Nice place on the water, I got the fish and chips and was very disappointed. I think they took it out of a Gordon fish box, it was cut almost square and did not taste good at all .

Eight of us traveled from upstate New York on motorcycles to enjoy our annual Autumn ride and lunch on the lake. Our visit last year and previous visits have been very good. Our 2022 visit, not so much. The Seafood Chowder had plenty of potatoe...and only salmon bits for the "seafood". The Chicken & Biscuits had only about a half of cup of chicken with a large biscuit. The Spinach dip contained a very small portion of chips, which were all broken, and the dip was cold in the middle. The server was courteous and did an excellent job.More

, We dined here on Sept 29 at 5:30 pm. This is a popular restaurant in Newport. Nice view dockside at the water. Restaurant was clean. Restroom was clean. Wait staff was decent and was honest about the menu. She did not promote something if...she had not had it. My wife had the Shrimp Scampi which was plentiful and the seafood was very fresh. I had the Harbor Master which was 5 large scallops, 4 large shrimp, haddock and a seafood stuffing. lots of sauce on top which I did not like. Otherwise it was very good. Rice on the side. A bread loaf was served before the meal. Total price before tip was $70. We would eat here again.More

Went there with my wife for cocktails and appetizers. Sat at a small round table next to the bar and waited 10 minutes without even an acknowledgement. Counted 4 outside tables occupied and 4 wait staff so I guess the staff is overwhelmed if given...more than 1 table. I’m happy with just an acknowledgment e.g. “ be right with you” but nothing, like we didn’t exist. One and done for us.More

The absolute WORST bartender I've ever encountered in my 30+ years running restaurants! 1. Saturday night. 6:00 PM. Bar is 1/3 full. 2. Takes FOREVER (at lwast 10 Minutes after I pushed my empty glass up to the edge of the bar) before he deigns...to ask me if I'd like another. Plenty of time to talk with his buddy down at the center of the bar, and passed by us twice to ask the servers at the terminal right in front of me what they did last night. And then no personality - just "another Glenlivet? 3. Then after waiting 1 minutes for him to ask us what we wanted for dinner, I got up and told the hostess that we were having a rough time at the bar, and I needed to see the manager. 4. Lauri comies over. Turns out she's just filling in, and not even on the full time staff. Took the time to speak with us, and commiserate. Agreed he was 'short and rude'. Hilarious! 5. FINALLY asks us what we want for entrees. By this time I'm so disgusted, I just order, eat, and we leave. And then I did something I've never ever done in all my career as a restaurant GM. I stiffed him. Wrote 'No Tip' on the tip line. Pyrrhic victory of sorts. This guy has zero personality, and no interest or pride in his craft. He's a Drink Maker, NOT a Bartender. And I'd like to thank Mgr. Dina for coming over to check on us. .....Wait!! She NEVER came!! Mr Owner - your bar at peak period on a Saturday night was 1/3 full, and you had one lousy bartender scheduled. Hm-mmm.......I'm sensing a trend here. AND let's not forget the Caspar the Ghost of a manager. Great team, boss. Wonder how your sales are against last year. I'm guessing flat to down. But a serious thanks to Lauri. She was the one bright spot of the night. She should be full-time! And stay away from the boneless wings. Awful! 10 per cent chicke, 90 per cent breading. YECCH!! Almost forgot the short pour on my drink. I don't mind paying. I normally drink Macallen. But that little tiny glass is a ripoff for rocks drinks is a ripoff!More

Supper pleasant staff, the food was absolutely delicious, perfectly cooked seafood platter (fish and scallops melts in your mouth). The setting by the water topped it off!! Great job guys!!!

Many if not most restaurants in Newport seem to close at 9pm, so we raced out to the closet place to our hotel at 8pm one Friday evening. We weren't disappointed. We sat at the bar and enjoyed our food and a drink while listening...to a duo play hits from the 80s. (Very talented musicians.) The fish tacos were exceptional, with a spicy sauce that had a nice kick to it and well-cooked fish. The staff were all super friendly and attentive. They checked on us frequently to make sure we had everything we needed, but we never felt like we were being rushed even as the band started playing "Closing Time" behind us. We'll definitely come back the next time we're in Newport.More

We ate a lunch and a dinner here. We sat at the bar both times. If you like home made comfort food this place has it. I had a bowl of beef vegetable soup that was outstanding. No little bowl either. The poutine is excellent...too. The only strike against the place was the slow and chaotic service. There’s plenty of staff on hand but IMHO they were disorganized. Great place otherwise.More

Following a snowshoe race, we stopped at the Eastside Restaurant for lunch with a group of over a dozen college students. I informed the hostess that they are likely to order plenty of chocolate milk and if crayons and coloring pages are available, they would...appreciate both. The menu had plenty of fine options, and of course they drank plenty of chocolate milk with their burgers, fries, soup, chicken, fish, etc. The service was great and the wait time for the various menu items was minimal. Needless to say, the students did a stellar job of coloring while waiting for their food.More

Although they have a bar, it really did not give me the feel of a pub. It was clean and they have a great back porch deck overlooking the lake. The views are very nice. I had fish and chips. I thought they were average...at best. My wife had chicken tenders and she said they were good. They also have a bakery/candy shop in the lobby. Everything looked good but we did not tray anything. The service was good.More

Friends brought us here when we visited Vermont and we were not disappointed. The facility is very pleasant with a nice view of the lake. Our server was attentive and efficient. Salads were crisp, and we each received warm rolls with butter. Onion rings were...fantastic and fried mushrooms were good too. Steaks were served just as ordered, and a shrimp and scallop linguini special was fantastic. There's also a nice (though pricey) gift shop that's fun to check out. All around a great experience.More

We ate on the deck before "rush hour." Very nice atmosphere on a warm but not hot evening. Staff were pretty harried but smiling and attempting to appear relaxed. Rapidly became packed on a Saturday evening. Food was ok. G & T was huge but...watery. Both of our entrees were pretty good (fish tacos and a haddock dish) but were over sauced. I'd eat here again but definitely try some other dishes. Fish and chips looked good. Didn't have room for dessert. They looked good too.More

Don't eat an expensive meal there. It was terrible. Thin steak, no flavor. tough. Just terrible. Should have sent it back. Always came with just 4 scallops. My drink was good, but will never eat a meal there again. Maybe they make goodsandwiches. It use...to be really good. Won't eat there again. Maybe the Cow Palace is better.More
