoonful in your mouth. It's crazy! I feel like I am blessed with different flavors every time I chew and my tongue touches the meat playfully. The kare-kare, once again, is different, but in a very good way. I didn't feel that I am just eating dinner. Rather, I feel like I am having a true culinary experience provided by George. I munched on the lechon kawali like there is no tomorrow.LOL. My group of friends ordered different dishes from the menu and were very impressed also. I am sure they will post their review, too. And for customers who are non-Asians, don't worry, George has a variety of meat dishes to choose from, which I guarantee will give you that desire to come back and try for more. All I can say is, Thank You, George and I wish you more success! Don't be afraid to push your culinary talent to the front. And for all of you foodies reading this, try it when you happen to be in the area. You will not regret your decision and most likely, will come back again.More

This was our second time back to Pica Pica and it was just as amazing as the first! We drove all the way from Burlington, and it was worth every minute. I would drive back again in a heartbeat just for the lechon alone! Amazing...food and amazing service, a taste of home for Filipinos in Vermont.More

I had lunch here, having never had Filipino food before. I got their chicken adobo, a dish slowly cooked in vinegar, soy sauce, and garlic. It was one of the best meals I've ever had. The chicken was so flavorful and so tender it could...fall off the fork. It came with Jasmine rice and some warm marinated vegetables. The complimentary homemade biscuits were also a treat, and their sangria was great! The decor was simple and inviting, and service was very friendly and efficient (the chef even came out to say hello). And, the prices were so reasonable for the food quality and portions. A meal like I had would have cost twice as much in my neck of the woods. Pica-Pica would be a weekly destination restaurant if I didn't live three hours away, and if I did live around here, I'd be here 2-3 times a week.More

My husband and I both ordered the Adobo Special. The special for the evening came with small spring rolls. Lots of them. As I told my husband after tasting them, “ if this is any indication about our main course, we’ve hit the jackpot.” Our...main course was seasoned to perfection. The chicken was flavorful and extremely tender. The vegetables: squash, zucchini and onion were seasoned like nothing I had ever tasted before. And the rice had a nice flavor too. I’m just sad that we are passing through this little town and won’t have an opportunity to return and experience more of their dishes.More

We read about Pica Pica on Trip Advisor and were eager to find out why this restaurant had so many 5 star reviews. Decided to take an extra hour and a half drive on our way home to Longmeadow MA from Burlington VT and we...were very happy we made the side trip! Wow, really authentic and yummy Filipino food and best of all, the owner/chef, George Sales was exceptionally warm, charming, and knowledgeable! His friend and server, Em was just as warm and accommodating! Whether you are driving by St Johnsbury VT or taking a longer drive just to get there, the stop is worth every second! This will be a favorite stop for us when we travel north!More

I stopped here for dinner last week after a family trip to Montreal. With my family’s Filipino heritage, we were pleasantly surprised with the quality of the food and service. This speaks a lot after growing up in California and having plenty of Filipino offerings...available. George the owner and his staff have a great setup and wonderful atmosphere!More

We happened upon Pica-Pica on our way through St. Johnsbury and were thrilled to try something new. The food and service were excellent. Large portions, carefully prepared appetizers and entrees, and attentive servers made it clear that great care is put into every aspect of...the customer's experience. We also applaud the owner's commitment to paying servers a living wage and not leaving it all to tips (which are optional if you wish to pay in addition to what is included- all noted at the bottom of the menu). I must say we are baffled by the last review and have a hard time believing that we are speaking about the same restaurant. We found the staff to be extremely generous and gracious hosts and we appreciated their efforts in sharing some of the heritage and culture of the Philippines which, if you have ever visited, is exemplified by warm hospitality and care. We highly recommend Pica-Pica if you wish to try something new, but for those who are "too picky" to politely give different tastes a try, stick to I-91 and the next fast food rest stop and give the rest of us a break.More

Eat absolutely anywhere in St. J but here. We had to send three of the four entrées back to the kitchen (uncooked shrimp, spoiled and burned milkfish, and mushy flavorless noodles). After we left the restaurant, one of the people in our party threw up....To top it off the fiasco took two hours from start to finish. The service is absolutely beyond slow, I can honestly say this is probably the worst meal that we’ve ever had.More
