Wow, what happened to this place? It us to be our go to when we visited VT, but now anymore. The menu is completely different, the service is beyond slow (over 40 minutes to get 2 omelets from time they took the order) and the...food is now just OK, not great... it use to be great. The prices went up of course. Just not worth it anymore.More

Met with friends for a midmorning breakfast and reconnect session. Found they had a "breakfast salad" and I decided to give it a try The presentation was perfect and the salad was beyond wonderful. The salad was a special but I do hope it becomes...a part of their menu. The service and ambiance are welcoming and comfortable . Booths and table service inside as well as a few seats at the counter, outside seating on the generous porch during warm weather. The chef is inventive so I'm sure there will be more interesting specials as well as their interesting regular menus for breakfast and lunch. Be sure to stop if you are in town or passing through. Oh, and I really should also mention real maple milkshakes!More

After slowly making our way from Woodstock to Stowe on the back roads we were starved by the time we ran across this little gem of a place. We were quickly seated. Right off the bat I noticed they had root beer floats on the...menu so of course I had to order one as my 'appetizer'. It was soooo good. Stop in if you all pass that way. It won't disappoint.More

Lovely, old fashioned decor. Great little soda fountain. Easy parking. Service was really friendly. Country Store offerings ....high quality, local crafters and products. Food was delicious and fresh. The whole experience was a wonderful way to prepare for my 4 hour ride home. It felt...like a step back in time, only with current food offerings and a fabulous coffee selection. I will return.....More

We happened across this place while exploring Rt 100 Scenery. We were able to walk right in and were promptly served. We both ordered salads and enjoyed them immensely. My wife had The Harvest Salad and I the Cobb. Both were generous servings and loaded...with a lot more than greens. We felt lucky to happen upon this place - I'm sure we passed several restaurants in the small towns and villages along Rt 100, but this one the first to really catch our eye (it is hard to miss). Highly Recommended.More

Stopped to order a wrap and a BLT to go. Over an hour later still no food. Ridiculous wait time and a wasted afternoon. Won't stop there again.

We were traveling from Boston to Middlebury when we came upon the Cafe in Rochester. A well preserved gem. Ice cream counter, rustic interior....a grand ole place. Great menu selection with a great special of the day. Wait staff were super friendly. Meal was great.....I...really enjoyed the Maple cream pie - it to die for! Prices are super good. They have a small shop of goods too. I would highly recommend this place!!!!!!More

We’ve been coming to the Cafe for over 15 years. It’s funny nobody ever seems to recognize us, or at least my husband, who goes in there more than I at times. Anyway, food is always good. Expect to wait a little on weekends, or...a lot, on holiday weekends. The store attached is very nice to occupy you while you’re waiting for a table. You may not escape without picking up a few soaps or a pair of hand-knitted gloves! Breakfast is a bit more scrumptious than lunch, but both meals will at this restaurant will certainly satisfy. It’s not cheap, but it’s worth it. The milkshakes are outstanding. The pancakes are incredibly fluffy and the syrup? What do you think...?!More
