We had a surprise dinner at Maple Soul, courtesy of our VRBO host. The service, food and atmosphere were fantastic. I had the pickled veggies (from the chef's garden!) and smoked salmon appetizer and the fish and chips. Both were out of this world! My...boyfriend had the ribs, which he said were delicious. The craft beer menu is extensive. Olivia knew every detail of the food, beer and wine and provided attentive and cheerful service. The entire experience was a delight!More

Two of us sat at one of the 4 or so tables in front of the small bar, with a view of Main St., and the mountains across the way. It was around 6:00, and not super busy. 4 draft beers, plus dozens in cans...and bottles, with many local brews. I had to go with Heady Topper, which was great. I ordered a pork loin special, while my wife ordered the strip steak. My wife loved the steak, which came with fries. She ordered it rare, and it sure was that! My pork had a delicious sauce on it, with rosemary and some vegetables. It was very tasty, but the pork was well done, not great, even though it tasted great. Just kind of tough to cut, and to chew. Mine came with roasted potatoes which were very good. We split an Apple Crisp for dessert. The apples were very fresh, but personally I thought the dish was boring. Just a mild apple flavor, but not much else.More

Dined here towards the end of September and found a great combination of creative cooking, informal atmosphere, wonderful and friendly service, and great value. Just as the restaurant is a compact and cozy place, the menu is also compact and cozy! We started with an...order of hush puppies served with an aioli sauce and they were delicious. Our entrees were the baby back ribs and the petite pork loin chop. both served with an appealing plating of the dish and done perfectly. Hand cut fries and cole slaw with the ribs, roasted small potatoes with the pork loin were well matched compliments. Desert was a shared maple creme brulee, the perfect ending. Portions were just right, just below the "I'd like a doggie bag" level! The menu was efficient and creative, not too much to overwhelm your senses or burden the kitchen with doing lots of different dishes to a mediocre finish... rather the ten or so entrees, you can be assured, will each arrive at your table without compromising quality due to an attempt to fill up the menu with every possible dish. We saw burgers, a steak, swordfish... and something that I really was intrigued with... macaroni and cheese (there's no looking back, but I almost ordered it!) Farm to table with local ingredients, three or four craft brews on tap, several more in bottles and cans, and a wine list that, again, was compact but covering the bases well. Eat here, you'll love it!More

We dined at Maple Soul twice during our recent Vermont vacation. Great burgers, very good spicy shrimp mac & cheese dish, excellent sword fish special. Our only complaint was my wife steak was over cooked on one of our visits.

My partner & another couple went here for dinner one hot Saturday night in July, hoping for an excellent meal and great beverages. My friends were told that Maple Soul had the best craft beer selection around. On all fronts, they did not disappoint! We...tried 4 appetizers: mussels, ahi tuna, scallops, and the hush puppies. The tuna, scallops, and hush puppies were AMAZING. The mussels were good, but were a little lackluster next to the other 3- they could use a tiny bit of tweaking & a punch more flavor. 3 of us had the monkfish, which was also incredible (the coconut curry sauce packed a zing & was SO GOOD!). My partner had a burger and loved every bite. We also enjoyed the Lobetia rosado wine, while my partner enjoyed a local stout (he loves dark beer and was not wanting for options). What a great night. Wonderful food, wonderful friends, it was a treat all around.More

We have been to Maple Soul twice in the last month and have been delighted on both occasions. Maple Soul is a “Farm to Table” restaurant nestled in the lovely Green Mountain town of Rochester, VT. The owners of Maple Soul have discovered the perfect...combination of comfort food, created by a chef who can add that spark of the next level, while still pleasing a wide variety of tastes, at reasonable prices. The ambiance is a charming Vermont Farmhouse, that has an intimate setup with warm colors, fresh flowers and friendly staff. The menus is perfect for someone looking for something special, but still has items to please the kids and teens. I highly recommend the Vermont MAC and Cheese; they have managed to make a creamy sauce that holds the delicious, sharp cheddar flavor of the local cheeses. My daughter had the ribs and fresh cut French fries and was one happy teen. We also split the fresh, salad with a sweet And tangy house dressing, that was delicious. Oh, and Craft Beer Selection...as a big Vermont Craft Beer fan, I can tell you that Maple Soul is a great place to sample several of the local breweries, including the Alchemist’s Heady Topper, Upper Pass, First Drop and Lawson’s Sip of Sunshine. All in all, Maple Soul is a gem in the heart of Vermont’s Green Mountains. Note: Vermont is basically rural, so you will have to drive another 30 to 45 minutes to find its equal. We highly recommend this restaurant.More

Absolutely recommended. Good quality ingredients, very nicely prepared, wait staff very friendly and attentive. I had a curried monkfish that had a nice kick but not too much. The burrata with roasted tomatoes was terrific. Apple crisp for dessert was delicious. I think some of...the best food available in the white river valley today.More

This place is great for dinner or drinks and appetizers, though when I was there it looked like they were doing lunch on Fridays and Saturdays? The staff are super friendly and knowledgeable about the dishes and ingredients. I love the idea of incorporating local...ingredients to build the menu. The food was really delicious, tasting fresh and creative. The space is also comfortable with a lot of light, big windows, and historic charm. I had the fried green tomatoes and a side of asparagus and my boyfriend had the ribs. Both were really delicious!More

Finally got to eat at Maple Soul after looking at the menu for the last 8 months! On a recent visit the table shared some hush puppies and I shared a Caesar Salad with my granddaughter. If this was the way our meal started we...were in for a treat. My order of ribs had fall off the bone meat not smothered with sauce as some restaurants do homemade french fries and a yummy creamy coleslaw. My grandson had the mac and cheese and granddaughter enjoyed the chicken with roasted vegetables. Everyone left with full bellies. This is a restuarant to sit and enjoy each other and the food. My daughter and I went back the next night and I enjoyed a very large bowl of mussels. Make sure you ask for a spoon to taste the broth it was that good. There are staple items on the menu but changes on a regular basis so check web site or give them a call. Only beer and wine available. Go in sit down relax and savor the food and your company. They are only open for dinner but plan to be open for lunch during the summer.More

My family was in VT visiting our daughter and her boyfriend who live in the area. They wanted to take us to Maple Soul and we were not disappointed at all. We had wings as an appetizer...incredible, and I had the shrimp and grits entree...which was delicious. We also had the salmon special which was equally delicious. The chef/owner talked with us quite a bit. Its a small place with great atmosphere and great food. Highly Recommend.More
